文章利用几何不等式理论与解析方法,研究了n维单形的内点到单形各侧面的距离与单形体积的不等式问题,给出了n维单形的Gerber不等式的推广,并给出了它的若干应用。     

Six-Fold Degenerate Dark States in a Four-Level Atomic System

With all driving fields on Raman resonance, a tripod-type atomic system quickly evolves into a dark state decoupled from the lossy excited level. The dark state depends strongly on field Rabi frequencies, spontaneous decay rates, and the initial atomic population in a complicated way. Analytical results reveal that it is a sixfold degenerate dark state with its three components superposed both coherently and incoherently due to population redistribution from spontaneous emission.     

Convection-Dominated Accretion Flows with Radiative Cooling

By numerically solving the set of basic equations describing black hole accretion flows with low accretion rates, we show that although the dynamical structure of these flows is essentially unaffected by radiative processes in comparison with the case in which the radiation is not considered, the radiative cooling can be more important than the advective cooling in the flow＇s convection-dominated zone, and this result may have implications to distinguish observationally convection-dominated accretion flows from advection-dominated accretion flows.     

Topological Effects on the Performance of Transportation Networks

We investigate the influence of the network topology on the performance （characterized by the total system cost and maximal tratffic volume） of transportation networks, where the weights are not static （constant）, but dynamic （a function of the flow on the link）. Four classes of networks are used in the simulation, including regular networks, random networks, small-world networks and scale-free networks. The initial simulation results show that topologies play important roles on the performance of transportation networks, and random networks have better performance than other networks. Also, we find that there are distinct difference of the link flow distribution for various networks in both the distribution function form and the span between the minimum and the maximum of the link flow, explaining the difference of the performance among distinct networks. These findings will be useful in network design problems of transportation systems.

射频四级场(RFQ)加速器的水冷具有以下两种功用: 首先它可以把射频场发热带走, 维持RFQ腔的热稳定性及限制RFQ强体形变幅度; 其次, 当RFQ失谐时, 它还可以用来进行RFQ的调谐, 而同时又基本不影响RFQ的射频场分布. 由于RFQ粒子的传输效率对射频场的分布极其敏感, 在RFQ的运行中不再采用传统的用调谐器对RFQ进行调谐的方法. 本文通过热分析, 确定了RFQ加速器的水冷管道的数量和布局及最佳工作水温; 确定了RFQ失谐时, 如何利用水温变化来对RFQ进行调谐的方法.

应用解析方法研究了n维欧氏空间En中n维单形的垂足单形几何不等式问题,建立了垂足单形的一个几何不等式,应用它得到了n维Euler不等式的推广.
