We obtain an exact result for the midpoint probability distribution function (pdf) of the stationary continuum directed polymer, when averaged over the disorder. It is obtained by relating that pdf to the linear response of the stochastic Burgers field to some perturbation. From the symmetries of the stochastic Burgers equation we derive a fluctuation–dissipation relation so that the pdf gets given by the stationary two space-time points correlation function of the Burgers field. An analytical expression for the latter was obtained by Imamura and Sasamoto (J Stat Phys 150:908–939, 2013), thereby rendering our result explicit. In the large length limit that implies that the pdf is nothing but the scaling function \(f_{\mathrm{KPZ}}(y)\) introduced by Prähofer and Spohn (J Stat Phys 115(1):255–279, 2004). Using the KPZ-universality paradigm, we find that this function can therefore also be interpreted as the pdf of the position y of the maximum of the Airy process minus a parabola and a two-sided Brownian motion. We provide a direct numerical test of the result through simulations of the Log-Gamma polymer.  相似文献

Low temperature analysis of nonequilibrium systems requires finding the states with the longest lifetime and that are most accessible from other states. We determine these dominant states for a one-dimensional diffusive lattice gas subject to exclusion and with nearest neighbor interaction. They do not correspond to lowest energy configurations even though the particle current tends to zero as the temperature reaches zero. That is because the dynamical activity that sets the effective time scale, also goes to zero with temperature. The result is a non-trivial asymptotic phase diagram, which crucially depends on the interaction coupling and the relative chemical potentials of the reservoirs.  相似文献

We present an efficient numerical technique to simulate the third order Kerr effect in wavelength scale dielectric structures by expanding upon the eigenmode expansion method. A two-dimensional spatial grid models the intensity dependent refractive index. By performing an iteration of linear eigenmode calculations, this index grid converges to the rigorous continuous-wave nonlinear solution. Because the underlying eigenmode tool is bidirectional, feedback effects such as bistability can be calculated. We describe the influence of grid size, quantitative agreement with the literature and a photonic crystal switch. The differences with other methods, such as finite-difference time-domain and beam propagation method, are discussed.  相似文献

This paper describes the application of two novel screening technologies, i.e. Domain Scan (24- and 30-mer peptides) and Matrix Scan (24-mer peptides) technology, in the mapping of a discontinuous epitope on FSH-beta for a series of 20 monoclonal antibodies. 11 out of 20 mAb's, mapping of which was not successful by conventional Pepscan technology (12-mer peptides), showed selective binding to peptide-constructs corresponding to the beta3-loop of FSH in the Domain and/or Matrix Scan. Systematic replacement analysis studies with peptide-construct 57VYETVRVPGCAC-SAc-ADSLYTYPVATQ81 revealed that for most mAb's the amino acids R62, A70, D71, and L73 form the core of the epitope. A Domain Scan performed in the C-O format showed highly selective binding for mAb's 1 and 2 with only three beta1-beta3 peptide-constructs covering the residues 60TVRVPGCAHHADSLY74 in combination with 10IAIEKEECRFAI21, while for mAb 10 binding was observed with peptide-constructs containing the C-terminal residues 97RGLGPSYCSFGEMKE114 in combination with the residues 10IAIEKEECRFAI21. A Matrix Scan of mAb 17 showed that peptides from four different regions on FSH (1st strand beta3-loop, alpha 1-loop, long alpha2-loop, det. loop) showed enhanced binding in combination with several 70ADSL73-containing peptides. BIACORE measurements with mAb's 1, 2, 13, and 17 using a set of 21 different peptide(-construct)s partially confirmed the Domain and Matrix Scan screening results. Only 24- and 33-mer peptides covering both the 1st and 2nd strand of the beta3-loop showed measurable binding. Cyclic beta3-loop peptide mimics were found to bind significantly stronger (Kd approximately 5 microM) than the lineair analogues, in agreement with the fact that the discontinuous epitope is part of a loop structure. Coupling of the lineair beta1-peptide 1oIAIEKEECRFAI21 to the linear beta3-peptide *52TFKELVYETVRVPGCAHHADSLYTYPVATQAH83# via disulfide bond formation showed a 2-3 fold increase in Kd, thus conforming participation of the beta 1-loop in antibody binding for these mAb's.  相似文献

Recently there has been growing interest in sensing by means of optical microring resonators in photonic integrated circuits that are fabricated in silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology. Taillaert et al. [Proc. SPIE 6619, 661914 (2007)] proposed the use of a silicon-waveguide-based ring resonator as a strain gauge. However, the strong lateral confinement of the light in SOI waveguides and its corresponding modal dispersion where not taken into account. We present a theoretical understanding, as well as experimental results, of strain applied on waveguide-based microresonators, and find that the following effects play important roles: elongation of the racetrack length, modal dispersion of the waveguide, and the strain-induced change in effective refractive index.  相似文献

We study appointment scheduling problems in continuous time. A finite number of clients are scheduled such that a function of the waiting time of clients, the idle time of the server, and the lateness of the schedule is minimized. The optimal schedule is notoriously hard to derive within reasonable computation times. Therefore, we develop the lag order approximation method, that sets the client’s optimal appointment time based on only a part of his predecessors. We show that a lag order of two, i.e., taking two predecessors into account, results in nearly optimal schedules within reasonable computation times. We illustrate our approximation method with an appointment scheduling problem in a CT-scan area.  相似文献

The effects of source/drain activation thermal budget and premetallization degas conditions on interfacial regrowth, carrier mobility, and defect densities are examined for SiO2/HfO2/TaN stacks. We observe a correlation between the mobility degradation and the interfacial re-growth possible with the thermal budget employed. The mobility degradation arises from an increase of defects, both within the interface layer (IL) and the high-kappa bulk, as detected by both pulsed current-voltage and charge-pumping measurements. Two junction activation processes have been applied: a conventional process (peak temperature of 1000 degC spike for t=1 s) and a Solid Phase Epitaxial Re-growth (SPER) (peak temperature of 650 degC for t=60 s). For 1000 degC spike-annealed films, where the highest SiO2/IL defect density is observed, the consequent mobility degradation is explained by a transition region between HfO2 and the IL which increases for high-temperature processing  相似文献

Micro-Raman spectroscopy and emission microscopy are used to study the crystallographic phase of 0.25 μm wide TiSi2 lines. It is demonstrated for the first time that emission microscopy allows very fast, simple, non-destructive mapping of the local phase of TiSi2. The results show that there is a direct correlation between the resistance variation of these lines and the local occurrence of the high resistivity C49 phase of TiSi2 in the lines.  相似文献

We propose a voxel-based nonrigid registration algorithm for temporal subtraction of two-dimensional thorax X-ray computed radiography images of the same subject. The deformation field is represented by a B-spline with a limited number of degrees of freedom, that allows global rib alignment to minimize subtraction artifacts within the lung field without obliterating interval changes of clinically relevant soft-tissue abnormalities. The spline parameters are constrained by a statistical deformation model that is learned from a training set of manually aligned image pairs using principal component analysis. Optimization proceeds along the transformation components rather then along the individual spline coefficients, using pattern intensity of the subtraction image within the automatically segmented lung field region as the criterion to be minimized and applying a simulated annealing strategy for global optimization in the presence of multiple local optima. The impact of different transformation models with varying number of deformation modes is evaluated on a training set of 26 images using a leave-one-out strategy and compared to the manual registration result in terms of criterion value and deformation error. Registration quality is assessed on a second set of validation images by a human expert rating each subtraction image on screen. In 85% of the cases, the registration is subjectively rated to be adequate for clinical use.  相似文献
