As an effective technique for combating multipath fading and for high-bit-rate transmission over wireless channels, orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is extensively used in modern terrestrial digital television broadcasting systems to support high performance bandwidth-efficient multimedia services. Cutoff rate and outage probability are two important criteria to evaluate the performance of a practical communication system in radio engineering. In this paper, the cutoff rate and outage probability performance are compared between two important terrestrial digital television broadcasting systems, the cyclic prefix OFDM based DVB-T system and the time domain synchronous OFDM based DMB-T system, under different mobile multipath channel conditions. The DVB-T system and the DMB-T system are summarily introduced. The cutoff rate and outage probability expressions are developed, and simulation results are given for both the DVB-T system and the DMB-T system. 相似文献

We report a theoretical analysis of the phonon thermal conductance, κ(T), for single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCN). In a range of low temperatues up to 100 K, κ(T) of perfect SWCN is found to increase with temperature, approximately, in a parabolic fashion. This is qualitatively consistent
with recent experimental measurements where the tube-tube interactions are negligibly weak. When the carbon-carbon bond length
is slightly varied, κ(T) is found to be qualitatively unaltered which implies that the anharmonic effect does not change the qualitative behavior
of κ(T).

Based on the semi-classical density matrix equation theory, the gain and tuning characteristics of infrared-microwave pumped NH3 FIR laser were studied. The excited state phosphorescence lifetime of alexandrite crystals is used to monitor temperature in the physiological range from 15-45°C with precision and accuracy of 0.2°C. A 500-μm cubic alexandrite crystal bounded to the distal end of an optical fiber of similar core dimensions is excited with pulsed Ne-He laser light. This apparatus uses a sampler for data acquisition and frequency domain methods for data fitting. The instrument amplifies the AC components of the detector output and band limits the signal to 12.5 kHz. The fundamental frequency of the excitation is set to 195.13 Hz to obtain 64 harmonics. This band limited signal is sampled and averaged over few hundred cycles in the time domain. The frequency domain representation of the data is obtained by employing fast Fourier transform algorithms. The phase delay and the modulation ratio of each sampled harmonic are then computed. Five to 50 values of the phase and modulations are averaged before computing the sensor lifetime. The instrument is capable of measuring precise and accurate excited state lifetimes from subpicowatt luminescent signals in plastic optical fibers. A least squares fit yields the lifetimes of single exponentials. A component of zero lifetime is introduced to account for the backscatter excitation seen by the photodetector leaking through optical interference filters. The phosphorescence lifetimes measured reproducibly to about three parts in a thousand are used to monitor physiological temperature. Temperatures are computed employing empirical polynomials. Hydrogenation and dehydrogenation of the Nd16Fe76B8 magnet are studied by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and Mössbauer spectroscopy. The results of the samples treated under different hydrogen gas pressures at different temperatures are discussed. A special hydrogenation-dehydrogenation treatment of the Nd?Fe?B magnet cast can produce excellent isotropic magnet powders and the treated sample has passed a hydrogenation-disproportionation-recombination process. 相似文献

The blends composed of polyamide 6 (PA6) and polyamide 66 (PA66) were obtained using two different preparation methods, one of which was the melt‐mixing through a twin‐screw extruder and the subsequent injection molding; and the other, the in situ blending through anionic polymerization of ε‐caprolactam in the presence of PA66. For the former, there existed a remarkable improvement in toughness but a drastic drop in strength and modulus; however, for the latter, a reverse but less significant trend of mechanical properties change appeared. Various characterizations were conducted, including the analyses of crystalline morphology, crystallographic form, and crystallization and melting behaviors using polarized optical microscopy (POM), wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction (WAXD), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), respectively; observation of morphology of fractured surface with scanning electron microscope (SEM); measurement of glass transition through dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA); and the intermolecular interaction as well as the interchange reaction between the two components by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT‐IR) and 13C solution NMR. The presence and absence of interchange reaction was verified for the in situ and melt‐mixed blends, respectively. It is believed that the transreaction resulted in a drop in glass transition temperature (Tg) for the in situ blends, contrary to an increase of Tg with increasing PA66 content for the melt‐mixed ones. And the two kinds of fabrication methods led to significant differences in the crystallographic form, spherulite size and crystalline content and perfection as well. Accordingly, it is attempted to explain the reasons for the opposite trends of changes in the mechanical properties for these two blends. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
