Ultrasensitive electrochemical immunosensor for zeranol detection based on signal amplification strategy of nanoporous gold films and nano-montmorillonite as labels

Nano-montmorillonites belong to aluminosilicate clay minerals with innocuity, high specific surface area, ion exchange, and favorable adsorption property. Due to the excellent properties, montmorillonites can be used as labels for the electrochemical immunosensors. In this study, nano-montmorillonites were converted to sodium montmorillonites (Na-Mont) and further utilized for the immobilization of thionine (TH), horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and the secondary anti-zeranol antibody (Ab₂). The modified particles, Na-Mont-TH-HRP-Ab₂ were used as labels for immunosensors to detect zeranol. This protocol was used to prepare the immunosensor with the primary antibody (Ab₁) immobilized onto the nanoporous gold films (NPG) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface. Within zeranol concentration range (0.01–12 ng mL⁻¹), a linear calibration plot (Y = 0.4326 + 8.713 X, r = 0.9996) was obtained with a detection limit of 3 pg mL⁻¹ under optimal conditions. The proposed immunosensor showed good reproducibility, selectivity, and stability. This new type of immunosensors with montmorillonites and NPG as labels may provide potential applications for the detection of zeranol.     

Unusual Spirodecane Sesquiterpenes and a Fumagillol Analogue from Cordyceps ophioglossoides

Investigation of the cultured mycelia of Cordyceps ophioglossoides resulted in the isolation and characterization of three new unusual spiro[4.5]decane sesquiterpenes, cordycepol A ( 1 ), cordycepol B ( 2 ), and cordycepol C ( 3 ), and a new fumagillol analogue, cordycol ( 4 ). Their structures were established by spectroscopic means. The cytotoxic activities were also evaluated, compounds 3 and 4 showing their IC₅₀ values in the range of 12–33 μg/ml against HeLa and HepG2 (Table 3). In addition, 3 and 4 were not obviously harmful towards normal liver cell lines LO2, showing IC₅₀ values above 80 μg/ml.     

Five New Cycloartane‐Type Triterpenoid Saponins from Nervilia fordii

Five new cycloartane glycosides, nervisides D–H ( 1 – 5 ), were isolated from the AcOEt‐ and H₂O‐soluble portions of the 90% EtOH extract of the aerial part of the plant Nervilia fordii. The structures of the isolated glycosides were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis including HR‐ESI‐MS and NMR data. The isolated nervisides D–H were evaluated for the cytotoxic activity in vitro against human‐tumor cell lines (CNE, Hep‐2 and HepG2) with the MTT method.     

Torreyanoxane,a New 3,4‐Secoglutinane Triterpenoid Isolated from the Pulp of Torreya nucifera

Torreyanoxane, a novel 3,4‐secoglutinane triterpenoid, was isolated from the pulp of Torreya nucifera. The structure was determined on the basis of spectroscopic methods.     

Sulfamic Acid as an Effective Catalyst in Solvent‐Free Synthesis of β‐Enaminoketone Derivatives and X‐ray Crystallography of Their Representatives

Two types of β‐enaminoketone derivatives of 3‐(2‐oxo‐2‐arylethylidene)‐3,4‐dihydro‐1H‐quinoxalin‐2‐ones and 3‐(2‐oxo‐2‐arylethylidene)‐3,4‐dihydro‐benzo[1,4]oxazin‐2‐ ones were effectively and conveniently prepared in good to excellent yields under solvent‐free conditions via the catalysis of sulfamic acid in the corresponding condensations of o‐phenylenediamine and o‐aminophenol with ethyl 2,4‐dioxo‐4‐arylbutyrate respectively. The compounds were confirmed by IR, ¹H NMR, and ¹³C NMR, and a representative was further determined by X‐ray crystallography.     

Synthesis of Dispiro[indole‐3,2′‐pyrrolidine‐3′,2″‐pyrrolizine]‐1″,2(1H)‐diones via Azomethine Ylide 1,3‐Dipolar Cycloaddition

The 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylide generated in situ from isatin and sarcosine to 2‐arylmethylidene‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐pyrrolizin‐1‐ones afforded novel 1′‐methyl‐4′‐(aryl)‐1″H‐dispiro[indole‐3,2′‐pyrrolidine‐3′,2″‐pyrrolizine]‐1″,2(1H)‐diones in good yields. The structures of all the products were characterized thoroughly by NMR, infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrum, and elemental analysis.     

An Efficient One-Pot Synthesis of Nitriles from Carboxylic Acids Without Solvent Under Microwave Irradiation

Nitriles were prepared from alkyl and aryl carboxylic acids in dry media conditions, under microwave irradiation. Heating of the carboxylic acid, urea and amidosulfonic acid adsorbed on alumina support in a microwave oven affords nitriles in 20–93% yields.     

Clean,One‐Pot Synthesis of Naphthopyran Derivatives in Aqueous Media

A general and practical one‐pot synthesis of naphthopyran derivatives using hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HTMAB) as catalyst (10 mol%) is described. This method provides several advantages such as neutral conditions, high yields and simple workup procedure. The catalyst is low cost, facile, active, environmentally friendly, and reusable. In addition, water is chosen as a green solvent.     

Diastereoselective Synthesis of γ-Butenolides Catalyzed by Potassium tert-Butoxide

Potassium tert-butoxide (0.1 mol%) catalyzed a vinylogous Mukaiyama aldol reaction between aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes with 2-(trimethylsilyloxy)furan. The corresponding γ-butenolides were obtained in good yields with good diastereoselectivities.
