Functional integrals in the statistical theory of turbulence and the burgers model equation

The functional integrals appearing in master equations for turbulent flow of an incompressible fluid and for the Burgers model equation are treated. A possible way is described to define the integration properly and related problems are discussed. For the simple example of the Burgers model equation of turbulence some results are presented.     

Three years of data-processing in an analytical laboratory

Summary In 1970 we started data-processing in the analytical laboratory of Farbwerke Hoechst AG with a medium-sized process-computer. In the meantime applications widened from the original processing of GC-data to other instruments. The problems of these applications are discussed, as are the consequences to the necessary hardware and software. Making use of the vast advances in semiconductor technology, a new concept is tested now: The application of micro-processors for data-acquisition and-reduction, leaving the final evaluation and coordination to the larger processor.     

Analytical treatment of plasma injected into an illuminated photoconductor

An analytical treatment of optically generated carriers in a double injection structure is given. The quasineutrality approximation is used, and both recombination through traps (constant lifetime) and bimolecular recombination are considered.
