Probing met repressor-operator recognition in solution.

The three-dimensional crystal structure of the Escherichia coli methionine repressor, MetJ, complexed with a DNA operator fragment is described in an accompanying article. The complex exhibits several novel features of DNA-protein interaction. DNA sequence recognition is achieved largely by hydrogen-bond contacts between the bases and amino-acid side chains located on a beta-ribbon, a mode of recognition previously hypothesized on the basis of modelling of idealized beta-strands and DNA, and mutagenesis of the Salmonella phage P22 repressors Arc and Mnt. The complex comprises a pair of MetJ repressor dimers which bind to adjacent met-box sites on the DNA, and contact each other by means of a pair of antiparallel alpha-helices. Here we assess the importance of these contacts, and also of contacts that would be made between the C-helices of the protein and DNA in a previous model of the complex, by studying mutations aimed at disrupting them. The role of the carboxy-terminal helix face in operator binding was unclear, but we demonstrate that recognition of operator sequences occurs through side chains in the beta-strand motif and that dimer-dimer interactions are required for effective repression.

线状锗等离子体X射线线谱的时间分辨测量

用自行研制的X射线条纹晶体谱仪首次测量了线状锗等离子体的X射线时间分辨谱。给出了类Ne-锗L线共振线的时间演化过程,并用类Ne-锗L线共振线与其双电子俘获伴线的相对强度比粗估了锗等离子体的电子温度及其随时间的变化,实验给出了X光激光增益区介质的电子温度为400～760eV,同时给出了电子温度保持相对恒定的时间不小于90ps(电子温度变化小于2％)。     

高性价比2MB／S会议电视图象压缩编译码器的研制

本文系作者研制低成本高质量的２ＭＢ／Ｓ会议电视图象压缩编码硬件系统的成果报告。在研制过程中，采用了作者新的电视图象编码方案。该成果：图象质量同ＣＣＩＴＴＨ１２０建议的编码系统相当，但成本比ＣＣＩＴＴＨ１２０建议下降数倍。     

N-烷基-O-烷基-O-(1,2,2,2-四氯乙基)硫代磷酰胺酯的合成研究

Developing a hybrid emulsion polymerization system to synthesize Fe3O4/polystyrene latexes with narrow size distribution and high magnetite content

A hybrid emulsion polymerization was formulated for synthesizing Fe₃O₄/polystyrene composite latex. This system, containing binary droplets that are magnetic (Mag)‐droplets with a diameter of 100–200 nm and styrene (St)‐droplets with a diameter of 3–4 μm, was obtained by mixing Mag‐miniemulsion and St‐macroemulsion. With extremely low surfactants concentration (?critical micelle concentration, CMC), the nucleated loci are selectively controlled in the Mag‐droplets, as the result of smaller droplet size and larger surface ratio. Both water‐soluble potassium persulfate (KPS) and oil‐soluble 2,2′‐azobis(2‐isobutyronitrile) was adopted to initiate the polymerization. In the presence of KPS, magnetic polystyrene latices with particles size of 60–200 nm, narrow size distribution, and high magnetite content (86 wt % measured by TGA) were attained successfully. The synthesized magnetic Fe₃O_4/polystyrene latices assembled into well‐ordered hexagonal structure in the surface of a carbon supported copper grid. The influence of various parameters on various aspects of the as‐synthesized Fe₃O₄/polystyrene was investigated in detail: type of initiator on composite morphology, feed ratio of Mag‐miniemulsion and St‐macroemulsion on magnetite content, and hydrophobic agent or amount of surfactant on size and size distribution. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 利用光反射精确测量亚共析碳钢的含碳量

本文从光学角度出发提出了一种经济实用、精度高的测量亚共析碳钢中碳的含量的新方法。阐述了该方法的测量原理，即以金相试样表面对光的反射程度来判定其含碳量，并给出了有关经验公式及数据处理方法。
