We investigate the characteristics of the dual-forward synchronously pumped L-band erbium-doped su- perfiuorescent fiber source (SFS). The effects of pump ratio and fiber length arrangements on the output characteristics of the L-band SFS in terms of mean wavelength, spectral linewidth, and output power are analyzed. It is shown that the optimized pump ratio and fiber length arrangements provide broadening spectral linewidth and enhanced pumping efficiency, while the synchronous pump ensures stable mean wavelength operation. A new single-forward pumping scheme with a section of unpumped fiber is pro- posed to achieve a mean wavelength stable L-band SFS with a broadening linewidth of 50.4 nm and a pumping efficiency of 33.5%. 相似文献

We report on a one-stage erbium-doped fibre amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) source with 80 nm bandwidth and 13.5 dBm output power.the broad bandwidth erbium ASE source was realized in an erbium-doped fibre with 37m length by a 1480 nm laser diode and a 980 nm laser diode as forward and backward pump sources,respectively.The total pump power is only 95.7mW. 相似文献

A new technique to generate a C+L-band flat amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) source in one-stage erbium-doped fiber (EDF) using bi-directional pumping configuration is analyzed. The simulation results show that the key point of obtaining flat C+L-band ASE spectrum in one-stage EDF is using a laser diode operated at 980 nm as backward pump source. ASE source with nearly 80-nm bandwidth can be obtained by means of selecting suitable fiber length and properly adjusting the ratio of forward to backward pump power. 相似文献
