Adsorbate interactions of Cu(II) in Cu(II)-exchanged K-L gallosilicate studied by CW and Pulsed electron spin resonance

The interactions of Cu(II) in Cu(II)-exchanged K-L gallosilicate with adsorbates containing coordinative nitrogens in ammonia, pyridine, aniline, acetonitrile and hydrazine, and with the adsorbates carbon monoxide, benzene, propanol and dimethyl sulfoxide are investigated by electron spin resonance (ESR) and electron spin echo modulation (ESEM) spectroscopies. These results are compared with those in Cu(II)-exchanged K-L aluminosilicate and the differences are discussed. Adsorption of ammonia produces a complex containing four molecules of ammonia based on resolved nitrogen superhyperfine interaction. Upon equilibrium with pyridine, Cu(II) forms a complex containing four molecules of pyridine in CuK-L gallosilicate and a complex containing only three molecules of pyridine in CuK-L aluminosilicate based on resolved nitrogen superhyperfine. Upon adsorption of aniline and acetonitrile, Cu(II) forms complexes containing two molecules of each in CuK-L gallosilicate based on resolved nitrogen superhyperfine. However, no resolved nitrogen superhyperfine between hydrazine and Cu(II) is seen. Adsorption of carbon monoxide, benzene, propanol and dimethyl sulfoxide causes changes in the ESR spectrum of Cu(II), indicating migration of Cu(II) into cation positions in the main channels where adsorbate coordination can occur. Cu(II) forms complexes with one molecule of benzene and two molecules of propanol based on ESEM data in both K-L gallosilicate and K-L aluminosilicate. However, Cu(II) interacts directly with one dimethyl sulfoxide in K-L aluminosilicate but only indirectly at a longer distance with one dimethyl sulfoxide in K-L gallosilicate based on ESEM data.

Study and design of step-index channel waveguide bends withlarge-angle and low-loss characteristics

By using micro-prisms, improved three-dimensional (3-D) bends of the embedded and buried waveguides of step-index profile are proposed. A simple phase compensation rule for the optimal design of the micro-prism is also presented. Through the simulation of 3-D semivectorial finite-difference beam propagation method, the transmission characteristics of the improved bends are shown to have been enhanced dramatically as compared with those of the conventional ones. Even for a bend angle of as large as 10°, the normalized transmitted power can still be greater than 95%. These results of 3-D bends are then compared with those of the two-dimensional (2-D) ones which are simplified from 3-D structures by the effective index method, and physical explanation of the discrepancy between the 3-D and 2-D results is introduced. The influences of waveguide structures and prism parameters on the transmission characteristics are discussed in detail. Some criteria for the design of large-angle low-loss 3-D improved bends are also accessed

EXTENSION OF MULTIPLIERS AND INJECTIVE HILBERT MODULES

The author studies the problem whether a multiplier of a hereditary C^*-subalgebra B of a C^*-algebra A can be extended to a multiplier of A. One related problem is the Hahn-Banach extension theorem for Hilbert modules over C^*-algebras. It is shown that every self-dual Hilbert module over W^*-algebra or an injective C^*-algebra is injective.     

含三正辛胺微胶囊对六价铬的富集

本文将对六价铬有效的萃取剂ＴＯＡ（三正辛胺）微胶囊化，制成填充柱型的酸性体系六价铬的富集分离装置。实验结果表明，微胶囊填充柱中每毫升ＴＯＡ对六价铬的最大萃取容量为１５８．０ｇ／ｍＬ，为纯ＴＯＡ液相萃取的４．９倍。微胶囊经碱／水洗涤后，可再生使用。     

On Green's function for the Helmholtz equation in a wedge

Enhanced electron emission from phosphorus-doped diamond-cladsilicon field emitter arrays

Undoped and phosphorus (P)-doped diamond-clad Si field emitter arrays have been successfully fabricated using microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD) technology. The electron emission from the blunt diamond-clad microtips are much higher than those for the pure Si tips with sharp curvature due to a lower work function. Furthermore, the characteristics of emission current against applied voltage for the P-doped diamond-clad tips show superior emission at lower field to the undoped ones. After the examination of Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and electrical characteristics of as-grown diamond, such a significant enhancement of the electron emission from the P-doped diamond-clad tips is attributed to a higher electron conductivity and defect densities     

Exact evaluation of laser linewidth requirements for optical PSKhomodyne communication systems with balanced PLL receivers

The power penalty induced by imperfect phase recovery in PSK homodyne communication systems with balanced phase-locked loop receivers are exactly evaluated. Optimum phase deviations between the mark-state and the space-state bits are used in this study. This study for the first time shows the imperfect-phase-recovery-induced power penalty as a function of laser linewidth with optimum phase deviations considered. It can be estimated from the theoretical result that an optimal balanced PLL receiver requires the laser linewidth as Δν⩽1.15×10^-6× (bit rate) in contrast to the previous reported one Δν⩽5.88×10^-6× (bit rate). We also point out here that the previously reported laser linewidth requirement was wrongly estimated
