The potential role of infrared radiation in photodermatoses has received very little attention, even though the main sources of radiation used for photobiological studies (UVA, UVB and visible light) include infrared radiation. The objective of the work was to assess whether infrared radiation is involved in the development of skin lesions in patients with different types of photodermatoses. Twenty patients with different photodermatoses were exposed to UVA, UVB and visible radiation using a high‐pressure mercury UVA lamp, a fluorescent broadband UVB lamp, a tungsten bulb and a slide projector for visible radiation. Part of the radiation emitted by these lamps was water‐filtered to block infrared radiation above 1300 nm. All 20 patients developed lesions when exposed to different light sources used for phototest. When exposed to same sources without infrared radiation, 17 patients (85%) did not develop any lesions and the other three (15%) developed less severe lesions than in the area exposed to unfiltered light. Our results show that infrared radiation was necessary for the development of skin lesions in 85% of the patients with photodermatoses in our study. We believe that infrared radiation studies should be included in standard photobiology protocols.  相似文献

Compounds containing the tricyclic dibenzo[b,e]azepine system have potential activity in the treatment of a number of diseases. Continuing with our studies on the synthesis of new small and potentially bioactive molecules, a synthetic route, involving acid‐catalysed intramolecular Friedel–Crafts cyclization, to the readily separable diastereoisomers of 11‐ethyl‐6,11‐dihydro‐5H‐dibenzo[b,e]azepine‐6‐carboxamide, a potentially useful precursor in the synthesis of analogues of some anti‐allergenic, antidepressant and antihistaminic drugs currently in use, has been developed starting from 2‐allylphenylamine and methyl 2‐bromo‐2‐phenylacetate and proceeding via racemic methyl 2‐[(2‐allylphenyl)amino]‐2‐phenylacetate (A) and racemic 2‐[(2‐allylphenyl)amino]‐2‐phenylacetamide (B), to give the two diastereoisomers (I) and (II), C17H18N2O. Isomers (I) and (II), and their precursors (A) and (B), have all been fully characterized spectroscopically. Structure analysis of the minor isomer (I) shows that it has the (6RS,11RS) configuration, and that the azepine ring adopts a conformation intermediate between the boat and twist‐boat forms, with the carboxamide and ethyl substituents both occupying quasi‐equatorial sites. The molecules of (I) are linked by a combination of N—H…O, N—H…π(arene) and C—H…π(arene) hydrogen bonds to form complex sheets. A Banach space is said to have the diameter two property if every non-empty relatively weakly open subset of its unit ball has diameter two. We prove that the projective tensor product of two Banach spaces whose centralizer is infinite-dimensional has the diameter two property. The same statement also holds for if the centralizer of X is infinite-dimensional and the unit sphere of Y? contains an element of numerical index one. We provide examples of classical Banach spaces satisfying the assumptions of the results. If K is any infinite compact Hausdorff topological space, then has the diameter two property for any nonzero Banach space Y. A new concept in organocatalysis allowing for the construction of cyclobutanes with four contiguous stereocenters with complete diastereo- and enantiomeric control by a formal [2 + 2]-cycloaddition is presented. The concept is based on simultaneous dual activation of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and nitroolefins by amino- and hydrogen-bonding catalysis, respectively. A new bifunctional squaramide-based aminocatalyst has been designed and synthesized in order to enable such an activation strategy. The potential and scope of the reaction are demonstrated, and computational studies which account for the stereochemical outcome are presented.  相似文献

By means of Monte Carlo simulation, a study of enantioseparation by capillary electrophoresis has been carried out. A simplified system consisting of two enantiomers S (R) and a selector chiral C, which reacts with the enantiomers to form complexes RC (SC), has been considered. The dependence of ΔμΔμ (enantioseparation) with the concentration of chiral selector and with temperature have been analyzed by simulation. The effect of the binding constant and the charge of the complexes are also analyzed. The results are qualitatively satisfactory, despite the simplicity of the model.  相似文献

We prove that for the cases (K infinite) and X=L 1(μ) (μ σ-finite and atomless) it holds that every slice of the unit ball of the N-fold symmetric tensor product of X has diameter two. In fact, we prove more general results for weak neighborhoods relative to the unit ball. As a consequence, we deduce that the spaces of N-homogeneous polynomials on those classical Banach spaces have no points of Fréchet differentiability.
