We report direct generation of 81 nJ chirped pulses from a room-temperature, Kerr lens mode-locked Cr??:forsterite oscillator operating at 1258 nm. To increase the pulse energy, the pulse repetition rate of the short x-type resonator was lowered from 143 to 4.9 MHz by the addition of a q-preserving multipass cavity, which provided an additional effective optical path length of 59.4 m. The duration of the chirped pulses was around 5.5 ps with a spectral width of 21 nm. The pulses were externally compressed to 607 fs by using a diffraction grating pair. To our knowledge, this is the highest reported pulse energy directly generated from a room-temperature mode-locked Cr??:forsterite laser. 相似文献

Previous studies show that topological characteristics in IP networks significantly influence the performance of networking algorithms, which therefore should be systematically analyzed using diverse topologies prior to their deployments. In this paper, we present an elaborate topological dependency analysis of a multi‐topology routing‐based IP fast re‐route technology, namely, Multiple Routing Configurations (MRC), using a large topology pool with diverse properties. Through an extensive analysis using our automated topological analysis tool, we discover a significant correlation between the performance of MRC and topological characteristics. MRC needs to construct a higher number of virtual topologies to provide full alternate path coverage if a network topology tends to have more hub nodes, whose degree is much higher than the rest of the network. Inspired by our topological analysis results, we propose a new heuristic algorithm enhancing MRC. Numerical experiments demonstrate that our heuristic significantly improves the performance of MRC confirming the effectiveness of the systematic analysis of topological characteristics. We describe measurements and simulations of the enhanced transmittance by subwavelength hole arrays in silver films. The array period and hole size are systematically varied to give peak transmittances at wavelengths spanning a factor of 14. The spectra coincide when scaled using the array geometry and substrate refractive index alone, thus showing no significant dependence on the dielectric function of the metal. We argue that the spectra can be explained by interference of diffractive and resonant scattering. The resonant contribution comes from electromagnetic modes trapped in the film vicinity. 相似文献

Natural products (NPs) from microorganisms have been important sources for discovering new therapeutic and chemical entities. While their corresponding biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) can be easily identified by gene‐sequence‐similarity‐based bioinformatics strategies, the actual access to these NPs for structure elucidation and bioactivity testing remains difficult. Deletion of the gene encoding the RNA chaperone, Hfq, results in strains losing the production of most NPs. By exchanging the native promoter of a desired BGC against an inducible promoter in Δhfq mutants, almost exclusive production of the corresponding NP from the targeted BGC in Photorhabdus, Xenorhabdus and Pseudomonas was observed including the production of several new NPs derived from previously uncharacterized non‐ribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS). This easyPACId approach (easy Promoter Activated Compound Identification) facilitates NP identification due to low interference from other NPs. Moreover, it allows direct bioactivity testing of supernatants containing secreted NPs, without laborious purification. 相似文献

Sunflower agriculture is an important subsector that plays a key role in the economy of Turkey, contributing 1.38 million tonnes. The aim of this study is to investigate the levels of imidazolinone (IMI) group herbicides in Thrace Region, Turkey. In particular, we aimed to determine the residue levels of imazamox, a herbicide used in sunflower production in Thrace Region, in soil, different parts of plant, and seed. Five herbicides were identified in sunflower samples using solid–liquid extraction with gas chromatography–electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (GC–EI–MS) on single-quadruple instruments in selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode. The optimized conditions were found to be mobile-phase flow rate of 1 mL min?1 and injection volume of 3 μL in programmed temperature vaporization (PTV) solvent vent mode. The recovery of imazamox, imazaquin, imazethapyr, imazapyr, and imazapic from sunflower plant and soil was 89 and 99, 104 and 105, 92 and 93, 96 and 92, and 99 and 96%, respectively. 相似文献

A trend in developing biocompatible scaffolds for tissue engineering has been to seek an ideal single material for which a given cell type will exhibit favorable behavior. While an ideal single material has proven elusive, scaffold manufacture using combinations of specialist materials can produce more versatile structures. By controlling the percentage and architecture of material components, mechanical properties, cell attachment, and proliferation may be optimized for a given function. Three specialist materials, poly-ϵ-caprolactone (PCL), fibrin, and alginate, were incorporated into multi-component scaffolds for a series of experiments testing each component with culture of fibroblasts. The rigid and formable PCL provided structure, the fibrin pore-filler allowed for cell attachment, and alginate thread provided a nutrient transfer pathway in lieu of a vascular system. The efficacy of these scaffolds was judged on fibroblast distribution and population after 7-12 days of culture. 相似文献

Three new metal-organic frameworks [MOF-525, Zr(6)O(4)(OH)(4)(TCPP-H(2))(3); MOF-535, Zr(6)O(4)(OH)(4)(XF)(3); MOF-545, Zr(6)O(8)(H(2)O)(8)(TCPP-H(2))(2), where porphyrin H(4)-TCPP-H(2) = (C(48)H(24)O(8)N(4)) and cruciform H(4)-XF = (C(42)O(8)H(22))] based on two new topologies, ftw and csq, have been synthesized and structurally characterized. MOF-525 and -535 are composed of Zr(6)O(4)(OH)(4) cuboctahedral units linked by either porphyrin (MOF-525) or cruciform (MOF-535). Another zirconium-containing unit, Zr(6)O(8)(H(2)O)(8), is linked by porphyrin to give the MOF-545 structure. The structure of MOF-525 was obtained by analysis of powder X-ray diffraction data. The structures of MOF-535 and -545 were resolved from synchrotron single-crystal data. MOF-525, -535, and -545 have Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface areas of 2620, 1120, and 2260 m(2)/g, respectively. In addition to their large surface areas, both porphyrin-containing MOFs are exceptionally chemically stable, maintaining their structures under aqueous and organic conditions. MOF-525 and -545 were metalated with iron(III) and copper(II) to yield the metalated analogues without losing their high surface area and chemical stability. 相似文献

In optical and wireless communications systems, the goal is to reach 10 Gbps or above data rates. In order to support such extremely high data rates, the physical layer generally uses orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation. Unlike serial transmission of symbols, the OFDM modulation transmits data with many parallel sub-carriers, which help to provide high bandwidth. Field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and digital signal processors (DSPs) are usually employed to process OFDM blocks in real time. However, FPGAs and DSPs are not cost effective, and they are difficult to adapt to new standards. One of the most computationally intensive functions in OFDM systems is the fast Fourier transform (FFT) computation process. This paper aims to accelerate the FFT process to achieve high communication throughput in real time. Two parallel approaches are implemented for two different NVIDIA graphics processing unit (GPU) architectures. To obtain the best performance values, several optimizations are implemented. Our general purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU)-based FFT computation achieves up to 24 Gbps throughput in real time. 相似文献
