The geometric component of the point spread function (PSF) of a gamma camera collimator can be determined analytically, and the penetration component can be calculated readily by numerical ray-tracing. A Monte Carlo simulation of photon transport which includes collimator scatter is developed. The simulation was implemented with an array processor which propagates up to 1024 photons in parallel, allowing accurate estimates of the total radial PSF in less than a day. The simulation was tested by imaging monoenergetic point sources of Tc-99m, Cr-51, and Sr-85 (140, 320, and 514 keV, respectively) on a General Electric Star Cam with low-energy, general-purpose, and medium-energy collimators. Comparisons of measured and simulated PSFs demonstrate the validity of the model and the significance of collimator scatter in the degradation of image quality.  相似文献

6-exo-Methylbicyclo[3.2.0]hepten-7-ones and their 2-alkylidene analogues are readily prepared from dialkyl squarates. These compounds undergo facial oxy-Cope ring expansions upon treatment with vinyllithium; the former leads to bicyclo[4.2. 1]non-1(4)-en-6-ones and the latter to the first examples of bicyclo[5.2.1]dec-1(10)-en-5-ones, compounds having exceptionally strained bridgehead double bonds. The transformations are controlled by the 6-exo-methyl group in the starting material along with the substituent at position-1 (bridgehead) which force attack of the lithium reagent from the concave face of the starting material, thus allowing the cyclopentenyl or alkylidene groups to participate in the sigmatropic event.  相似文献

Four stable carbenes, 1-tert-butyl-3,4-diaryl-1,2,4-triazol-5-ylidenes 1a-d, including new fluorine-containing compounds 1c,d, react with a malonic ester to afford heterocyclic zwitterionic compounds 5a-d. The reactions with more acidic compounds (ethyl acetoacetate, malononitrile and 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid) proceed with substrate deprotonation to form the respective azolium salts 6a-c. Microfluidic droplet sorting enables the high‐throughput screening and selection of water‐in‐oil microreactors at speeds and volumes unparalleled by traditional well‐plate approaches. Most such systems sort using fluorescent reporters on modified substrates or reactions that are rarely industrially relevant. We describe a microfluidic system for high‐throughput sorting of nanoliter droplets based on direct detection using electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS). Droplets are split, one portion is analyzed by ESI‐MS, and the second portion is sorted based on the MS result. Throughput of 0.7 samples s?1 is achieved with 98 % accuracy using a self‐correcting and adaptive sorting algorithm. We use the system to screen ≈15 000 samples in 6 h and demonstrate its utility by sorting 25 nL droplets containing transaminase expressed in vitro. Label‐free ESI‐MS droplet screening expands the toolbox for droplet detection and recovery, improving the applicability of droplet sorting to protein engineering, drug discovery, and diagnostic workflows.  相似文献

Background  

Mutations within the leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) gene account for a significant proportion of autosomal-dominant and some late-onset sporadic Parkinson's disease. Elucidation of LRRK2 protein function in health and disease provides an opportunity for deciphering molecular pathways important in neurodegeneration. In mammals, LRRK1 and LRRK2 protein comprise a unique family encoding a GTPase domain that controls intrinsic kinase activity. The expression profiles of the murine LRRK proteins have not been fully described and insufficiently characterized antibodies have produced conflicting results in the literature.  相似文献

We present an algorithm, based on approximation by Laguerre polynomials, for computing a point on the stable manifold of a stationary solution of an autonomous system. A superconvergence phenomenon means that the accuracy of our results is much higher than the usual spectral accuracy. Both the theory and the implementation of the method are considered. Finally, as an application of the algorithm, we describe a fully spectral approximation of homo- and heteroclinic orbits.

