Bipyridinophane‐containing conjugated polymers modulated with an intramolecular aromatic C?H/π interaction

Bipyridinophane–fluorene conjugated copolymers have been synthesized via Suzuki and Heck coupling reactions from 5,8‐dibromo‐2,11‐dithia[3]paracyclo[3](4,4′)‐2,2′‐bipyridinophane and suitable fluorene precursors. Poly[2,7‐(9,9‐dihexylfluorene)‐co‐alt‐5,8‐(2,11‐dithia[3]paracyclo[3](4,4′)‐2,2′‐bipyridinophane)] ( P7 ) exhibits large absorption and emission redshifts of 20 and 34 nm, respectively, with respect to its planar reference polymer Poly[2,7‐(9,9‐dihexylfluorene)‐co‐alt‐1,4‐(2,5‐dimethylbenzene)] ( P11 ), which bears the same polymer backbone as P7 . These spectral shifts originate from intramolecular aromatic C? H/π interactions, which are evidenced by ultraviolet–visible and ¹H NMR spectra as well as X‐ray single‐crystal structural analysis. However, the effect of the intramolecular aromatic C? H/π interactions on the spectral shift in poly[9,9‐dihexylfluorene‐2,7‐yleneethynylene‐co‐alt‐5,8‐(2,11‐dithia[3]paracyclo[3](4,4′)‐2,2′‐bipyridinophane)] ( P10 ) is much weaker. Most interestingly, the quenching behaviors of these two conjugated polymers are largely dependent on the polymer backbone. For example, the fluorescence of P7 is efficiently quenched by Cu²⁺, Co²⁺, Ni²⁺, Zn²⁺, Mn²⁺, and Ag⁺ ions. In contrast, only Cu²⁺, Co²⁺, and Ni²⁺ ions can partially quench the fluorescence of P10 , but much less efficiently than the fluorescence of P7 . The static Stern–Volmer quenching constants of Cu²⁺, Co²⁺, and Ni²⁺ ions toward P7 are of the order of 10⁶ M^?1, being 1300, 2500, and 37,300 times larger than those of P10 , respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An analysis of the coupling of an injection laser diode to a planar LiNbO3waveguide

Calculated butt coupling efficiency between a GaAlAs double heterostructure laser and a single-mode LiNbO3Ti-diffused optical waveguide is presented in this paper as a function of the transverse displacement, the angular alignment, the longitudinal separation between the laser and the waveguide end surfaces, the radiation field of the laser diode and its dependence on the laser diode structure, and the mode profile of the waveguide and its dependence on experimental diffusion parameters. The maximum efficiency is less than 40 percent because of the mismatch between the waveguide mode and the laser radiation, caused primarily by the experimental limitations in their structures. The effect of the reflection of the waveguide end surface on the laser oscillation has also been estimated.     

A completion of the spectrum for large sets of disjoint transitive triple systems

In this paper, we give a recursive construction from an LTTS(v + 2) to an LTTS(16v + 2) for v 3. Furthermore, the existence of LTTS(2ⁿ + 2) is proved. Thereby, we completely solve the existence problem of LTTS)(v) (large set of pairwise disjoint transitive triple systems of order v).     

On the existence of nontrivial extremal metrics on complete noncompact surfaces

In this paper, we consider the 2-dimensional local Calabi flow on a complete noncompact surface . Then, based on the Harnack-type estimate, we show the long-time existence and asymptotic convergence of a subsequence of solutions of such a flow on with and bounded from above by a negative constant on a ball. For its applications, this will lead to the existence of extremal metrics on a complete noncompact surface of finite topological type. 单模光纤的传输衰减随温度变化的研究

本文从实验上测量了单模石英光纤在－50～120℃范围内的损耗。随着温度升高，光纤的损耗随之降低，在常温附近达到最小。其后损耗随着温度的继续升高而增加。损耗的变化主要是由于杂质的吸收和微弯损耗。本文对杂质的吸收以及微弯损耗进行了数值模拟，并且从理论上定性地解释了损耗对温度的依赖关系。     

叶绿素衍生物─CPD_4在人血清中的激发和发射荧光谱

叶绿素衍生物４号（ＣＰＤ４）是一种新型中药光敏剂，本文研究了不同浓度的ＣＰＤ４分别在含１０％不同血型人血清的生理盐水中以及纯生理盐水中的激发和发射荧光光谱，并对结果进行了分析，结论对ＣＰＤ４在光动力诊断恶性肿瘤的临床应用具有一定的指导意义．     

关于M序列的自相关函数的一点注记

本文讨论了Ｍ序列的自相关性，并证明了：当０＜｜ｔ－２＾ｎ－１｜≤［ｎ－１／２］时，｜ＣＭ（ｔ）｜≤２＾ｎ－１。     

天线方向图的复射线仿真

根据复射线理论，利用复源点高斯波束场来模拟天线的远场方向图。本文提出三种模拟方法，即主瓣匹配法，峰值匹配法和逐点匹配法，给出了多种方向图的仿真结果。数值分析和优化结果表明，复射线峰值匹配法是一种精确实用的天线方向图仿真技术。     

Skeleton chain coding for Chinese characters

The compression of Chinese characters is very important for Chinese office automation and desktop publishing. In this paper, various methods are used to compress 13,051 Chinese characters losslessly by coding their skeleton points. The skeleton points are composed of isolated points and curves. To trace every point in a curve once and consecutively is a NP problem. Therefore, we use contour path following and revisiting algorithms to trace skeleton curves with chain codes. The remaining isolated skeleton points are encoded by an Elias code. Our coding method has a better compression rate than that of conventional skeleton coding.     

InGaN/GaN MQW p–n junction photodetectors

InGaN/GaN multiquantum well (MQW) p–n junction photodetectors with semi-transparent Ni/Au electrodes were fabricated and characterized. It was found that the fabricated InGaN/GaN MQW p–n junction photodetectors exhibit a 20 V breakdown voltage and a 3.5 V forward 20 mA turn on voltage. It was also found that the photocurrent to dark current contrast ratio is higher than 10⁵ when a 0.4 V reverse bias was applied to the InGaN/GaN MQW p–n junction photodetectors. Furthermore, it was found that the maximum responsivity was 1.28 and 1.76 A/W with a 0.1 and 3 V applied reverse bias, respectively.
