Intramolecular Diels-Alder Reaction of Cyclohexa-2,4-dienones: Synthesis and Photochemical Reactions of Oxa-Homobrendanes

Synthesis of Oxa-homobrendanes having β, γ-unsaturated carbonyl chromophore and their photoreactions in singlet (¹S) and triplet (³T) excited states leading to novel bowl shaped molecules have been reported.     

Synthesis,characterization and microbiocidal studies of novel ionic liquid tagged Schiff bases

The synthesis of novel imidazolium ionic liquid, tagged Schiff, has been described. The synthesis was achieved in three steps from 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde by selective alkylation with 1,3-dibromopropane, followed by reaction with 1-methylimidazole and Schiff base formation with aromatic amines. The compounds were evaluated for antibacterial and antifungal activities. The ionic liquid tagged Schiff base 4a showed the inhibition of both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. It also showed broad spectrum antifungal activity against all four tested fungi; however, 4f showed highest antifungal activity against A. niger.     

Synthesis of β‐Arylacyl/β‐Heteroarylacyl‐β‐alkylidene Malonates and Their Application in Substituted Pyridone Synthesis

A novel approach has been developed for the synthesis of β‐arylacyl/β‐heteroarylacyl‐β‐alkylidine malonates in moderate to good yields by the reaction of Stork aryl and heteroaryl enamine with β‐chloroalkylidene malonates. The reaction involves conjugate (Michael) addition of Stork enamine on β‐chloroalkylidene malonates and elimination of chloride ion. These Michael adducts were utilized as intermediates for the synthesis of highly substituted 1,4‐dialkyl‐2‐oxo‐6‐aryl/hetreoaryl‐1,2‐dihydro‐pyridine‐3‐carboxylic acid ethyl esters via 5 + 1 ring annulation protocol.

Computational Closed-Loop Control of Fluid-structure Interaction (FSCI) for Lightweight Structures

This contribution gives a short introduction into the topic of fluid-structure-control interaction (FSCI). This is a multi-field problem, where three fields are coupled, namely a fluid-flow, structural dynamics and closed-loop control of structures. The interactions are identified as surface-coupling of fluid flow and structural dynamics as well as signal-coupling of structural dynamics and closed-loop control. At first a simple model problem is introduced, which allows an efficient investigation of the convergence behavior and stability of such kind of problem. In this context an iterative partitioned approach, using a serial Gauß-Seidel scheme, is presented. Finally, the insights gained by the model problem are used to set up a multi-dimensional numerical experiment. (© 2016 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)     

一种数字化混沌扩频序列发生器的设计

该文给出了一种基于FPGA芯片的数字化分段线性混沌映射系统的设计方法,该方法利用了m序列的扰动来克服有限精度下混沌序列的短周期行为;对用 VHDL实现的分段线性混沌序列发生器进行了门级仿真;将数字混沌序列的平衡性、相关性和线性复杂度等与实值混沌序列进行了比较,结论为:数字混沌序列的平衡性略比实值混沌序列差;自相关特性略好;N=63,255时,互相关特性略好,而N=31,127时互相关特性略差;二者的线性复杂度相当,为分段线性映射系统应用于扩频通信领域探索了一条途径。     

Polyaniline-poly(vinyl alcohol) IPN-composite prepared from potassium dichromate embedded PVA film: a material for humidity sensing application

Polyaniline-polyvinyl alcohol (PANI-PVA) interpenetrating network composite film is successfully prepared by in situ polymerization of aniline within PVA film embedded with different concentrations of potassium dichromate (K₂Cr₂O₇). The resulted composite is characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy, SEM and XRD, TGA techniques and confirmed the formation of interpenetrating network formation of PANI within PVA matrix. Electrical conductivity of the composite films increase from 10⁻⁶ to 10⁻² S/cm with the increase in the loading of dichromate from 10⁻⁴ to 10⁻² M. Further, exposing in humidity environment, the conductivity of the composite films increases from 14 to 100% with the increase in humidity conditions from 11.3 to 84.3%.     

Phytochemical Investigation of Bidens biternata (Lour.) Merr. and Sheriff.—A Nutrient-Rich Leafy Vegetable from Western Ghats of India

Bidens biternata, belonging to the family Asteraceae, is an erect annual herb, up to 1 cm in height, and a widespread weed of cultivated areas. This plant is common, particularly in the Western Ghats regions of Kerala state in India. It is used as a leafy vegetable by the Paniya and Kattunaayika tribes of Waynadu Districts in Kerala and also to cure hepatitis, cold, cough, dysentery, etc. The multiplication and utilization of this leafy vegetable will help to overcome the nutritional deficiency problem and also to maintain the biodiversity. For effective biochemical analysis, plant extract was taken using different solvents. Various phytochemicals like reducing sugar, glycosides, flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, steroids, terpenoids, coumarins, saponins, anthraquinones, phlobatannins and iridoids were estimated. Different nutritional factors like total carbohydrates, total proteins, total reducing sugar, different amino acids, free fatty acids, crude fibre, lipids, total moisture content, vitamins, etc. were tested by standard estimation methods. Anti-nutritional factors like phytic acid, total phenol, tannic acid, etc., were also estimated. Micronutrients and different pigments were quantified. The present studies revealed that this wild leafy plant has numerous nutritional factors with a low level of anti-nutritional factors. Therefore, this nutritive herb with diverse health-promoting compounds can be effectively utilized to overcome the nutritional deficiency problem around the globe.
