The vertical excitation energy for the lowest valence pi-->pi(*) transition of cyclopentadiene is investigated. Using a combination of high-level theoretical methods and spectroscopic simulations, the vertical separation at the ground state geometry is estimated to be 5.43+/-0.05 eV. This value is intermediate between those calculated with coupled-cluster and multireference perturbation theory methods and is about 0.13 eV higher than the observed maximum in the absorption profile. 相似文献

We study the rotation of a 87Rb Bose-Einstein condensate confined in a quadratic plus quartic potential. This trap configuration allows one to increase the rotation frequency of the gas above the trap frequency. In such a fast rotation regime we observe a dramatic change in the appearance of the quantum gas. The vortices which were easily detectable for a slower rotation become much less visible, and their surface density is well below the value expected for this rotation frequency domain. We experimentally demonstrate dispersion compensation in a wavelength selective switch, and characterize the bandwidth-dispersion product. At a channel bit-rate of 80 Gbit/s, we compensate for various amounts of dispersion (up to plusmn60 ps/nm), tunable for each wavelength division multiplexed channel, solely by adjusting the phase front of the optical signal inside the wavelength selective switch. Error-free operation is obtained for all of the channels, and for each output port after propagation over various lengths of dispersive fiber. 相似文献

The effect of gate-length variation on DC and RF performance of InAs/AlSb HEMTs, biased for low DC power consumption or high gain, is reported. Simultaneously fabricated devices, with gate lengths between 225 nm and 335 nm, have been compared. DC measurements revealed higher output conductance gds and slightly increased impact ionization with reduced gate length. When reducing the gate length from 335 nm to 225 nm, the DC power consumption was reduced by approximately 80% at an fT of 120 GHz. Furthermore, a 225 nm gate-length HEMT biased for high gain exhibited an extrinsic fT of 165 GHz and an extrinsic fmax of 115 GHz, at a DC power consumption of 100 mW/mm. When biased for low DC power consumption of 20 mW/mm the same HEMT exhibited an extrinsic fT and fmax of 120 GHz and 110 GHz, respectively. 相似文献

In this paper, the scattering parameters of two dipoles placed closely to a flat, homogeneous, biological tissue are characterized in the 2.4-GHz band. The impact of the presence of a flat phantom and of the height of a dipole above the phantom on the reflection coefficient is analyzed through measurements and simulations. The effect of the type of tissue on the reflection coefficient is also investigated by performing simulations for a range of relative permittivity and conductivity combinations spanning the whole range of human tissues at 2.4 GHz. A semiempirical path loss model, validated by measurements and simulations, is presented for wireless communication, for antenna heights from 2 mm up to 5 cm and antenna separations from 10 to 50 cm. Also, the influence of the relative permittivity and conductivity on the path loss is modeled, leading to a range of possible values and lower and upper boundaries for the path loss as a function of the antenna height. The combination of the range with the boundaries results in a best-case and worst-case path loss model for wireless body area networks. The models are validated with measurements on the torso of a human. 相似文献