Lamotrigine (LTG) [3,5-diamino-6-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,4-triazine], an anticonvulsant and antidepressant drug Lamictal®, produces a (photo)toxic response in some patients. LTG absorbs UV light, generating singlet oxygen (1O2) with a quantum yield of 0.22 in CH2Cl2, 0.11 in MeCN and 0.01 in D2O. A small production of superoxide radical anion was also detected in acetonitrile. Thus, LTG is a moderate photosensitizer producing phototoxicity and oxidizing linoleic acid. LTG is a weak 1O2 quencher ( k q = 3.2 × 105  m −1 s−1 in MeCN), but its photodecomposition products in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) quenched 1O2 very efficiently. Upon intense UV irradiation from a xenon lamp, LTG was photobleached rapidly in DMSO and slowly in acetonitrile, alcohol and water. The rate increased significantly when laser pulses at 266 nm were employed. The photobleaching products generated 1O2 twice as strongly as LTG. Photobleaching was usually accompanied by the release of chloride anions, which increased in the presence of ascorbic acid. This suggests the formation of aryl radicals via dechlorination, a process which may be responsible for the photoallergic response observed in some patients. Our results demonstrate that LTG is a moderate generator of 1O2 prone to photodechlorination, especially in a reducing environment, which can contribute to the reported phototoxicity of LTG.  相似文献

The synthesis, structural characterization, and photophysical behavior of a 14-membered tetraazamacrocycle with pendant 4-dimethylaminobenzyl (DMAB) and 9-anthracenylmethyl groups is reported (L3, 6-((9-anthracenylmethyl)amino)-trans-6,13-dimethyl-13-((4-dimethylaminobenzyl)amino)-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane). In its free base form, this compound displays rapid intramolecular photoinduced electron transfer (PET) quenching of the anthracene emission, with both the secondary amines and the DMAB group capable of acting as electron donors. When complexed with Zn(II), the characteristic fluorescence of the anthracene chromophore is restored as the former of these pathways is deactivated by coordination. Importantly, it is shown that the DMAB group, which remains uncoordinated and PET active, acts only very weakly to quench emission, by comparison to the behavior of a model Zn complex lacking the pendant DMAB group, [ZnL2]2+ (Chart 1). By contrast, Stern-Volmer analysis of intermolecular quenching of [ZnL2]2+ by N,N-dimethylaniline (DMA) has shown that this reaction is diffusion limited. Hence, the pivotal role of the bridge in influencing intramolecular PET is highlighted.  相似文献

This article presents the results of two experiments investigating performance on a monaural envelope correlation discrimination task. Subjects were asked to discriminate pairs of noise bands that had identical envelopes (referred to as correlated stimuli) from pairs of noise bands that had envelopes which were independent (uncorrelated stimuli). In the first experiment, a number of stimulus parameters were varied: the center frequency of the lower frequency noise band in a pair, f1; the frequency separation between component noise bands; the duration of the stimuli; and the bandwidth of the component noise bands. For a long stimulus duration (500 ms) and a relatively wide bandwidth (100 Hz), subjects could easily discriminate correlated from uncorrelated stimuli for a wide range of frequency separations between the component noise bands. This was true both when f1 was 350 Hz, and when f1 was 2500 Hz. In each case, narrowing the bandwidth to 25 Hz, or shortening the duration to 100 ms, or both, made the task more difficult, but not impossible. In the second experiment, the level of the higher frequency noise band in a pair was varied. Performance did not decrease monotonically as the level of this band was decreased below the level of the other band, and only showed marked impairment when the level of the higher frequency band was at least 60 dB below that of the lower frequency band. The pattern of results in these two experiments is different from that which is obtained when the same stimulus parameters are varied in experiments investigating comodulation masking release (CMR). This suggests that the mechanisms underlying CMR and those underlying the discrimination of envelope correlation are not identical.  相似文献

An X-band FM-CW very-fine-range resolution scatterometer was used to acquire backscattering data for individual branches for a number of tree species. Using a model to describe the scattering source function and an experimental procedure for selected removal of plant parts, an estimation was made of η, the volume backscatter coefficient, and κ, the volume extinction coefficient. It is found that: (1) leaves are strong attenuators as well as scatterers; (2) the albedo (the ratio η/κ), at a given angle of incidence, is nearly independent of the tree type; (3) the tree limbs are good attenuators but rather poor scatterers; and (4) te albedo changes as a function of the angle of incidence and for deciduous trees is also a function of the season  相似文献
