The study of superconductivity, dual superconductivity and color superconductivity has been undertaken through the breaking of super symmetric gauge theory in restricted chromo dynamics (RCD) which automatically incorporates the condensation of monopoles and dyons leading to confining and superconducting phases. Dyonic supermultiplets in N=1 super symmetry have been obtained quantum mechanically in RCD and it has been shown that dyon appears in RCD theory only through restricted part of the generalized potential and it is only this part of this potential which is responsible for quark confinement and the resulting superconductivity through the mechanism of dyonic condensation.  相似文献

Speech is usually produced in an upright sitting or standing posture. Measurements and judgments of speech may be made in conditions requiring a supine position, however. These conditions include MRI recordings, and oral procedures, such as, adjustments to dental appliances, medical and surgical procedures. It is of interest, therefore, to see whether gravity has strong or systematic effects on tongue behavior. In the present study, 13 subjects repeated several words, which contained extreme consonant and vowel tongue positions, during upright and supine condition. Ultrasound imaging provided midsagittal tongue contours, in each condition, for comparison. A neck brace was used to stabilize transducer placement and the palate was used as a physiological reference to register the data sets. Results showed a significant subject effect. In supine position the tongue was more posterior than upright for seven subjects, more anterior for two subjects and varied by phoneme for four subjects. However, there was no significant phoneme effect. The direction of change and the amount of change were not directly related. Most subjects had small upright-supine differences. The largest differences, less than 3 mm on average, were in the posterior tongue.  相似文献

The effect of tetravalent Ti+4 substitution in Mg0.95Mn0.05Fe2O4 on its magnetic and electrical properties has been studied using X-ray diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy, isothermal dc magnetization and dielectric measurements. X-ray diffraction studies have shown the structural transformation from cubic to tetragonal with the Ti+4 substitution. The Mössbauer spectra of Mg0.95Mn0.05Fe1.0Ti1.0O4 recorded in the temperature range 20-300 K shows the presence of the magnetic as well as quadrupole interactions. The isothermal hysteresis loop infers that the system exhibits a ferrimagnetic ordering at room temperature. The Zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) magnetization studies support ferrimagnetic ordering of Mg0.95Mn0.05Fe1.0Ti1.0O4 at room temperature. Signatures of ferroelectric transition have been observed in the temperature range 200-300 K from dielectric measurements. The observed magnetic and dielectric behaviour indicate that this material exhibits multiferroic behaviour.  相似文献

The muscle metabolism of at-rest patients with varying degrees of postpolio residual paralysis (PPRP) was studied and compared with that of controls using in vivo phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The phosphocreatine (PCr)/inorganic phosphate (Pi) and PCr/adenosine triphosphate ratios were lower in patients than in controls. Reduction in PCr/Pi suggests abnormalities in oxidative phosphorylation. A significant increase was observed in the phosphomonoester/PCr ratio in patients, indicating the accumulation of intermediary compounds of the glycolytic pathway. Furthermore, the phosphodiester/PCr ratio was also significantly increased in patients. In general, the observed changes in metabolite ratios were found to be related to the degree of residual paralysis, suggesting that metabolic changes are secondary to chronic neurogenic processes. These metabolic alterations appear to be the possible cause of energy deficit and underlying muscle fatigue in PPRP patients. The present results provide an insight into the metabolic impairment and degree of muscle damage in patients with PPRP.  相似文献

A metal-metal waveguide quantum cascade laser with an abutted silicon hyperhemispherical lens is demonstrated at ~4.1 THz. The device produced 145 mW of peak pulsed power at 5 K with a wall-plug power efficiency of 0.7%, lasing up to a maximum operating temperature of 160 K. The far-field beam pattern has a full width at half-maximum value of ~4.8 degrees in the H plane. The same device produced ~26 mW of peak power using a Winston cone instead of a lens, lasing up to 165 K. The large increase in output power is mainly attributed to an increase in collection efficiency.  相似文献

In this study, we investigate the expansion of the FRLW universe in the open, closed, and flat geometries. The universe is dominated by a scalar field (spatially homogeneous) as a source of dark energy. We consider the three different classes of scalar fields – quintessence, tachyonic, and phantom field – for our analysis. A mathematical analysis is carried out by considering these three scalar fields with exponential and power-law potentials. Both potentials give exponential expansion in the open, closed, and flat FRLW universes. It is found that quintessence, tachyonic, and phantom scalar fields are indistinguishable under the slow roll approximation.  相似文献

The stability of regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene 2,5-diyl) (P3HT) thin films sandwiched between indium tin oxide (ITO) and aluminium (Al) electrodes have been investigated under normal environmental conditions (25°C and RH∼45–50%). Electrical and optical properties of ITO/P3HT/Al devices have been studied over a period of 30 days. Mobility μ of the order of 10−4 cm2/V-s has been obtained from the V 2 law in the as-deposited P3HT films. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigations show blistering of Al contacts in devices with a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) interlayer on application of voltage whereas no blistering is seen in devices without PEDOT. The results have been explained in terms of trap generation and propagation and the moisture-absorbing nature of PEDOT.   相似文献

A new method is described to create secrete-codes in the security holograms for enhancing their anti-counterfeiting characteristics. To imitate these codes is difficult as pure phase objects having complex phase distribution function are used to modulate the object beam that is recorded in conjunction with an encoded interferometric reference beam derived from a key hologram. Lloyd’s folding mirror interferometer is used to convert phase variations of the reconstructed wave-front into an intensity pattern for hologram authenticity verification. Creating the secrete-codes through an interferometric reference beam from the key hologram facilitates a multi-stage authenticity verification as well as easy repositioning of the security hologram through a specific Moiré pattern generated during the verification process.   相似文献
