Nano-hydroxyapatite (HA)/poly(l-lactide) (PLLA) composite microspheres with relatively uniform size distribution were prepared by a solid-in-oil-in-water
(s/o/w) emusion solvent evaporation method. The encapsulation of the HA nanopaticles in microshperes was significantly improved
by grafting PLLA on the surface of the HA nanoparticles (p-HA) during emulsion process. This procedure gave a possibility
to obtain p-HA/PLLA composite microspheres with uniform morphology and the encapsulated p-HA nanoparticle loading reached
up to 40 wt% (33 wt% of pure HA) in the p-HA/PLLA composite microspheres. The microstructure of composite microspheres from
core-shell to single phase changed with the variation of p-HA to PLLA ratios. p-HA/PLLA composite microspheres with the diameter
range of 2–3 μm were obtained. The entrapment efficiency of p-HA in microspheres could high up to 90 wt% and that of HA was
only 13 wt%. Surface and bulk characterizations of the composite microspheres were performed by measurements such as wide
angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) and

The technique of electrospinning offers the advantage of growing nanowires in bulk quantities in comparison with traditional methods. We report optical studies of polycrystalline zinc oxide (ZnO) nanofibers (∼100 nm thick and 5 μm long) deposited by electrospinning. Photoluminescence from the nanofibers shows a near-ultraviolet (near-UV) peak corresponding to near-band-edge emission and a strong broad peak in the visible region from oxygen antisite and interstitial defects. Temperature-dependent photoluminescence spectroscopy reveals that different carrier recombination mechanisms are dominant at low temperature. Our Raman spectroscopy results demonstrate that characterization of the quasimodes of longitudinal optical (LO) and transverse optical (TO) phonons present in an ensemble of polycrystalline nanofibers tilted at various angles in addition to the dominant E 2(high) mode provides a promising technique for assessing the quality of such randomly oriented nanowires. 相似文献

Sn whisker growth behavior, over periods of time up to 10,080 h at room temperature, was examined for Sn and Sn-Cu, Sn-Ag, Sn-Bi, and Sn-Pb coatings electroplated on copper in 2 μm and 5 μm thicknesses to understand the effects of the alloying elements on whisker formation. Sn-Ag and Sn-Bi coatings were found to significantly suppress Sn whisker formation compared with the pure Sn coatings, whereas whisker growth was enhanced by Sn-Cu coatings. In addition, annealed Sn and Sn-Pb coatings were found to suppress Sn whisker formation, as is well known. Compared with the 2-μm-thick coatings, the 5-μm-thick coatings had high whisker resistance, except for the Sn-Cu coating. Whisker growth was correlated with coating crystal texture and its stability during storage, crystal grain microstructure, and the formation of intermetallic compounds at Sn grain boundaries and substrate–coating interfaces. 相似文献

In the case of video streaming over wireless channels, burst errors may lead to serious video quality degradation. By jointly exploiting the scheduling mechanism on different communication layers, this paper proposes a quality-aware cross-layer scheduling scheme to achieve unequal error control for each Latency-constraint Frame Set (LFS) of a video stream. After a network-layer agent at base station firstly utilizes the network-layer packet scheduling to provide packet-granularity importance classification for the current LFS, a link-layer agent at base station further utilizes the Radio-Link-Unit (RLU) scheduling to implement finer selective retransmission of the current LFS. Under scheduling delay and bandwidth constraints, the proposed scheme can be aware of the application-layer quality and time-varying channel conditions, and hence burst errors can simply be shifted to lower-priority transmission units in the current LFS. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme has strong robustness against burst errors, and thus improves the overall received quality of the video stream over wireless channels. 相似文献

Molecular dynamics simulations of the structural and mechanical properties of single-crystalline CoSb3 have been carried out at room temperature. Special emphasis was given to the surface effect. Four different boundary conditions were applied to represent a wide range of surface-atom fractions. The LAMMPS program in conjunction with a multibody potential was employed. First, free relaxation was performed to obtain the corresponding stable configurations. The atomic rearrangements and energy distributions were observed. Then, uniaxial tensile deformation was simulated at a constant strain rate. The stress–strain responses and structural evolutions were examined during the process. Comparison of simulation results between different boundary conditions was carefully made. It was found that, when the scale of the single-crystalline CoSb3 model becomes nanometric and the fraction of the surface atoms increases, the mechanical performance becomes substantially worse. Nonetheless, the deformation mechanism and intrinsic mechanical nature are very similar. 相似文献

Thermoelectric materials have received much attention recently from the viewpoint of global environmental issues and effective utilization of energy resources. Especially those effective at relatively low temperature, such as below 100°C, which are usually abandoned without use, have become noteworthy recently. From this point of view, organic thermoelectric materials are most attractive, because they could be prepared at low cost and applied in various locations due to their flexibility. We have investigated the thermoelectric properties of organic conducting polymers such as polyaniline, polypyrrole, and polyphenylenevinylene, and succeeded in increasing the thermoelectric performance by selecting dopants, stretching conducting films, etc. Recently we have focused on new systems of organic–inorganic hybrid thermoelectric materials. Herein we present the preparation of a novel system of hybrids of polyaniline and bismuth(III) telluride nanoparticles, starting from bismuth(III) chloride and tetrachlorotellurium by using polyvinylpyrrolidone as a protecting reagent, as well as their thermoelectric properties. The hybrids prepared by this particular method showed much higher thermoelectric performance than the starting organic conducting polymer. 相似文献

Gallium arsenide (GaAs) was deposited by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition in a horizontal quartz reactor tube using trimethylgallium and arsine at 400°C to 500°C. Nucleation time and deposition rate were monitored using in situ laser reflectometry. This allowed differentiation between film and parasitic growth, which was not possible with other optical techniques. An absolute reflectance model was developed using measurements prior to GaAs deposition, and then employed to calculate values for GaAs on quartz. Detected reflectance intensities during experimental GaAs deposition were low compared with the model due to three-dimensional island growth, causing scattering of the incident laser radiation. 相似文献

A sharp interface model has been developed to model intermediate-phase growth under the influence of electromigration in a binary system. Simulation results show that the phase growth rate depends on both the magnitude and the direction of the applied current. With the current density fixed, at early times, there is a parabolic growth behavior for the intermediate phase, while at longer times, there is a linear phase growth behavior when the electron flow aids diffusion of atoms; however, a limiting thickness is found when the electron flow hinders diffusion. An electrode material based on polypyrrole (PPy) doped with graphene oxide (GO) sheets was synthesized via in situ polymerization of pyrrole in the presence of GO in various proportions (5% and 10%). The synthesized samples were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) absorption spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), x-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, and electrical conductivity measurements. FTIR spectroscopy and XRD revealed the interaction between GO and PPy. The direct-current (DC) electrical conductivity (75.8 S/cm) of the prepared composites was dramatically enhanced compared with pure PPy (1.18 S/cm). High specific capacitance of PPy/GO composite of 421.4 F/g was obtained in the potential range from 0 V to 0.50 V at 2 mA compared with 237.2 F/g for pure PPy by galvanostatic charge–discharge analysis. Incorporation of GO into the PPy matrix has a pronounced effect on the electrical conductivity and electrochemical capacitance performance of PPy/GO nanocomposites. 相似文献
