Current models of customer lifetime value (CLV) consider the discounted value of profits that a customer generates over an expected lifetime of relationship with the firm. This practice can be misleading in the financial services markets because it ignores the risk posed by the customer (such as delinquency and default). Specifically, in the credit card market, the correlation between revenue and risk is positive. Therefore, firms need to adjust a customer’s profits for the associated risk before developing a measure of customer lifetime value. We propose a new measure, risk adjusted revenue (RAR), that can incorporate multiple sources of risk and demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed measure in correctly assessing the value of a customer in the credit card market. The model can be extended to compute risk adjusted lifetime value (RALTV). We use the RAR metric to understand the effectiveness of different modes of acquisition, and of retention strategies such as affinity cards and reward cards. We find that both reward- and affinity-cardholders generate higher RAR than non-reward and non-affinity cardholders respectively. The ordering of different modes of acquisition with respect to RAR (in decreasing order) is as follows: Internet, direct mail, telesales, and direct selling.  相似文献

The tunnel diode integrated rectangular patch antenna is investigated, with emphasis mainly on noise considerations. Noise power is calculated and is found to increase very slightly with frequency for both GaAs and Ge tunnel diode loaded patches. Noise figure and noise temperature also increase with frequency for GaAs and Ge tunnel diode loaded patches. Loading the patch with the tunnel diode increases the effective noise figure and effective noise temperature of the patch, degrading the performance of the communication system significantly.  相似文献

One of the main challenges of spectrum sensing (SS) in the cognitive radio network (CRN) is selection of threshold for captivating the sensing decision, and such an issue becomes more challenging especially at low signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) because it affects the sensing performance and throughput of cognitive user (CU). However, the sensing decision of individual CU may not be accurate due to fading effects in the sensing environment, and significant improvement is accomplished with the cooperation of users. Therefore, in this paper, we have investigated the performance of energy detector SS (EDSS) technique in the CRN under fading environment with cooperative and noncooperative SS scenario. Further, we have introduced the concept of critical SNR ( γ c ) to select the appropriate threshold and based on which the algorithms are proposed to enhance the throughput and reduce the total error (sensing error) probability of CU at different SNR (γ). From the results, we have accomplished that at the low SNR region (γγ c ), throughput is maximum with constant false‐alarm rate (CFAR) threshold selection approach in the cooperative scenario while in the high SNR region (γ >   γ c ), its value is maximum with minimizing the error probability (MEP) threshold selection approach in the noncooperative scenario. Moreover, the sensing error is reduced with cooperation, and threshold selection with MEP approach outperforms CFAR approach for γγ c . Further, the proposed approach outperforms the other approaches in terms of throughput and sensing error (total error) probability in the Rayleigh and Nakagami‐m fading environments.  相似文献

An efficient domino approach has been developed for the synthesis of coumarin aryl sulfides utilizing alkenyl arenes derived electrophilic alkenyl p-benzoquinones through Michael addition of thiols followed by cyclization. The reaction proceeds regioselectively under mild conditions within short reaction time to afford the title products in good to excellent yields. An efficient method is developed for the synthesis of the modified triprenylated chalcone, munchiwarin (1), isolated from the roots of Crotalaria medicagenia. The synthesis of 1 utilizes a Claisen-Schmidt condensation between 2,4-dihydroxy-3,5-C-diprenyl acetophenone and 4-methoxy benzaldehyde in the presence of Ba(OH)2 to yield the unusual chalcone 5 that contains a nine-membered ether ring. Further prenylation of 5 with 1-bromo-3-methylbut-2-ene and its subsequent demethylation with BBr3 gave munchiwarin (1).  相似文献

Graphene oxide supported Cu (II) ligand complex (GO@AP/L-Cu) has been synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, Raman, PXRD, UV–Visible, TGA, XPS, FESEM, TEM, EDAX, Elemental mapping, BET, CHNS and AAS analysis. The complex has been found to be efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst for the N-arylation and C-H activation reactions, both the catalytic reactions were found to be simple, cleaner and give high yields (~ 90%) of product. The catalyst can be easily filtered out from the reaction mixture and reused up to four times without significant loss of catalytic activity. The reported method is economical and novel in the sense that aqueous medium was used for both the reactions and for the stability of the catalyst. All isolated organic products were fully characterized on the basis of their physical and spectral data.  相似文献
