The renormalisation group approach is applied to the study of the short-time critical behaviour of the d-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau model with long-range interaction of the form in momentum space. Firstly the system is quenched from a high temperature to the critical temperature and then relaxes to equilibrium within the model A dynamics. Chip-multiprocessors (CMPs) have emerged as a popular means of exploiting growing transistor budgets. However, the same technology scaling that increases the number of transistors on a single die also creates greater variability in their key power- and performance-determining characteristics. As the number of cores and amount of memory per die increase, individual core and cache tiles will become small enough that traditional sources of intra-die power and performance variations will result in tile-to-tile (T2T) variations. We start from low-level models of the phenomena involved and create models for how systematic within-die process variations, random within-die process variations, and thermal variations manifest themselves as T2T variations. Current commercial CMP designs are partitioned into fine-grained frequency islands (FIs) to allow per-core control of clock frequencies. We use our models to evaluate leveraging this partitioning to address T2T variations. Exploiting the FI partitioning improves performance by an average of 8.4% relative to the fully-synchronous baseline when both process and thermal variability are addressed simultaneously, highlighting the importance of an integrated approach. The FI design can also achieve performance 7.1% higher than the baseline at fixed power or draw 24.2% less power at equal performance.  相似文献

The present study reports on methods of synthesis of self-assembling monodisperse colloidal particles, obtained for the system styrene (St)–hydroxypropyl methacrylate, through emulsion polymerization, using no surfactant. The syntheses performed have led to the conclusion that the emulsion copolymerization in the presence of fullerene is responsible both for a significant decrease of the particles size as well as for a dimensional monodispersity of the system; the latter has been achieved also through seeded polymerization. The morphology and the size distribution of particles have been explored using scanning electron microscope and dynamic light scattering.  相似文献

On-chip traffic modeling and synthesis for MPEG-2 video applications   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The objective of this paper is to introduce self-similarity as a fundamental property exhibited by the bursty traffic between on-chip modules in typical MPEG-2 video applications. Statistical tests performed on relevant traces extracted from common video clips establish unequivocally the existence of self-similarity in video traffic. Using a generic tile-based communication architecture, we discuss the implications of our findings on on-chip buffer space allocation and present quantitative evaluations for typical video streams. We also describe a technique for synthetically generating traces having statistical properties similar to those obtained from real video clips. Our proposed technique speeds up buffer simulations, allows media system designers to explore architectures rapidly and use large media data benchmarks more efficiently. We believe that our findings open new directions of research with deep implications on some fundamental issues in on-chip networks design for multimedia applications.  相似文献

PbS micro- and nanoparticles were synthesized by a simple precipitation reaction of lead nitrate with thioacetamide in hydrosoluble polymer water solutions. The effects of four water soluble polymers: polyacrylamide (PAM), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyethylene glycol (PEG) and poly-N-vinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) on the PbS crystallites morphology and structural properties were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). It was found that for the PbS particles obtained in the PVA, PEG and PVP, the (2 0 0) diffraction peak of the nanocrystals becomes dominant. The highest texture in the [2 0 0] direction was observed for the crystallites obtained in the presence of PVP. Polydisperse PbS particles with cubic morphology and size ranging from 100 nm to several microns are obtained in the case of PAM and PEG. Monodisperse cubic PbS crystallites with an average size of 200 nm are formed in the presence of PVA and PVP.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to provide lower and upper bounds for the switching activity on the state lines in finite state machines (FSMs). Using a Markov chain model for the behavior of the FSM states, we derive theoretical bounds for the average Hamming distance on the state lines which are valid irrespective of the state encoding used in the final implementation. Such lower and upper bounds, in addition to providing a target for any state assignment algorithm, can also be used as parameters in a high-level power model and thus provide an early indication about the performance limits of the target FSM  相似文献
