Additional experimental evidence of rotary resonance effects for multiple-quantum coherence conversion in a spin-5/2 system is presented. Two-dimensional plots of the relative efficiency of MQ excitation and conversion are given as a function of radio frequency (rf) amplitude and pulse width. Data are presented for the excitation of five-quantum coherence (5QC), as well as for 5QC to three-quantum coherence (3QC) conversion, 5QC to IQC (the central transition coherence) conversion, and 3QC to IQC conversion. A two-fold increase in the signal-to-noise ratio is achieved by substituting low amplitude rf pulses in place of hard rf pulses for 5QC excitation and 5QC to 3QC conversion in a mixed multiple-quantum magic angle spinning (MAS) (MMQMAS) experiment. The anisotropic line shape for the low-amplitude rf pulse version of the MMQMAS experiment was observed to be distorted from the MAS line shape. The cause and implications of the distortion are discussed.  相似文献

The field-ion microscope has been used in a pilot investigation of the damage caused to tungsten surfaces following bombardment with low-energy helium ions. Such effects could be important because the first wall of a fusion reactor will have to withstand high doses of these particles. The damage observed following bombardment with total doses in the range 1013 to 5 × 1018 ions cm?2 has been found to be dose dependent. These results have then been related to those derived from studies using more conventional techniques and this has led to the conclusion that the origin of the observed damage lies in the formation of near-surface gas bubbles and surface blisters.  相似文献

We report a solution-phase annealing of spherical Co nanocrystals synthesized in reverse micelles and coated with dodecanoic acid. The deposition of a drop of solution on a transmission electron microscope grid shows that a progressive increase in the temperature to 316 °C results in the progressive crystallographic transition from a polycrystalline and probably face-centered cubic Co phase to the single-crystalline hexagonal close-packed (hcp) Co phase. These nanocrystals are highly stable against oxidation and coalescence. We stress that, to our knowledge, this constitutes the first example in the literature of pure hcp-Co spherical single crystals dispersed in solution. These nanocrystals can be freely manipulated and, due to their low size dispersion, can self-organize on various substrates.  相似文献
