Simulation of pumping beams self focusing and defocusing in NH3 Raman laser

High power IR pumping beams self focusing and defocusing in NH₃ Raman laser is investigated by numerical methods on the basis of the solution of nonlinear quasioptical equations. The analysis of self focusing have been done for a wide range of parameters of radiation and of active medium. Spatial evolution of the beam configuration have been investigated for different regimes of nonlinear diffraction. Developed model enables to allow exactly for the spectroscopic features of active molecules and may be applied to the analysis of the properties of powerful optically pumped FIR lasers.     

Cylindrical solitons in a Gödel Universe and their stability

Exact cylindrically symmetric solutions are obtained for a class of interacting scalar and vector fields in a rotating Godel Universe. We select those with the properties of solitons with smooth decrease of the fields to asymptotics and those with sharp boundaries (droplets). 一种适于自适应光学的旋转软刀口波面传感器的研究

利用傅里叶光学理论,证明了一种新型波面传感器——旋转软刀口波面传感器的概念.在经典刀口法的刀口区,以渐变透过率代替突变透过率函数,在光瞳象面上可获得反映光瞳面位置待测波面位相梯度及位相梯度方向的调制信号.文中给出了实验结果和讨论.

催化动力学光度法测定痕量钴(Ⅱ)

本法基于钴 (Ⅱ )对高碘酸钾氧化孔雀绿的催化作用 ,提出一种灵敏地测定痕量钴 (Ⅱ )的新方法。该方法线性范围在 0～ 0 8μg·2 5mL- 1 ,检测限为 2 1× 10 - 1 0 g·mL- 1 。测定出反应表现活化能Ea=37 94kJ·mol- 1 。此法用于茶叶、维生素B1 2 中钴的测定 ,结果满意     

Two sources of excitation of photoluminescence of porous silicon

The change occurring in the photoluminescence spectra and the photoluminescence excitation spectra during aging of porous-silicon samples in air and in vacuum has been investigated. It was found that the character of the photoluminescence changes occurring during aging depends on the wavelength of the exciting light: In the case of excitation in the visible-range band of the luminescence excitation spectrum (λ_exc>490 nm) the photoluminescence decreases and in the case of excitation in the ultraviolet band it predominantly increases. It is shown that the two bands of the luminescence excitation spectrum (visible and ultraviolet) correspond to two different objects on the surface of the porous layer. Fiz. Tekh. The structure of the nematic-isotropic interface in polymer systems

The structure of the nematic-isotropic interfacial layer is studied theoretically for systems formed by rod-like and persistent macromolecules. It is shown that the width of interfacial layer is normally of the order of the straight part of a molecule. This allows us to use the approach which describes intermolecular interactions phenomenologically (i.e. it allows us to consider all interactions), at the same time this approach describes molecular flexibility microscopically (i.e. it allows us to study the effects of flexibility correctly). It was found, that non-monotonic gradient profiles in the surface layer of the order parameter or of the concentration of molecules as a function of the coordinate perpendicular to the interface are possible. For example, a thin layer with abnormal ordering of molecules along the surface may exist near the interface for some systems.     

Axisymmetric excitation of a dielectric torus: Numerical solution

The article considers the mathematical model of a lens antenna in the shape of a homogeneous dielectric torus excited by an axial magnetic dipole. The boundary-value problem for an elliptical differential equation is posed and reduced by the fundamental solution method to an integral equation of 2nd kind over the torus section. A numerical algorithm is proposed, and the numerical results are compared with experimental findings. Deformation of doped NaCl crystals during uniaxial compression at temperatures of 4.2–293 K

The impurity weakening of crystalline NaCl:Mg and NaCl:Mn associated with purification of the matrix in a melt is demonstrated. This effect is manifested in a consistent change in the yield strength and mobility of dislocations. Its unusual temperature dependence is determined: in a number of cases weakening becomes greater as the temperature is lowered within the interval 293–4.2 K. A deviation in the elastic region of the stress-strain curves is observed to increase as the temperature is lowered. Plasticizing of crystalline NaCl is established: when the deformation temperature is lowered from 293 to 77 and 4.2 K the rate of rise in the yield strength of Cd²⁺ and Sr²⁺ doped samples is lower than that of undoped samples.
