We have studied the changes in the electronic structure and the superconducting transition temperature Tc of Mg(B1−xCx)2 alloys as a function of x with 0≤x≤0.3. Our density-functional-based approach uses the coherent-potential approximation to describe the effects of disorder, the Gaspari-Gyorffy formalism to estimate the electron-phonon matrix elements and the Allen-Dynes equation to calculate Tc in these alloys. We find that the changes in the electronic structure of Mg(B1−xCx)2 alloys, especially near the Fermi energy EF, come mainly from the outward movement of EF with increasing x, and the effects of disorder in the B plane are small. In particular, our results show a sharp decline in both B and C px(y) states for 0.2≤x≤0.3. Our calculated variation in Tc of Mg(B1−xCx)2 alloys is in qualitative agreement with the experiments. 相似文献

Background
Thiazolidinedione is a pentacyclic moiety having five membered unsaturated ring system composed with carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur molecules at 1 and 3 position of the thiazole ring and widely found throughout nature in various form. They favourably alter concentration of the hormones secreted by adipocytes, particularly adiponectin. They also increase total body fat and have mixed effects on circulating lipids. Thiazolidinedione nucleus is present in numerous biological moieties and has different pharmacological activities likes, e.g. antimalarial, antimicrobial, antimycobacterial, anticonvulsant, antiviral, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and antituberculosis.Results and discussion
The synthesized compounds were screened for their in vitro antimicrobial potential against Gram (positive and negative) bacterial and fungal strains by tube dilution technique. In this series, compound 10 exhibited significant antimicrobial activity against B. subtilis and S. aureus with MIC?=?4.2?×?10?2 µM/ml, compound 15 showed significant activity against K. pneumonia with MIC?=?2.60?×?10?2 µM/ml and compound 4 displayed potent antibacterial activity against E. coli with MIC?=?4.5?×?10?2 µM/ml. Compound 10 had most potent antifungal activity against C. albicans and A. niger with MIC?=?4.2?×?10?2 µM/ml. Compounds 12 and 15 were found as most active antidiabetic agents having IC50?=?27.63 μg/ml and 22.35 μg/ml, respectively, using DPPH assay. Antioxidant activity results indicated that compounds 3 and 9 displayed good antioxidant agent with IC50?=?29.04 μg/ml and 27.66 μg/ml respectively, using α amylase assay.Conclusion
All the synthesized derivatives exhibited good antimicrobial, antidiabetic and antioxidant activities using specific methods then compared with mentioned standard drugs. Especially, compounds 3, 4, 9, 10, 12 and 15 displayed highest activity. Structure activity relationship demonstrated that presence of electron withdrawing group (o-NO2, p-Cl, p-Br) enhanced the antibacterial activity against E. coli as well as increased the antioxidant activity while the presence of electron releasing group (o/p-OCH3, 3,4,5-trimethoxy) enhanced the antibacterial activity against S. aureus, B. subtilis, S. typhi, K. pneumonia, C. albicans and A. niger as well as the antidiabetic activity.324.

Hemidesmus indicus (L.) R. Br. was extensively used as hypoglycaemic agent and significance of this plant on secondary complications of diabetes remained unknown. The present study was to investigate the anti-cataractous activity of H. indicus against streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic cataract in rodent model. Root extracts have been prepared and tested for inhibition of rat lens aldose reductase (AR) activity. In addition, its pharmacological potential has been investigated in STZ-induced diabetic cataract. Methanol extract of H. indicus-inhibited AR activity in vitro decreased the blood glucose levels, inhibited the AR activity and delayed the onset and progression of cataract in a dose-dependent manner in in vivo and the antioxidant markers have been normalised. Our results demonstrate that H. indicus has decrease the osmotic stress by inhibiting the AR activity and prevented the loss of antioxidants and delayed the progression of diabetic cataract in STZ-induced diabetic rats. 相似文献

The self‐assembly in aqueous solution of the well‐known cyclophane, cyclobis(paraquat‐p‐phenylene) (BB4+), and two cucurbit[7]uril (CB7) hosts around a simple hydroquinol‐based, diamine guest (GH22+) was investigated by 1H NMR and electronic absorption spectroscopies, electrospray mass spectrometry and DFT computations. The formation of a quaternary supramolecular assembly [GH22+⋅BB4+⋅ (CB7)2] was shown to be a very efficient process, which takes place not only because of the attractive forces between each of the hosts and the guest, but also because of the lateral interactions between the hosts in the final assembly. A set of DNA tetranucleotides, which are 3'- or 5'-end extended versions of GCA, was used as chiral selectors for the discrimination of enantiomers of alpha-amino acids. The [X+Y-2H](2-) ions of the 1:1 complexes were generated by electrospraying a mixture of tetranucleotide (X) and amino acid (Y) solution. Chiral discrimination was achieved by studying the collision-induced dissociation spectra of the [X+Y-2H](2-) ion and the ratio of relative abundance of precursor ion to that of the product ion was used to measure the extent of discrimination. Among the tetranucleotides used, GCAA and GGCA exhibited better discrimination, in which GCAA showed D-selectivity and GGCA showed L-selectivity for the studied amino acids. A series of diastereomeric 4S,5S,6R/S-tetrahydropyrano- and 3S,4S,5R/S-tetrahydrofuranochromenylamine derivatives (a/b isomers; 1-26) has been studied under electron ionization (EI) and chemical ionization (CI) conditions. The EI mass spectra of all diastereomeric compounds show two characteristic fragment ions, of which one is formed by retro-Diels-Alder (RDA) reaction from the molecular ion, retaining the charge on the diene fragment, and the other [M-(HNAr)]+ ion by a simple radical loss. The RDA process is more favorable in all b isomers, whereas the radical loss is dominant in all a isomers; based on these two ions it is easy to differentiate the two diastereomers. The collision-induced dissociation (CID) spectra of all the molecular ions also show the same trend, which reflects the stereoselectivity in the formation of the two characteristic fragment ions. The results of theoretical calculations performed are in accordance with the experimental observations. The CI experiments (methane and isobutane) on all the diastereomeric compounds also enabled the differentiation of the isomers. 相似文献

Oxidative reactions of VX type compounds and N,N-dialkylaminoethane-2-thiols that are precursors for VX compounds produce N,N-dialkylaminoethane-2-sulphonic acids, N(R(1))(R(2))-CH(2)-CH(2)SO(3)H (where R(1) and R(2) = methyl, ethyl, n-propyl and isopropyl, 1-10), as the degradation products, and these degradation products are considered as markers for the detection of chemicals listed in the schedules of Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) chemicals. Off-site detection of such degradation products in aqueous samples is an important task in the verification of CWC-related chemicals. Here we report a simple method involving the direct analysis of aqueous samples using positive and/or negative ion electrospray ionization (ESI) for the screening, detection and identification of N,N-dialkylaminoethane-2-sulphonic acids, avoiding sample preparation and chromatographic steps. The positive ion ESI mass spectra of all the compounds result in abundant [M+Na](+) ions, and the negative ion spectra show abundant [M-H](-) ions to confirm their molecular weight. The collision-induced dissociation spectra of [M+Na](+) and [M-H](-) give characteristic product ions by which it is easy to detect and identify all the studied N,N-dialkylaminoethane-2-sulphonic acids including those of isomeric compounds. The method is successfully applied to detect the spiked chemical, N,N-diisopropylaminoethane-2-sulphonic acid, present in a water sample received in a proficiency test. 相似文献
