Test results are reported for a recently completed experimental research program on rocks subjected to triaxial compression. Sandstone, marble, granite and shale specimens were tested at confining pressures as high as 90,000 psi corresponding to mean stresses of up to 143,000 psi. Recognizing that the largest potential experimental error in such tests results from making strain and load measurements external to the vessel, special load and strain-measuring devices were designed and fabricated for use inside the pressure vessel. The specimens were carefully machined cylinders with length-to-diameter ratios of two and with diameters ranging from 4/16 in. to 1 in. The confining pressure was held constant during each run, but varied from 0 to 90,000 psi over the tests. Results are reported in the form of:
  1. Stress-strain curves for individual specimens
  2. Maximum shear stress at fracture vs. mean-stress curves for each rock type tested
  3. Tabulation of results for 59 specimens
A number of tests were run on granite specimens which had been previously fractured. Results from these tests showed good agreement with tests on intact granite, providing the confining pressure was above 30,000 psi.  相似文献

Let F be a non-Archimedean local field and D a central F-division algebra of dimension n2, n?1. We consider first the irreducible smooth representations of D× trivial on 1-units, and second the indecomposable, n-dimensional, semisimple, Weil-Deligne representations of F which are trivial on wild inertia. The sets of equivalence classes of these two sorts of representations are in canonical (functorial) bijection via the composition of the Jacquet-Langlands correspondence and the Langlands correspondence. They are also in canonical bijection via explicit parametrizations in terms of tame admissible pairs. This paper gives the relation between these two bijections. It is based on analysis of the discrete series of the general linear group GLn(F) in terms of a classification by extended simple types.  相似文献

Let F be a non-Archimedean local field of residual characteristic two and let d be an odd positive integer. Let D be a central F-division algebra of dimension d 2. Let π be one of: an irreducible smooth representation of D  × , an irreducible cuspidal representation of GL d (F), an irreducible smooth representation of the Weil group of F of dimension d. A summary is first presented of the conceptual difficulties and paradoxes surrounding plastic bifurcation buckling analysis. Briefly discussed are nonconservativeness, loading rate during buckling, and the discrepancy of buckling predictions with use of J2 flow theory vs J2 deformation theory. The axisymmetric prebuckling analysis, including large deflections, elastic-plastic material behavior and creep is summarized. Details are given on the analysis of nonsymmetric bifurcation from the deformed axisymmetric state. Both J2 flow theory and J2 deformation theory are described. The treatment, based on the finite-difference energy method, applies to layered segmented and branched shells of arbitrary meridional shape composed of a number of different elastic-plastic materials. Numerical results generated with a computer program based on the analysis are presented for an externally pressurized cylinder with conical heads.  相似文献

Background  

Human monocyte-derived DC (mDC) loaded with peptides, protein, tumor cell lysates, or tumor cell RNA, are being tested as vaccines against multiple human malignancies and viral infection with great promise. One of the factors that has limited more widespread use of these vaccines is the need to generate mDC in large scale. Current methods for the large-scale cultivation of mDC in static culture vessels are labor- and time- intensive, and also require many culture vessels. Here, we describe a new method for the large-scale generation of human mDC from human PBMC from leukopheresis or buffy coat products using roller bottles, never attempted before for mDC generation. We have tested this technology using 850 cm2 roller bottles compared to conventional T-175 flat-bottom static culture flasks.  相似文献

Fast atom bombardment, combined with high-energy collision-induced tandem mass spectrometry, has been used to investigate gas-phase metal-ion interactions with captopril, enalaprilat and lisinopril, all angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors.Suggestions for the location of metal-binding sites are presented. For captopril, metal binding occurs most likely at both the sulphur and the nitrogen atom. For enalaprilat and lisinopril, binding preferably occurs at the amine nitrogen. We analyze the causes of low path delay fault coverage in synchronous sequential circuits and propose a method to improve testability. The three main reasons for low path delay fault coverage are found to be: (A) combinationally false (nonactivatable) paths; (B) sequentially nonactivatable paths; and (C) unobservable fault effects. Accordingly, we classify undetected faults in Groups A, B, and C. Combinationally false paths ran be made testable by modifying the circuit or resynthesizing the combinational logic as discussed by other researchers. A majority of the untestable faults are, however found in Group B, where a signal transition cannot be functionally propagated through a combinational path. A test requires two successive states necessary to create a signal transition and propagate it through the target path embedded in the sequential circuit. We study a partial scan technique in which flip-flops are scanned to break cycles and shun that a substantial increase in the coverage of path delay faults is possible  相似文献

A differential algorithm for concurrent simulation of path delay faults in sequential circuits is presented. The simulator analyzes all three conditions, namely, initialization, signal transition propagation through the path, and fault effect observation at a primary output for vector pairs and considers the hazard states occurring between vectors. The main contribution is in methods of propagating signals between time frames. An optimistic method assumes that all nondestination flip-flops are not affected by delays. The pessimistic method converts all nondestination flip-flops with nonsteady values to the unknown state before these values are propagated beyond the time frame in which a path is activated. A 13-valued algebra is shown to improve the efficiency of fault simulation  相似文献
