From the reaction of 1H‐imidazole ( 1a ), 4,5‐dichloro‐1H‐imidazole ( 1b ) and 1H‐benzimidazole ( 1c ) with p‐cyanobenzyl bromide ( 2 ), symmetrically substituted N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) [( 3a–c )] precursors, 1‐methylimidazole ( 5a ), 4,5‐dichloro‐1‐methylimidazole ( 5b ) and 1‐methylbenzimidazole ( 5c ) with benzyl bromide ( 6 ), non‐symmetrically substituted N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) [( 7a–c )] precursors were synthesized. These NHC? precursors were then reacted with silver(I) acetate to yield the NHC‐silver complexes [1,3‐bis(4‐cyanobenzyl)imidazole‐2‐ylidene] silver(I) acetate ( 4a ), [4,5‐dichloro‐1,3‐bis(4‐cyanobenzyl)imidazole‐2‐ylidene] silver(I) acetate ( 4b ), [1,3‐bis(4‐cyanobenzyl)benzimidazole‐2‐ylidene] silver(I) acetate ( 4c ), (1‐methyl‐3‐benzylimidazole‐2‐ylidene) silver(I) acetate ( 8a ), (4,5‐dichloro‐1‐methyl‐3‐benzylimidazole‐2‐ylidene) silver(I) acetate ( 8b ) and (1‐methyl‐3‐benzylbenzimidazole‐2‐ylidene) silver(I) acetate ( 8c ) respectively. The four NHC‐precursors 3a–c, 7c and four NHC–silver complexes 4a–c and 8c were characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction. The preliminary antibacterial activity of all the compounds was studied against Gram‐negative bacteria Escherichia coli, and Gram‐positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus using the qualitative Kirby‐Bauer disc‐diffusion method. All NHC–silver complexes exhibited medium to high antibacterial activity with areas of clearance ranging from 4 to 12 mm at the highest amount used, while the NHC‐precursors showed significantly lower activity. In addition, all NHC–silver complexes underwent preliminary cytotoxicity tests on the human renal‐cancer cell line Caki‐1 and showed medium to high cytotoxicity with IC50 values ranging from 53 ( ± 8) to 3.2 ( ± 0.6) µM. These NHC precursors were then reacted with silver(I) acetate (AgOAc) to yield the NHC–silver acetate complexes (acetato‐κO){1,3‐bis[4‐(methoxycarbonyl)benzyl]imidazol‐2‐ylidene}silver ( 4a ), (acetato‐κO){4,5‐dichloro‐1,3‐bis[4‐(methoxycarbonyl)benzyl]‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐imidazol‐2‐yl}silver ( 4b ), (acetato‐κO){1,3‐bis[4‐(methoxycarbonyl)benzyl]‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐benzimidazol‐2‐yl}silver ( 4c ), (acetato‐κO){1‐[4‐(methoxycarbonyl)benzyl]‐3‐methyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐imidazol‐2‐yl}silver ( 4d ), (acetato‐κO){4,5‐dichloro‐1‐[4‐(methoxycarbonyl)benzyl]‐3‐methyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐imidazol‐2‐yl}silver ( 4e ), and (acetato‐κO){1‐[4‐(methoxycarbonyl)benzyl]‐3‐methyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐benzimidazol‐2‐yl}silver ( 4f ), respectively. The three NHC–AgOAc complexes 4a, 4c , and 4d were characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. All compounds studied in this work were preliminarily screened for their antimicrobial activities in vitro against Gram‐positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, and Gram‐negative bacteria Escherichia coli using the qualitative disk‐diffusion method. All NHC–AgOAc complexes exhibited weak‐to‐medium antibacterial activity with areas of clearance ranging from 4 to 7 mm at the highest amount used, while the NHC precursors showed significantly lower activity. In addition, NHC–AgOAc complexes 4a and 4b , and 4d – 4f exhibited in preliminary cytotoxicity tests on the human renal‐cancer cell line Caki‐1 medium‐to‐high cytotoxicities with IC50 values ranging from 3.3±0.4 to 68.3±1 μM .  相似文献

Precipitation and solvent extraction methods have been investigated for the purification of plutonium from silver from the solution generated during oxidative dissolution of plutonium oxide using Ag(II) ions. Initial experiments have been carried out using thorium as representative of plutonium. Selecting the optimum conditions, the experiments were repeated with plutonium. The results revealed that Pu can be purified from silver ions either by precipitating silver as silver chloride or silver metal followed by Pu(IV) oxalate precipitation or by selective extraction of Pu(IV) into 20% Aliquat-336 or 30% TBP.  相似文献

Abstract  

Hydroarylation of styrenes with arenes/heteroarenes using KHSO4 (10 mol%) as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst is described. High conversion and selectivity (>99%) were observed for hydroarylation of styrenes with 2-naphthol at reflux temperature of 1,2-dichloroethane. Yields were quantitative with all styrenes. Moderate to good conversions and selectivities were achieved with other aromatics and heteroaromatics under the same conditions. Regeneration and reusability of KHSO4 were demonstrated. Addition of a trace amount of water could help to reactivate the KHSO4 through dispersion and to facilitate the hydroarylation reaction.  相似文献

