The effects of coincidence window and measuring volume size on two-component laser velocimeter measurement of turbulence
in an isothermal liquid flow through a concentric annular channel were studied. Three different coincidence windows (100–500 μs)
and three different measuring volume sizes (diameter, 5–9 wall units; spanwise length, 24–91 wall units) were used in a flow
of Reynolds number 31,500 and data density spanning the high end of intermediate to the low end of high (3–6). While no significant
effects of the coincidence window and measuring volume size were found on the time-mean velocity and turbulence intensities,
the streamwise Reynolds shear stress measured near a wall was found to be markedly affected by both. The smallest feasible
measuring volume along with an appropriate coincidence window provides good measurement of the shear stress.

This paper proposes an overcurrent protection (OCP) circuit for power MOSFETs employed in low voltage power converters. The proposed configuration requires only discrete components with a gate driver IC and uses the voltage drop across the device for overcurrent detection. It can operate independently in cycle-by-cycle shutdown and multiple cycle shutdown modes. In coordination with a micro-controller based driver IC input signal generator and controller, the proposed OCP circuit can also operate in a single cycle latch-up and hiccup OCP modes. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated experimentally at both, hard and soft fault conditions. By experimentation, it is shown that the proposed circuit can operate in various protection modes and capable of protecting a MOSFET in both, hard and soft fault conditions. 相似文献

In this work, the effect of crack tip constraint on near-tip stress and deformation fields in a ductile FCC single crystal is studied under mode I, plane strain conditions. To this end, modified boundary layer simulations within crystal plasticity framework are performed, neglecting elastic anisotropy. The first and second terms of the isotropic elastic crack tip field, which are governed by the stress intensity factor K and T-stress, are prescribed as remote boundary conditions and solutions pertaining to different levels of T-stress are generated. It is found that the near-tip deformation field, especially, the development of kink or slip shear bands, is sensitive to the constraint level. The stress distribution and the size and shape of the plastic zone near the crack tip are also strongly influenced by the level of T-stress, with progressive loss of crack tip constraint occurring as T-stress becomes more negative. A family of near-tip fields is obtained which are characterized by two terms (such as K and T or J and a constraint parameter Q) as in isotropic plastic solids. 相似文献

A strictly nonlinear state feedback control law is designed for an aeroelastic system to eliminate subcritical limit cycle oscillations. Numerical continuation techniques and harmonic balance methods are employed to generate analytical estimates of limit cycle oscillation commencement velocity and its sensitivity with respect to the introduced control parameters. The obtained estimates are used in a multiobjective optimization framework to generate optimal control parameters which maximize the limit cycle oscillation commencement velocity while minimizing the control cost. Numerical simulations are used to show that the assumed nonlinear state feedback law with the optimal control parameters successfully eliminates any existing subcritical limit cycle oscillations by converting it to supercritical limit cycle oscillations, thereby guaranteeing safe operation of the system in its flight envelope. 相似文献

device. In this investigation, the evolution of structural and morphological changes and their effect on electrochromic (EC)
properties of spray-deposited WO3 thin films are studied. Films of different morphologies were deposited from an ammonium tungstate precursor solution using
a novel pulsed spray pyrolysis technique (PSPT) on tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) coated glass substrates by varying quantity
of spraying solution. Interesting morphological transition from beads-to-wires-to-fibers as a function of quantity of sprayed
solution has been demonstrated. The porosity, crystallinity and “open” structures in the films consisting of beads, wires,
and fiber-like morphology enabled us to correlate these aspects to their EC performance. WO3 films comprising wire-like morphology (20 cc spraying quantity) exhibited better EC properties both in terms of coloration
efficiency (42.7 cm2/C) and electrochemical stability (103 colored/bleached cycles) owing to their adequate open structure, porosity, and amorphicity, compared with the films having

In this letter, we analyze the suitability of the double gate MOSFETs (DG MOSFETs) for RF-mixer applications from the point of optimizing the transconductance gain, power consumption, and area. Mixer topologies using the 0.13-/spl mu/m conventional MOSFETs, simultaneously driven DG MOSFETs (SDDG) and the independently driven DG MOSFETs (IDDG) are compared using extensive device simulations. In the frequency range 1-40 GHz, our simulation results show that the mixer circuits realized using the SDDG technologies show an order of magnitude lower power-area product, for a given transconductance gain, compared to the conventional and the IDDG technologies. 相似文献

This paper presents a new nonquasi-static (NQS) model for the MOSFET. The model is derived from physics and only relies on the very basic approximation needed for a charge-based model. To derive the model, a popular variational technique named Galerkin's Method has been used. The model proves to be very accurate even for extremely fast changes in the bias voltages. Simulation results show a very good match even when the rise time of the applied signal is smaller than the transit time of the device. 相似文献

In this paper, an algorithm for chemical non‐equilibrium hypersonic flow is developed based on the concept of energy relaxation method (ERM). The new system of equations obtained are studied using finite volume method with Harten–Lax–van Leer scheme for contact (HLLC). The original HLLC method is modified here to account for additional species and split energy equations. Higher order spatial accuracy is achieved using MUSCL reconstruction of the flow variables with van Albada limiter. The thermal equilibrium is considered for the analysis and the species data are generated using polynomial correlations. The single temperature model of Dunn and Kang is used for chemical relaxation. The computed results for a flow field over a hemispherical cylinder at Mach number of 16.34 obtained using the present solver are found to be promising and computationally (25%) more efficient. This paper proposes a subspace parameter estimation method which besides allowing for accommodating multiple PZTs in an optical interferometer permits for extracting in real time values of phase shifts between data frames at each pixel point. The technique enables to freely choose values of phase shifts between 0 and π. A generalized phase measurement algorithm allows for computing multiple phase information present in the interferometer. The method facilitates the use of spherical beams, addresses errors arising from the miscalibration of the phase shifting devices, and is capable of handling nonsinusoidal waveforms in an effective manner. Numerical simulations demonstrate that phase distributions can be measured with high accuracy even in the presence of noise. 相似文献
