The information content of the myoelectric signal (MES) is commonly revealed by statistical measures in the time or frequency domain. Empirical analyses of the MES from a single motor unit have generally assumed that features are invariant with time. Theoretical and experimental work has been done to demonstrate how nonstationary behavior in the discharge statistics of a motor neuron may affect estimates of features extracted from the motor unit's contribution to the MES. Specifically, it has been shown that nonstationary behavior can markedly influence estimates of features describing motor neuron firing behavior and consequently, the low-frequency portion of the MES power spectral density. These results may help to explain the discrepancies in the literature which report empirical models of motor neuron firing statistics  相似文献

Rescaled mean spherical approximation (RMSA) has been used to calculate the structure factor for the aqueous suspension of polystyrene macroions with the interaction potential taken according to Derjaguin and Landau (1941) and Verwey and Overbeek (1948) (DLVO) model. The effects of charge over the macroion and size on the surface potential and therefore, the structure factor have been studied. The breakdown of the DLVO potential with an excess charge over the macroion (⩾800e) has been reported. The oscillation in the first peak height of structure factor versus wave vector curve with size has been correlated with the Debye length.  相似文献

A new fast algorithm is proposed to compute pseudodiscrete Wigner-Ville distribution (PDWVD) in real-time applications. The proposed algorithm uses the moving discrete Hartley transform to compute the Hilbert transform and thereby implements the PDWVD in real domain. The Poisson driven pth order autoregressive (PDAR(p )) process is defined as the output of a continuous-time autoregressive system, driven by a stationary Poisson impulse process. An explicit formula for estimating the density of the Poisson impulse process is derived by combining the second- and third-order cumulants of the discretized PDAR(p) process. Ground antennas are the major visible components of NASA's Deep Space Network (DSN). The role, key characteristics, and performance of these antennas in deep-space telecommunications are described. The system analyses and tradeoffs to optimize the overall ground-to-spacecraft link and to define future missions are elaborated from an antenna perspective. Overall performance of receiving systems is compared using the widely accepted G/T figure-of-merit, i.e., net antenna gain divided by the operating system noise temperature. Performance of past, present, and future antennas and receiving systems is discussed, including the planned development of a world-wide network of 34-m diameter beam-waveguide antennas. The need for multifrequency operation, presently in the S- and X-bands, and in the future in the Ka-band, is discussed. The resulting requirements placed on antenna technology are highlighted. The response time of the instrument is a crucial parameter for the measurement of accurate morphology and latency of the acoustic reflex. An improved impedance meter accounting for this particular problem was designed for the measurement of the contralateral acoustic reflex. The temporal characteristic of the measurement apparatus is shown, as well as an example of an application in a normal hearing individual. In linear finite-impulse-response filter design, it is desirable that the filter frequency response has linear phase (LP). In this brief, we investigate the LP concept for nonlinear Volterra filters. The LP condition of Volterra filters is defined in terms of its output spectrum in which the phase term introduced by the Volterra kernels is linear. It is shown that under certain symmetry conditions, the LP condition is satisfied by Volterra filters. Moreover, the LP condition for Volterra filters can be considered as an extension to the linear filter case.  相似文献
