Bias-temperature treatment on mos capacitors irradiated with 1 MeV electrons

The fading behaviour of TLD-900 has been investigated up to 140 davs. An high post irradiation annealing temperature allows a high stability of the stored TL signal over a period of 100 hours.     

Non-translation invariant Gibbs states with coexisting phases III: Analyticity properties

We consider the spatially inhomogeneous Gibbs states for the three dimensional Ising and Widom-Rowlinson models. We prove the analyticity inz=exp(–2J) for small |z| of the spin correlation functions of these Gibbs states and of the surface tension.Supported in part by N.S.F. Enhancement of hole drift velocity in amorphous As2Se3 by iodine doping

The addition of ～ 0.6 at.% iodine to approximately stoichiometric a-As₂Se₃ enhances the hole drift velocity by more than a decade but does not affect its field, thickness and temperature dependence or the degree of disorder. It is speculated that iodine reduces the ratio of trapping to hopping states in the trap-controlled hopping process which recently has been proposed for a-As₂Se₃.     

Charge transport and photogeneration in molecularly doped polymers

Room temperature studies of hole transport and photogeneration efficiency are reported for N-isopropyl carbazole (NIPC) molecularly dispersed in a polycarbonate polymer as a function of NIPC concentration. These provide independent confirmation of the recently proposed stochastic hopping model for transport in disordered solids.

The stereochemistry of the isomeric 6, 7-methylene steroids 2 and 3 was established by reduction to the known 7-methyl compounds 6 and 8 , respectively. These results revise previous steric assignments based on n.m.r. data [4].     

Isotopeneffekt in der paraelastischen relaxation

The kinetics of the reorientation of the molecular impurities¹⁶O₂ ^? and¹⁸O₂ ^? in the host lattices KCl, KBr and KJ has been investigated by means of ESR as a function of uniaxial stress in the temperature range between 1,3°K and 4,5°K. Below 4°K the reorientation rate is proportional to the temperature, indicating that one-phonon processes dominate at low temperatures. ForT>4°K the reorientation through excited librational levels becomes significant. The large isotope effect in the reorientation rate of¹⁶O₂ ^? and¹⁸O₂ ^? confirms that tunneling plays an important role. The analogy between the diffusion of polarons and the reorientation of molecules in solids is discussed in detail. The evaluation and interpretation of the experimental results in terms of the theory of Gosar and Pire yields values for the tunneling matrix elements, the potential barrier between two equilibrium orientations, the libration frequencies and an effective moment of inertia. The theory accounts well for the contribution of the one-phonon processes to the relaxation rate for stress along [001]. For stress along [111] the agreement is only qualitative.     

About the computation of the signature of surface singularities <Emphasis Type=Italic>z</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type=Italic>N</Emphasis></Superscript> + <Emphasis Type=Italic>g</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type=Italic>x,y</Emphasis>) = 0

In this article we describe our experiences with a parallel Singular implementation of the signature of a surface singularity defined by z ^N + g(x; y) = 0.     

Monitoring of organochlorine pesticides in the urban air of Dalian,China with semipermeable membrane devices

The concentrations of 28 organochlorine pesti- cides （OCPs） in the urban air of Dalian, China were measured using semipermeable membrane devices （SPMDs） for the first time. Alpha-hexachlorocyclohexane （α-HCH）, β-HCH, pentachlorobenzene （PentCB）, hexachlorobenzene （HexCB）, 4,4＇-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane （4,4＇-DDT）, 4,4＇- dichlorodiphenyldichloroethene, endosulfan-I and endosul- fan-Ⅱ were the predominant OCPs in the urban air of Dalian. The concentration of OCPs sequestrated by SPMDs （CSPMD） ranged from undetected to 56,772 pg SPMD-1 and had a linear correlation with the reciprocal of the average ambient atmospheric temperature （1/T）. The CSPMD of PentCB and HexCB had negative correlations with T, whereas the other detected OCPs had a positive correlation. The source of HCHs, DDTs, HexCB, PentCB, chlordane, and endosulfan in the air were also evaluated. The OCPs in the urban air of Dalian could be attributed to the seasonal usage of pesticides,combustion, volatilization of aged OCPs from soil, water, plants, and long-range atmospheric transport.