The binding of riboflavin (RBF) to norfloxacin (NF) was investigated by spectroscopic techniques. The results revealed that RBF caused the fluorescence quenching of NF by complex formation. The binding parameters and corresponding thermodynamic parameters ΔH, ΔG and ΔS at different temperatures were calculated. The negative enthalpy (ΔH) and positive entropy (ΔS) values indicated that both hydrogen bond and hydrophobic forces played major roles in the binding of RBF to NF. The distance r between donor (NF) and acceptor (RBF) was obtained according to the Forster’s theory of non-radiative energy transfer. The method of quenching was successfully applied for the determination of riboflavin from pharmaceutical samples.  相似文献

The green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) has been proposed as a simple, eco-friendly and cost effective alternative to chemical and physical methods. The Rhus chinensis plant is one of the well studied medicinal plant and its galls find excellent clinical and therapeutic applications. The present study reports the use of water extract from galls of R. chinensis as a reducing agent and formation of AgNPs from silver nitrate solution by a green synthesis route. The AgNPs formation was observed visually by color change and the absorbance peak at 450 nm was observed by UV–Visible spectrophotometer. The shape, size, and morphology of synthesized AgNPs were monitored by transmission electron microscopy and field-emission scanning electron microscopy. The face centered cubic structure of AgNPs was confirmed by X-ray diffraction pattern and element composition by energy dispersive X-ray analysis. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy spectrum revealed that the presence of components acts as a reducing and capping agent. The antibacterial activity was performed using the agar well diffusion method. Minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration were determined by broth dilution and spread plate method respectively. Synthesized nanoparticles were spotted as triangular and hexagonal shape and the particle size was around 150 nm.  相似文献

This study reports the synthesis and photophysical properties of a star‐shaped, novel, fluoranthene–tetraphenylethene (TFPE) conjugated luminogen, which exhibits aggregation‐induced blue‐shifted emission (AIBSE). The bulky fluoranthene units at the periphery prevent intramolecular rotation (IMR) of phenyl rings and induces a blueshift with enhanced emission. The AIBSE phenomenon was investigated by solvatochromic and temperature‐dependent emission studies. Nanoaggregates of TFPE, formed by varying the water/THF ratio, were investigated by SEM and TEM and correlated with optical properties. The TFPE conjugate was found to be a promising fluorescent probe towards the detection of nitroaromatic compounds (NACs), especially for 2,4,6‐trinitrophenol (PA) with high sensitivity and a high Stern–Volmer quenching constant. The study reveals that nanoaggregates of TFPE formed at 30 and 70 % water in THF showed unprecedented sensitivity with detection limits of 0.8 and 0.5 ppb, respectively. The nanoaggregates formed at water fractions of 30 and 70 % exhibit high Stern–Volmer constants (Ksv=79 998 and 51 120 m ?1, respectively) towards PA. Fluorescence quenching is ascribed to photoinduced electron transfer between TFPE and NACs with a static quenching mechanism. Test strips coated with TFPE luminogen demonstrate fast and ultra‐low‐level detection of PA for real‐time field analysis.  相似文献

Separation of xenon and krypton is of industrial and environmental concern; the existing technologies use cryogenic distillation. Thus, a cost‐effective, alternative technology for the separation of Xe and Kr and their capture from air is of significant importance. Herein, we report the selective Xe uptake in a crystalline porous organic oligomeric molecule, noria, and its structural analogue, PgC‐noria, under ambient conditions. The selectivity of noria towards Xe arises from its tailored pore size and small cavities, which allows a directed non‐bonding interaction of Xe atoms with a large number of carbon atoms of the noria molecular wheel in a confined space.  相似文献

We have studied the dynamic structure of thin (approximately a few nanometers) liquid films of a nearly spherical, nonpolar molecule tetrakis(2-ethylhexoxy)silane (TEHOS) by using a combination of atomic force microscopy (AFM) and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS). Ultra-sensitive interferometer-based AFM was used to determine the stiffness (force gradient) and the damping coefficient of the liquid film. The experiments show oscillations in the damping coefficient with a period of approximately 1 nm, which is consistent with the molecular dimension of TEHOS as well as previous X-ray reflectivity measurements. Additionally, we performed FCS experiments for direct determination of the molecular dynamics within the liquid film. From the fluctuation autocorrelation curve, we measured the translational diffusion of the probe molecule embedded within the fluid film formed on a solid substrate. The autocorrelation function was best fitted with two components, which indicate that the dynamics are heterogeneous in nature. However, the heterogeneity is not as pronounced as had been previously observed for molecularly thin liquid films sandwiched between two solid substrates.  相似文献
