Novel AB2‐type azide monomers such as 3,5‐bis(4‐methylolphenoxy)carbonyl azide (monomer 1) , 3,5‐bis(methylol)phenyl carbonyl azide (monomer 2) , 4‐(methylol phenoxy) isopthaloyl azide (monomer 3) , and 5‐(methylol) isopthaloyl azide (monomer 4) were synthesized. Melt and solution polymerization of these monomers yielded hydroxyl‐ and amine‐terminated hyperbranched polyurethanes with and without flexible ether groups. The structures of theses polymers were established using FT‐IR and NMR spectroscopy. The molecular weights (Mw) of the polymers were found to vary from 3.2 × 103 to 5.5 × 104 g/mol depending on the experimental conditions used. The thermal properties of the polymers were evaluated using TGA and DSC: the polymer obtained from monomer ( 1 ) exhibited lowest Tg and highest thermal stability and the polymer obtained from monomer ( 2 ) registered the highest Tg and lowest thermal stability. All the polymers displayed fluorescence maxima in the 425–525 nm range with relatively narrow peak widths indicating that they had pure and intense fluorescence. Also, the polymers formed charge transfer (CT) complexes with electron acceptor molecules such as 7,7,8,8‐tetracyano‐quino‐dimethane (TCNQ) and 1,1,2,2‐tetracyanoethane (TCNE) as evidenced by UV‐visible spectra. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The onset of Marangoni convection in a non-reactive binary fluid layer in the presence of throughflow and Soret effect is determined. The bottom boundary of the fluid layer is assumed to be either conducting or insulating to temperature and solute concentration perturbations while the top boundary is free and insulating. The linear stability analysis is followed and an exact solution is obtained for the corresponding eigenvalue problem by assuming that stationary convection is exhibited at the neutral state. The contribution from the Soret effect is seen only when the throughflow is weak, but however for a wider range of upward throughflow when the bottom boundary is conducting. The instability gets advanced/delayed when the Soret parameter assumes negative/positive values. The results agree well with the existing results in the literature for some particular cases.  相似文献

Numerical simulations of bubble oscillations in liquid water irradiated by an ultrasonic wave are performed under the experimental condition for single-bubble sonochemistry reported by Didenko and Suslick [Nature (London) 418, 394 (2002)]. The calculated number of OH radicals dissolving into the surrounding liquid from the interior of the bubble agrees sufficiently with the experimental data. OH radicals created inside a bubble at the end of the bubble collapse gradually dissolve into the surrounding liquid during the contraction phase of an ultrasonic wave although about 30% of the total amount of OH radicals that dissolve into the liquid in one acoustic cycle dissolve in 0.1 micros at around the end of the collapse. The calculated results have indicated that the oxidant produced by a bubble is not only OH radical but also O atom and H2O2. It is suggested that an appreciable amount of O atom is produced by bubbles inside a standing-wave-type sonochemical reactor filled with water in which oxygen is dissolved as in the case of air.  相似文献

In search of potential anticancer drug candidates in ruthenium complexes, a series of mononuclear ruthenium complexes of the type [Ru(phen)(2)(nmit)]Cl(2) (Ru1), [Ru(bpy)(2)(nmit)]Cl(2) (Ru2), [Ru(phen)(2)(icpl)]Cl(2) (Ru3), Ru(bpy)(2)(icpl)]Cl(2) (Ru4) (phen=1,10-phenanthroline; bpy=2,2'-bipyridine; nmit=N-methyl-isatin-3-thiosemicarbazone, icpl=isatin-3-(4-Cl-phenyl)thiosemicarbazone) and [Ru(phen)(2)(aze)]Cl(2) (Ru5), [Ru(bpy)(2)(aze)]Cl(2) (Ru6) (aze=acetazolamide) and [Ru(phen)(2)(R-tsc)](ClO(4))(2) (R=methyl (Ru7), ethyl (Ru8), cyclohexyl (Ru9), 4-Cl-phenyl (10), 4-Br-phenyl (Ru11), and 4-EtO-phenyl (Ru12), tsc=thiosemicarbazone) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, (1)H-NMR and FAB-MS. Effect of these complexes on the growth of a transplantable murine tumor cell line (Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma) and their antibacterial activity were studied. In cancer study the effect of hematological profile of the tumor hosts have also been studied. In the cancer study, the complexes Ru1-Ru4, Ru10 and Ru11 have remarkably decreased the tumor volume and viable ascitic cell count as indicated by trypan blue dye exclusion test (p<0.05). Treatment with the ruthenium complexes prolonged the lifespan of Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (EAC) bearing mice. Tumor inhibition by the ruthenium chelates was followed by improvements in hemoglobin, RBC and WBC values. All the complexes showed antibacterial activity, except Ru5 and Ru6. Thus, the results suggest that these ruthenium complexes have significant antitumor property and antibacterial activity. The results also reflect that the drug does not adversely affect the hematological profiles as compared to that of cisplatin on the host.  相似文献

In the present work hydrolysis of methyl benzoate was carried out using aqueous sodium hydroxide solution at room temperature in the presence of ultrasound since otherwise the same reaction takes place at relatively high temperature. Also, the above hydrolysis reaction was investigated at a relatively larger scale with the variation in parameters influencing the emulsification process and hence the reaction rates. It has been observed that the position of ultrasound source on the liquid-liquid interface is a crucial parameter affecting the two-phase emulsification rates. The poor bulk mixing occurring in the presence of ultrasound alone with an increase in the volume of the reaction mixture and its consequent effect on the reaction kinetics has been conclusively established. These studies have shown that the use of ultrasound with mechanical stirring can result in substantial reduction in the overall power consumption, especially for reaction systems like hydrolysis that do not require very high temperatures and pressures generated by cavitation.  相似文献
