In this paper the simple and complete asymptotically analysis is given for a uniform polar quantizer with respect to mean-square error (MSE) i.e.granular distortion (Dg). We also give the conditions for optimality of the polar quantizer and all main equations for phase partitions and optimal number oflevels are presented. We derive the Dgopt in a closed form. The study of channel capacity evaluation in conjunction with maximal ratio diversity-combining (MRC) is presented in this paper. Analysis of the capacity in correlative Nakagami-m fading channels is observed. Using the proposed fading model, the power and rate adaptation, constant transmit power, channel inversion with fixed rate and truncated channel inversion adaptation policies are analyzed. Our results show that the power and rate adaptation policy, being only slightly higher than capacity of constant transmit power policy, provides the highest capacity over the other adaptation policies. The results also show that truncated channel inversion adaptation policy is better alternative compared to complete channel inversion policy for all values of fading severity, diversity order and correlation coefficient. 相似文献

An ad hoc network of small robots (sensor nodes) adjusting their positions to establish network connectivity would be able to provide a communication infrastructure in an urban battlefield environment. A sensor node would be capable of moving to a particular position to establish network connectivity, provided it knows its current position, positions of other sensor nodes and the radio propagation characteristics of the sensor area.In this paper, we present a pseudo formation control based trajectory algorithm to determine the optimal trajectory of a moving beacon used in localization of the sensor nodes in real-time. The trajectory and the frequency of transmission of the GPS based position information of the moving beacon influences the accuracy of localization and the power consumed by the beacon to localize. Localization accuracy and reduction in the number of position information messages can be achieved, in real-time, by determining the optimal position from where the beacon should transmit its next position information. This will decrease the time required to localize, and power consumed by the beacon in comparison to random or predetermined trajectories.We first show that optimal position determination is a pseudo formation control problem. Next, we show the pseudo formation control problem formulated as an unconstrained optimization problem under the free space propagation model. We further present the modeling of the beacon incorporating the trajectory algorithm based on the pseudo formation control in a discrete event simulator. Simulation results, comparing the performance of localization with pseudo formation control based trajectory against random waypoint and predetermined trajectories for the beacon are presented. The simulation results show that the localization accuracy is significantly improved along with reduction in the number of position information messages transmitted when the beacon traverses along the pseudo formation control based trajectory. 相似文献

We report on a novel extension of the recently introduced phase-field crystal (PFC) method [Elder, Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 245701 (2002)10.1103/PhysRevLett.88.245701], which incorporates elastic interactions as well as crystal plasticity and diffusive dynamics. In our model, elastic interactions are mediated through wave modes that propagate on time scales many orders of magnitude slower than atomic vibrations but still much faster than diffusive time scales. This allows us to preserve the quintessential advantage of the PFC model: the ability to simulate atomic-scale interactions and dynamics on time scales many orders of magnitude longer than characteristic vibrational time scales. We demonstrate the two different modes of propagation in our model and show that simulations of grain growth and elastoplastic deformation are consistent with the microstructural properties of nanocrystals. 相似文献

Why do we not experience a violation of macroscopic realism in everyday life. Normally, no violation can be seen either because of decoherence or the restriction of coarse-grained measurements, transforming the time evolution of any quantum state into a classical time evolution of a statistical mixture. We find the sufficient condition for these classical evolutions for spin systems under coarse-grained measurements. However, there exist "nonclassical" Hamiltonians whose time evolution cannot be understood classically, although at every instant of time the quantum state appears as a classical mixture. We suggest that such Hamiltonians are unlikely to be realized in nature because of their high computational complexity. 相似文献

We investigate multipartite entanglement in a noninteracting fermion gas, as a function of fermion separation, starting from the many particle fermion density matrix. We prove that all multiparticle entanglement can be built only out of two-fermion entanglement. Although from the Pauli exclusion principle we would always expect entanglement to decrease with fermion distance, we surprisingly find the opposite effect for certain fermion configurations. The von Neumann entropy is found to be proportional to the volume for a large number of particles even when they are arbitrarily close to each other. We will illustrate our results using different configurations of two, three, and four fermions at zero temperature although all our results can be applied to any temperature and any number of particles. 相似文献

We report a straightforward evolutionary procedure to build an optimal sensor array from a pool of DNA sequences oriented toward three-way junctions. The individual sensors were mined from this pool under separate selection pressures to interact with four steroids, while allowing cross-reactivity, in a manner designed to achieve perfect classification of individual steroids. The resulting sensor array had three sensors and displayed discriminatory capacity between steroid classes over full ranges of concentrations. We propose that similar protocols can be used whenever we have two or more classes of samples, with individual classes being defined through gross differences in ratios of dominant families of responsive components. 相似文献

All previous tests of local realism have studied correlations between single-particle measurements. In the present experiment, we have performed a Bell experiment on three particles in which one of the measurements corresponds to a projection onto a maximally entangled state. We show theoretically and experimentally that correlations between these entangled measurements and single-particle measurements are too strong for any local-realistic theory and are experimentally exploited to violate a Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt-Bell inequality by more than 5 standard deviations. We refer to this possibility as "entangled entanglement." 相似文献
