On existence of solutions for some hyperbolic-parabolic-type chemotaxis systems

In this paper, we discuss the local and global existence ofweak solutions for some hyperbolic–parabolic systems modellingchemotaxis.     

Solvothermal synthesis of TiO2: anatase nanocrystals and rutile nanofibres from TiCl4 in acetone

This work reports a new synthetic approach for single‐phase TiO₂ nanomaterials by solvothermal treatment of titanium tetrachloride in acetone at 80–110 °C. Small, uniform, and yet size‐tunable (5–10 nm) anatase titania nanocrystallites were obtained using a low concentration of TiCl₄ in acetone (i.e., at molar ratios of TiCl₄/acetone ≤ 1:15) in the temperature range of 80–110 °C, while rutile nanofibers were synthesized using a high concentration of TiCl₄ (e.g., TiCl₄/acetone = 1:10) at 110 °C. Improved coupled-mode theory of anisotropic optical waveguides

A coupled-mode equation for anisotropic waveguide systems of arbitrary cross section and general dielectric distribution is derived. Numerical results comparing the exact calculations to those of the method of Hardy et al. (Opt. Lett., vol.11, 742-4, 1986) show that the same accuracy can be obtained not only for TE, but also for TM mode coupling in the case of anisotropic waveguides, and the improved coupled-mode theory is applicable to the situation when moderately strong coupling occurs under the condition where the edge-to-edge separation of two coupled guides D₂ is about 0.1 μm     

Viscometric properties of dilute polystyrene/dioctyl phthalate solutions

We report viscometric data collected in a Couette rheometry on dilute, single‐solvent polystyrene (PS)/dioctyl phthalate (DOP) solutions over a variety of polymer molecular weights (5.5 × 10⁵ ≤ M_w ≤ 3.0 × 10⁶ Da) and system temperatures (288 K ≤ T ≤ 318 K). In view of the essential viscometric features, the current data may be classified into three categories: The first concerns all the investigated solutions at low shear rates, where the solution properties are found to agree excellently with the Zimm model predictions. The second includes all sample solutions, except for high‐molecular‐weight PS samples (M_w ≥ 2.0 × 10⁶ Da), where excellent time–temperature superposition is observed for the steady‐state polymer viscosity at constant polymer molecular weights. No similar superposition applies at a constant temperature but varied polymer molecular weights, however. The third appears to be characteristic of dilute high‐molecular‐weight polymer solutions, for which the effects of temperature on the viscosity curve are further complicated at high shear rates. The implications concerning the relative importance of hydrodynamic interactions, segmental interactions, and chain extensibility with increasing polymer molecular weight, system temperature, and shear rate are discussed. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Economic analysis and optimization of tool portfolio in semiconductor manufacturing

The tool portfolio of a plant refers to the makeup, in quantity and type, of processing machines in the plant. It is determined by taking into consideration the future trends of process and machine technologies and the forecasts of product evolution and product demands. Portfolio planning is also a multicriteria decision-making task involving tradeoffs among, investment cost, throughput, cycle time, and risk. Tool portfolio planning is a complex task that has strong bearing on manufacturing efficiency. In the first part of this paper, a multicriteria economic decision model is presented for optimal configuration. of the portfolio and to determine the optimal factory loading. The second and third parts of the paper contain applications of the model. If plants are closely located or have a twin-plant design, portfolio planning at multiple plants can be integrated to enhance the overall effectiveness of portfolios. In the second part, a novel methodology for arbitrating capacity backup between plants is described. Because the economic model is constructed upon a valuation of both cycle time and throughput, it is a suitable method for the evaluation of cycle time reduction projects. The application procedure is outlined in the third part.

用电子衍射和晶格像技术研究了钙稀土氟碳酸盐矿物中的氟碳铈矿（Ｂ）／直氟碳钙铈矿（Ｓ）混层结构，发现并确定了Ｂ＿４Ｓ＿４、Ｂ＿８Ｓ＿６、Ｂ＿１Ｓ＿６、Ｂ＿７Ｓ＿４和Ｂ＿２Ｓ＿１５种新规则混层矿物的对称性、晶胞参数及理论晶体化学式。根据所获得的高分辨晶格像真实而直观地揭示出该类Ｂ＿ｍＳ＿ｎ（ｍ＞ｎ）型新规则混层矿物的长周期有序堆垛结构特征及变化规律。     

自适应相位制中波同步广播及现场试验

在本试验中，采用智能同步广播激励器和ＣＣＴＶ传输的１ＭＨｚ标频，实现了中波同步广播同频保护率趋于０ｄＢ．并提出了自适应相位跟踪同步的概念。     

任意型一维FIR数字滤波器设计新方法

本文介绍了一种设计任意型（宽带、窄带、低阶、高阶、低通、高通、带通、带阻）一维FIR数字滤波器新方法．给出设计不同类型滤波器的统一方法。各种类型滤波器脉冲响应的设计公式简单、计算方便。该方法消除了Gibbs现象．不仅克服了优化设计中收敛速度、设计精度及初值选取等问题，而且减少设计高阶滤波器的时间。最后，本文给出了各种类型滤波器设计的仿真结果。
