Often, in economic decision problems such as credit loan approval or risk analysis, data mining models are required to be monotone with respect to the decision variables involved. If the model is obtained by a blind search through the data, it does mostly not have this property, even if the underlying database is monotone. In this correspondence, we present methods to enforce monotonicity of decision models. We propose measures to express the degree of monotonicity of the data and an algorithm to make data sets monotone. In addition, it is shown that decision trees derived from cleaned data perform better compared to trees derived from raw data.  相似文献

Biofilter technology is a cost-effective technique with an excellent efficiency for volatile organic compound (VOC) treatment. It is an attractive alternative to conventional air pollution abatement technologies. In this project, a combination of a Biosrubber and a Biofilter (called Biofilter System) was tested with VOC-laden exhaust air from a semiconductor fab. This Biofilter System meets all requirements of German and European law and protects the environment. The results of this project demonstrate that it is possible to establish this innovative and emerging technology in the semiconductor industry.  相似文献

The authors report the successful demonstration of a 1.0-μm gate InAlAs/InGaAs heterojunction FET (HFET) on top of thick InGaAs layers using lattice-matched molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). This scheme is compatible with metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) photodetector fabrication. The authors measured the performance of InAlAs/InGaAs HFETs from 0 to 40 GHz. Device performance is characterized by peak extrinsic transconductances of 390 mS/mm and as-measured cutoff frequencies up to 30 GHz for a nominal 1.0-μm-gate-length HFET. A 50-MBd active star fiber optical Iocal area network (LAN) and its optical combiner and mixing rod splitter are presented. The limited power budget and relatively large tapping losses of lightwave technology, which limit the use of fiber optics in tapped bus LAn topologies, are examined and proven tolerable in optical star topologies. The optical combiner and splitter, compononets necessary for such a network, have been fabricated and evaluated. The optical combiner, consisting, of a fiber bundle couled to a large-area p-i-n photodetector, and the mixing rod splitter, which had an insertion lodd of 19.8dB±1.4dB (including splitting loss), are shown to have suitable characteristics for the 50-MBd 32-node active optical star network. This star topology. proposed as an internetwork gateway which uses token-passing or polling protocol for packet switched data transmission, could be enhanced with wavelength-division multiplexing to provide both packet switched data and frequency division circuit switched real-time video and voice services network. Applications suggested for such a gateway or netwrok include health car information systems and factory automation.  相似文献

ac Conductivity measurements are carried out across the metal to insulator transition in NiAl0.7Cr0.7Fe0.6O4. The low frequency data is analyzed using Summerfield scaling theory for hopping conductivity. The exponent of the scaling behavior has significantly different values in the conducting and insulating regimes. The hopping frequency and the zero frequency conductivity are found to increase with temperature, slowly in the metallic regime and rapidly in the insulating regime.  相似文献
