The fully-oxidized surface that forms on (1 1 1) oriented Ni3Al single crystals, with and without Pt addition, at 300-900 K under oxygen pressures of ca. 10−7 Torr was studied using XPS, AES, and LEIS. Two main types of surfaces form, depending upon oxidation temperature. At low-temperature, the predominant oxide is NiO, capped by a thin layer of aluminum oxide, which we refer to generically as AlxOy. At high-temperature (i.e., 700-800 K), NiO is replaced by a thick layer of AlxOy. By comparing samples that contain 0, 10 and 20 at.% Pt in the bulk, we find that the effect of Pt is to: (1) reduce the maximum amount of both NiO and AlxOy; and (2) shift the establishment of the thick AlxOy layer to lower temperatures. Platinum also decreases the adsorption probability of oxygen on the clean surface. 相似文献

We demonstrate a 22 dB all-fiber amplifier at 546 nm using Er3+-doped fluoride fiber by forward upconversion pumping of a 974 nm laser diode. The structural and electronic properties of individual titanium oxide nanotubes have been studied using both empirical and ab initio calculations. Two different types of titanium oxide nanotubes (A-nanotube and B-nanotube) have been constructed and energy-minimized by molecular mechanics calculations. We found that the A-nanotubes are energetically more favorable than the B-nanotubes. The electronic band structure of the titanium oxide nanotubes was also calculated with respect to the tubule diameter and the tubule type using the ab initio method. The band gap of the A-nanotube was reduced by up to 60% as the tubule diameter decreases from 1.2 nm to 0.5 nm. 相似文献

We study the chaotic dynamics of a periodically modulated Josephson junction with damping. The general solution of the first-order perturbed equation is constructed by using the direct perturbation technique. It is theoretically found that the boundedness conditions of the general solution contain the Melnikov chaotic criterion. When the perturbation conditions cannot be satisfied, numerical simulations demonstrate that the system can step into chaos through a period doubling route with the increase of the amplitude of the modulating term. Mode gain spectrum is measured by the Fourier series expansion method for InAs/GaAs quantum-dot (QD) lasers with seven stacks of QDs at different injection currents. Gain spectra with distinctive peaks are observed at the short and long wavelengths of about 1210nm and 1300nm. For a QD laser with the cavity length of 1060μm, the peak gain of the long wavelength first increases slowly or even decreases with the injection current as the peak gain of the short wavelength increases quickly, and finally increases quickly before approaching the saturated values as the injection current further increases. 相似文献

We have investigated the evolution of the atomic quantum entropy and the entanglement of atom-photon in the system with competing k-photon and l-photon transitions by means of fully quantum theory, and examined the effects of competing photon numbers (k and l), the relative coupling strength between the atom and the two-mode field (A/g), and the initial photon number of the field on the atomic quantum entropy and the entanglement of atom-photon. The results show that the multiphoton competing transitions or the large relative coupling strength can lead to the strong entanglement between atoms and photons. O22−-doped NaCl crystals are colored electrolytically by using a pointed cathode and a flat anode at various temperatures and voltages, which mainly benefit from appropriate coloration temperatures and voltages as well as anode structure of used electrolysis apparatus. Characteristic OH−, U, V2m, UA, V2, V3, O2−-Va+ complex, F, R1, R2 and M absorption bands are observed in absorption spectra of the colored crystals. Production and conversion of color centers in electrolytic coloration is explained.
