Temperature-programmed synthesis of micron-sized multi-responsive microgels   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A new synthetic protocol for the synthesis of large diameter (2.5 to 5 μm), temperature-, and pH-responsive microgels via aqueous surfactant-free radical precipitation copolymerization is presented. We have found that in this size range, which is not typically attainable using traditional dispersion polymerization approaches, excellent monodispersity and size control are achieved when the synthesis employs a programmed temperature ramp from 45 to 65 °C during the nucleation stage of the polymerization. A combined kinetic and thermodynamic hypothesis for large particle formation under these conditions is described. Particle sizes, volume phase transition temperatures, and pH responsivity were characterized by particle tracking and photon correlation spectroscopy to illustrate their similar behavior to particles made via more traditional routes. These particles have been enabling for various studies in our group where microscopic visualization of the particles is required.  相似文献

A system with more than one positive Lyapunov exponent can be classified as a hyperchaotic system. In this study, a sinusoidal perturbation was designed for generating hyperchaos from the Chen–Lee chaotic system. The hyperchaos was identified by the existence of two positive Lyapunov exponents and bifurcation diagrams. The system is hyperchaotic in several different regions of the parameters c, ε, and ω. It was found that this method not only can enhance or suppress chaotic behavior, but also induces chaos in non-chaotic parameter ranges. In addition, two interesting dynamical behaviors, Hopf bifurcation and intermittency, were also found in this study.  相似文献

In this article, electrochemistry of mitochondria is achieved. Cyclic voltammograms of freshly prepared mitochondria were obtained by immobilizing mitochondria together with glutaraldehyde and bovine serum albumin on the surface of a pyrolytic graphite electrode. Two pairs of redox peaks could be observed which were ascribed to the electron transfer reactions of cytochrome c and FAD/FADH2. Study of submitochondrial particles was also conducted, which could confirm the results of the study of the entire mitochondria. The redox wave of NADH could be obtained due to the destruction of the membrane of mitochondria. We have also checked the function of succinate in mitochondria by employing the electrochemical method. This work is not only the first to be able to obtain the direct electrochemistry of mitochondria, but is also beneficial to the further understanding of the structure and function of mitochondria in vitro.  相似文献

A nonautonomous Lotka–Volterra dispersal system with continuous delays and discrete delays is considered. By using a comparison theorem and delay differential equation basic theory, we obtain sufficient conditions for the permanence of the population in every patch. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, we prove that the system is globally asymptotically stable under some appropriate conditions. Using almost periodic functional hull theory, we get sufficient conditions for the existence, uniqueness and globally asymptotical stability for an almost periodic solution. This implies that the population in every patch exhibits stable almost periodic fluctuation. Furthermore, the results show that the permanence and global stability of system, and the existence and uniqueness of a positive almost periodic solution, depend on the delay; then we call it “profitless”.  相似文献

Studying the characteristics and molecular mechanisms of liquid self-diffusion coefficient and viscosity changes is of great significance for, e. g., chemical and petroleum processing. As examples of highly complex liquid,an asphaltene-free high-acid and high-viscosity crude oil and its extracted fractions were studied by comparing their 1H DOSY diffusion maps. The crude oil exhibited a polydisperse diffusion distribution, including multiple diffusion portions with diffusion coefficients much smaller than that of any single fraction in independent diffusion. The main mechanism that leads to the decreases in the diffusion coefficients of crude oil is attributed to diffusion resistance enhanced by Dynamical Molecular-Interaction Networks (DMINs), rather than by enlargement of the diffusion species caused by molecular aggregation. Constructed through the synergistic interactions of various polar molecules in crude oil, DMINs dynamically bind polar molecules, trap polarizable molecules, and spatially hinder the free motion of non-polar molecules. Overall, this reduces the mobility of all molecular species, as illustrated by the decreased diffusion coefficients. This study demonstrates that DOSY is a powerful NMR method to investigate molecular motion abilities also in complex mixtures. In addition, the insights in the influence of the interaction matrix on the molecular mobility also help to understand the contribution of “structural viscosity” to the viscosity of heavy oil.  相似文献
