α‐Chymotrypsin (α‐CT) activity was measured in aqueous buffer with the following alkyltriphenylphosphonium bromide surfactants in the series cetyl, tetradecyl, and dodecyl as a tail length. For the sake of comparison with mixed micellar investigation on activity of α‐CT, cationic cetyltriphenylphosphonium bromide (CTPB) and nonionic surfactant Triton X‐100, Brij‐56, Brij‐35, Tween 20, and Igepal Co‐210 have been used. The p‐nitrophenyl acetate (PNPA) hydrolysis rate was determined at the surfactant concentration of both cationic and mixed micellar systems by a UV–vis spectrophotometer. The catalytic reaction follows the Michaelis–Menten mechanism, and the catalytic efficiency (kcat/KM) was evaluated for both homogeneous and mixed‐micellar media. The maximum catalytic efficiency was observed at 5 mM concentration of CTPB, but the highest catalytic efficiency, 572 M?1 s?1, was measured in the presence of mixed micellar (7.5 mM CTPB + 2.5 mM Tween‐20). The fluorescence (FL) spectra showed the differences of α‐CT conformations in the presence of cationic surfactants. The FL results suggest that the influence of cationic surfactant on proteolysis arises from the interaction with the α‐CT. The binding constant, ksv, of α‐CT with cationic aggregates was determined in the buffer using the Stern–Volmer equation by the fluorescence spectroscopic approach.  相似文献

We report a Ni-catalyzed regioselective α-carbonylalkylarylation of vinylarenes with α-halocarbonyl compounds and arylzinc reagents. The reaction works with primary, secondary, and tertiary α-halocarbonyl molecules, and electronically varied arylzinc reagents. The reaction generates γ,γ-diarylcarbonyl derivatives with α-secondary, tertiary, and quaternary carbon centers. The products can be readily converted to aryltetralones, including a precursor to Zoloft, an antidepressant drug.  相似文献

Polymer based conductive and transparent thin films are an important class of functional materials at the heart of flexible organic electronic devices. These flexible films are prone to degradation and to mechanical instability leading to the formation of blisters, wrinkles, and cracks. This is detrimental to their use especially in the case of multilayer devices. Here, it is shown that a simple water or solvent drop deposited on such films gives rise to a buckling instability and the formation of several folds due to the tendency of these films to swell in contact with the solvent. A phase diagram of the instability portraying its domain of existence, and thus the means to inhibit it, is proposed. By depositing drops on such films and observing the instability, material parameters such as the elastic modulus of the thin films or their energy of adhesion to the substrate can be estimated reliably. Further, the instability can be harnessed to pattern surfaces at low cost giving rise to percolated and more conductive pathways in the conductive polymer films under scrutiny.  相似文献

Lead halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have demonstrated great potential for realizing low‐cost and easily fabricated photovoltaics. At this juncture, power conversion efficiency and long‐term stability are two important factors limiting their transition. PSCs exhibit rapid environmental degradation since the perovskite layer is very sensitive to factors such as humidity, temperature, and ultraviolet light. Here, a novel successful approach is demonstrated that simultaneously improves the efficiency and stability of PSCs. This approach relies on incorporation of a dual‐functional polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)–fullerene complex into the perovskite layer. The fullerene within perovskite layer forms a localized dipole‐like electric field that favors electron–hole separation, resulting in significant improvement in current density and fill factor with conversion efficiency reaching 18.4%. The molecular‐scale coating of hydrophobic PMMA on the perovskite grain boundary effectively blocks moisture penetration into the perovskite, thereby, significantly improving the stability against moisture, heat, and light. The PSCs with PMMA–fullerene complex showed no photovoltaic performance degradation for 250 d and exhibited 60 times higher stability compared to the state‐of‐the‐art devices under continuous 1 sun illumination in ambient air.  相似文献

This paper shows the trade off between different modulation techniques such as multi level quadrature amplitude modulation, multi level phase shift keying, and multi level differential phase shift keying for upgrading direct detection optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems with possible transmission distance up to 15,000 km and total bit rate of 2.56 Tb/s. The 2.56 Tb/s signal is generated by multiplexing 64 OFDM signals with 40 Gb/s for each OFDM. Variations of optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR), signal to noise ratio (SNR), and bit error rate (BER) are studied with the variations of transmission distance. Maximum radio frequency power spectrum, and output electrical power after decoder are measured for different multi level modulation techniques with carrier frequency. It is observed that multi level QAM has presented better performance than multi level PSK and finally multi level DPSK in optical OFDM systems. Maximum output power after decoder is enhanced with both 32-PSK, and 64-QAM. Quadrature signal amplitude level at encoder is upgraded with 64-QAM. It is noticed that OSNR, SNR, and BER are improved using 4-QAM OFDM system than either QPSK or 4-DPSK.  相似文献

FAIR: a hardware architecture for real-time 3-D image registration   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Mutual information-based image registration, shown to be effective in registering a range of medical images, is a computationally expensive process, with a typical execution time on the order of minutes on a modern single-processor computer. Accelerated execution of this process promises to enhance efficiency and therefore promote routine use of image registration clinically. This paper presents details of a hardware architecture for real-time three-dimensional (3-D) image registration. Real-time performance can be achieved by setting up a network of processing units, each with three independent memory buses: one each for the two image memories and one for the mutual histogram memory. Memory access parallelization and pipelining, by design, allow each processing unit to be 25 times faster than a processor with the same bus speed, when calculating mutual information using partial volume interpolation. Our architecture provides superior per-processor performance at a lower cost compared to a parallel supercomputer.  相似文献
