Electroluminescence of Poly Bis(p-propoxyphenyl)Silane from Double Layer Device with 8-Hydroxyquinoline Aluminum

We observed an electroluminescence (EL) of poly bis(p-propoxyphenyl)silane (PBPPS) from a double-layer device with an electron transport layer of 8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum (Alq₃) for the first time. The EL spectrum at 77 K consisted of a PBPPS emission at 3.0 eV, which coincided with the photoluminescence spectrum, and a broad emission band between 1.8 and 2.7 eV.     

Enantioseparation of α-Amino Acids by Capillary Electrophoresis Using L-Cysteine-Modified Cyclodextrins as Chiral Selectors

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) is a powerful separation technique that was used in a wide range of analytical chemical applications. Cyclodextrins(CDs) are the most commonly used chiral selectors in chiral capillary electrophoresis at the present time. Under neutral conditions, however, native CDs are neutral and usually applicable only for the enantioseparation of charged analyses. To overcome this defect we modified α- and β-CD with a L-cysteine moiety and used the CD derivatives as chiral selectors for the separation of a-amino acid enantiomers by the ligand exchange mode.     

Mean Curvature Flow Closes Open Ends of Noncompact Surfaces of Rotation

We discuss the motion of noncompact axisymmetric hypersurfaces Γ _t evolved by mean curvature flow. Our study provides a class of hypersurfaces that share the same quenching time with the shrinking cylinder evolved by the flow and prove that they tend to a smooth hypersurface having no pinching neck and having closed ends at infinity of the axis of rotation as the quenching time is approached. Moreover, they are completely characterized by a condition on initial hypersurface.     

On Central Elements in the Universal Enveloping Algebras of the Orthogonal Lie Algebras

We present an analogy of the famous formula that the square of the Pfaffian is equal to the determinant for an alternating matrix for the case where the entries are the generators of the orthogonal Lie algebras. This identity clarifies the relation between the two sets of central elements in the enveloping algebra of the orthogonal Lie algebras. We employ systematically the exterior calculus for the proof.     

Rhenium complex-catalyzed carbon-carbon formation of alcohols and organosilicon compounds

The coupling reactions of allylic and benzylic alcohols and allyltrimethylsilane are efficiently catalyzed by a rhenium complex to give the corresponding 1,5-dienes and alkenes in moderate to good yields. Similarly, alcohols were coupled with ketene silyl acetals to form the corresponding esters.     

Bis(oxazoline)–ligand-mediated asymmetric [2,3]-Wittig rearrangement of benzyl ethers: reaction mechanism based on the hydrogen/deuterium exchange effect

We have investigated the mechanism of chiral induction in the asymmetric [2,3]-Wittig rearrangement of allyl benzyl ether in the presence of a bis(oxazoline) chiral ligand [(S,S)-Box–tBu] by comparing the reaction of both enantiomers of monodeuterated benzyl ether 1a–d. As a result, we found that chirality was induced via enantioselective deprotonation followed by efficient chirality transfer of the resulting chiral benzyl carbanion with the inversion of stereochemistry. It was revealed that the chiral ligand facilitates selective deprotonation as well as prevents the chiral carbanion from racemization. Moreover, we examined the effect of the o-methoxy substituent on the benzene ring.     

Rhenium-catalyzed reaction of carbonyl compounds with ketene silyl acetals

It was found that rhenium complex is an effective catalyst for the reaction of carbonyl compounds with ketene silyl acetals. A wide range of β-silyloxy esters is obtained by the treatment of carbonyl compounds with ketene silyl acetals in the presence of a catalytic amount of ReBr(CO)₅ in moderate to good yields.     

基于次序统计滤波器的阶跃边缘检测

在二值图像的边缘检测理论中,经典的方法是用固定的卷积核构成边缘检测算子,如Sobel算子,Prewitt算子,Kirsch算子和Roberts算子等。它们对数字图像边缘的复杂几何结构缺乏算法自适应性。现作者将随机滤波的思想引入边缘检测,用次序统计滤波器构造随机卷积核,从而引入一种新的随边缘检测算子,将OSF边缘算子,并分别对雷达图像和文本图像实施边缘检测。实验结果证明了OSF边缘算子的有效性。
