In this study, 27 strains of electrochemically active bacteria (EAB) were rapidly isolated and their capabilities of extracellular electron transfer were identified using a photometric method based on WO3 nanoclusters. These strains caused color change of WO3 from white to blue in a 24-well agar plate within 40 h. Most of the isolated EAB strains belonged to the genera of Aeromonas and Shewanella. One isolate, Pantoea agglomerans S5-44, was identified as an EAB that can utilize acetate as the carbon source to produce electricity and reduce azo dyes under anaerobic conditions. The results confirmed the capability of P. agglomerans S5-44 for extracellular electron transfer. The isolation of this acetate-utilizing, facultative EBA reveals the metabolic diversity of environmental bacteria. Such strains have great potential for environmental applications, especially at interfaces of aerobic and anaerobic environments, where acetate is the main available carbon source. 相似文献

To investigate the effect of surface functionality on the morphology of polymer/silica composite, poly(styrene-alt-maleic anhydride) (SMA) spheres prepared via precipitation polymerization method was employed. In water/ethanol solution, diethanolamine (DEA) was used to catalyze the hydrolysis reaction of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS), and rambutan-like poly(styrene-alt-maleic anhydride)/silica (SMA/SiO2) microspheres were synthesized through in situ sol–gel process. The obtained structure and morphology were characterized by FTIR, NMR, TEM, SEM, and TGA. The results showed that the hydrolyzed SMA chains on the surface was crucial to the nucleation and growth of silica, and the morphologies of SMA/SiO2 composite microspheres can be controlled by the amount of DEA and the ratio of SMA/TEOS. In addition, the SMA/SiO2 microspheres were used to prepare hierarchical structure of SMA/SiO2/Ag particles, which were utilized for the construction of surface-enhanced Raman scattering substrate (SERS). 相似文献

Herein, a facile and noncovalent modification for multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) is adopted by the self-polymerization of dopamine (DOPA). And, the polydopamine-coated MWNTs (D-MWNTs) were further incorporated into poly(l-lactide) (PLLA) matrix through the solvent-casting method. It is found that the D-MWNTs tend to be well dispersed in PLLA matrix than the pristine MWNTs and the D-MWNTs that can act as heterogeneous nucleators that evidently affect the morphology and crystallization behavior of PLLA. In addition, the significant improvement of dispersion and the interface interaction of PLLA/D-MWNTs, via dopamine coating between the MWNTs and PLLA matrix, results in enhanced mechanical and thermal properties and electrical conductivity. Developing strong visible-light-absorbing (SVLA) earth-abundant photosensitizers (PSs) for significantly improving the utilization of solar energy is highly desirable, yet it remains a great challenge. Herein, we adopt a through-bond energy transfer (TBET) strategy by bridging boron dipyrromethene (Bodipy) and a CuI complex with an electronically conjugated bridge, resulting in the first SVLA CuI PSs ( Cu-2 and Cu-3 ). Cu-3 has an extremely high molar extinction coefficient of 162 260 m −1 cm−1 at 518 nm, over 62 times higher than that of traditional CuI PS ( Cu-1 ). The photooxidation activity of Cu-3 is much greater than that of Cu-1 and noble-metal PSs (Ru(bpy)32+ and Ir(ppy)3+) for both energy- and electron-transfer reactions. Femto- and nanosecond transient absorption and theoretical investigations demonstrate that a “ping-pong” energy-transfer process in Cu-3 involving a forward singlet TBET from Bodipy to the CuI complex and a backward triplet-triplet energy transfer greatly contribute to the long-lived and Bodipy-localized triplet excited state. 相似文献

Historically, researchers have put considerable effort into developing automation systems to prepare natural biopolymers such as peptides and oligonucleotides. The availability of such mature systems has significantly advanced the development of natural science. Over the past twenty years, breakthroughs in automated synthesis of oligosaccharides have also been achieved. A machine-driven platform for glycopeptide synthesis by a reconstructed peptide synthesizer is described. The designed platform is based on the use of an amine-functionalized silica resin to facilitate the chemical synthesis of peptides in organic solvent as well as the enzymatic synthesis of glycan epitopes in the aqueous phase in a single reaction vessel. In situ exsolution of metal nanoparticles in perovskite under reducing atmosphere is employed to generate a highly active metal–oxide interface for CO2 electrolysis in a solid oxide electrolysis cell. Atomic-scale insight is provided into the exsolution of CoFe alloy nanoparticles in La0.4Sr0.6Co0.2Fe0.7Mo0.1O3−δ (LSCFM) by in situ scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and DFT calculations. The doped Mo atoms occupy B sites of LSCFM, which increases the segregation energy of Co and Fe ions at B sites and improves the structural stability of LSCFM under a reducing atmosphere. In situ STEM measurements visualized sequential exsolution of Co and Fe ions, formation of CoFe alloy nanoparticles, and reversible exsolution and dissolution of CoFe alloy nanoparticles in LSCFM. The metal–oxide interface improves CO2 adsorption and activation, showing a higher CO2 electrolysis performance than the LSCFM counterparts. 相似文献

The first copper-catalyzed asymmetric cyanation and etherification reactions of enamides have been established, where a carbon-centered radical adjacent to a nitrogen atom (CRAN) is enantioselectively trapped by a chiral copper(II) species. Moreover, the asymmetric cyanation of vinyl esters was disclosed as well. These reactions feature very mild reaction conditions and high functional group tolerance, and give a series of chiral α-cyano amides, α-cyano esters and α-hemiaminals in good yields with excellent enantioselectivity. The chiral α-cyano amides can be easily converted into enantioenriched 1,2-diamines and amino acids. 相似文献
