On the basis of angle-scanned photoemission data recorded using unpolarized radiation, with high (E,k) resolution, and an extremely dense sampling of k space, we resolve the current controversy regarding the normal state Fermi surface (FS) in Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta). The true picture is simple, self-consistent, and robust: the FS is holelike, with the form of rounded tubes centered on the corners of the Brillouin zone. Two further types of features are also clearly observed: shadow FSs, which are most likely to be due to short range antiferromagnetic spin correlations, and diffraction replicas of the main FS caused by passage of the photoelectrons through the modulated Bi-O planes.  相似文献

Social networks in communities, markets, and societies self-organise through the interactions of many individuals. In this paper we use a well-known mechanism of social interactions — the balance of sentiment in triadic relations — to describe the development of social networks. Our model contrasts with many existing network models, in that people not only establish but also break up relations whilst the network evolves. The procedure generates several interesting network features such as a variety of degree distributions and degree correlations. The resulting network converges under certain conditions to a steady critical state where temporal disruptions in triangles follow a power-law distribution.  相似文献

The authors describe a method for the differentiation of penicillamine (PA) enantiomers by using CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) modified with β-cylodextrin (β-CD-CdSe/ZnS QDs). Selective enantiorecognition of L-PA and D-PA was accomplished by virtue of selective host-guest interaction between the PAs and the β-CD pockets on the QDs. The fluorescence intensity of the modified QDs decreases in the presence of L-PA. On the contrary, it increases in the presence of D-PA. These findings form the basis for a new method for recognition of PA enantiomers. Under optimized conditions, a linear relationship exists between fluorescence intensity and D-PA concentration in the 0.1 to 5.0 mg L?1 range, and between 0.8 and 5.0 mg L?1 for L-PA. Detection limits are 0.06 mg L?1 for D-PA, and 0.2 mg L?1 for L-PA. The potential of this method has been demonstrated by the determination of D-PA in pharmaceutical formulations and L-PA in (spiked) environmental samples.

High-temperature persistent spectral hole-burning (PSHB), up to room temperature, has been observed in a Eu 3+ -doped aluminosilicate glass using a high peak-power nanosecond dye laser. Spontaneous refilling as well as thermal cycling measurements show that at least two mechanisms, a fast and a slow one, are involved in our sample. We suggest that the fast or “easy” component may correspond to a non-photochemical local rearrangement of the host or to photoreduction of the Eu 3+ ions and that the second one leading to very stable photoproducts may correspond to transfer of an electron over a sizable distance through a several-step process. The mechanisms we suggest agree with light-induced hole refilling measurements. Line broadening mechanisms are discussed and the temperature-dependent part of the homogeneous width and of the spectral shift is interpreted in terms of a two-phonon (Raman) process involving pseudo-local phonons. 22 sludge samples were analyzed from three municipal wastewater treatment plants to assess both the occurrence and the temporal behavior of radioactivity during 8 sampling campaigns carried out over the period 2007–2009. As regards natural gamma emitters radionuclides from the natural 238U series (such as 234Th, 214Pb, 214Bi, 210Pb) and the 232Th series (such as 228Ac, 212Pb, 212Bi and 208Tl) and other natural gamma emitters such as 7Be, 210Pbu or 40K were measured. In the case of man-made radionuclides small amounts of 137Cs were found, while significant amounts of 131I were detected in some samples. Correlations were found between radionuclides with the same origin. No seasonal variation for the 238U and 232Th series was found in the studied period but 7Be and 210Pbu showed seasonal variation that was explained by the monthly rainfall. The internal and external hazard indices were calculated and the results indicate that the radiological characteristics of the sludge do not present a significant radiological risk and make them suitable for future applications.  相似文献
