A newly developed portable capillary liquid chromatograph was investigated for the separation of various pharmaceutical and illicit drug compounds. The system consists of two high‐pressure syringe pumps capable of delivering capillary‐scale flow rates at pressures up to 10 000 psi. Capillary liquid chromatography columns packed with sub‐2 μm particles are housed in cartridges that can be inserted into the system and easily connected through high‐pressure fluidic contact points by simply applying a specific, predetermined torque rather than using standard fittings and less precise sealing protocols. Several over‐the‐counter analgesic drug separations are demonstrated, along with a simple online measurement of tablet dissolution. Twenty illicit drug compounds were also separated across six targeted drug panels. The results described in this study demonstrate the capability of this compact liquid chromatography instrument to address several important drug‐related applications while simplifying system operation, and greatly reducing solvent usage and waste generation essential for onsite analysis.  相似文献

The classic and most widely used co-reactant electrochemiluminescence (ECL) reaction of tris(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(ii) ([Ru(bpy)3]2+) and tri-n-propylamine is enhanced by an order of magnitude by fac-[Ir(sppy)3]3− (where sppy = 5′-sulfo-2-phenylpyridinato-C2,N), through a novel ‘redox mediator’ pathway. Moreover, the concomitant green emission of [Ir(sppy)3]3−* enables internal standardisation of the co-reactant ECL of [Ru(bpy)3]2+. This can be applied using a digital camera as the photodetector by exploiting the ratio of R and B values of the RGB colour data, providing superior sensitivity and precision for the development of low-cost, portable ECL-based analytical devices.

A water-soluble Ir(iii) complex is shown to enhance the ‘remote’ mechanism of the most widely used co-reactant ECL reaction of tris(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(ii) with tripropylamine.  相似文献

It is demonstrated that laser desorption ion trap mass spectrometry (LD-ITMS) can be successfully applied to the chemical analysis of a monolayer of adsorbates on a solid surface. Negative ion spectra obtained from LD-ITMS of self-assembled monolayers adsorbed from solutions of alkanethiols (CH3(CH2)nSH with N = 5, 9, and 15) onto polycrystalline gold surfaces displayed clear ion peaks corresponding to the sulfonate adsorbate species. Sulfonate ions with the general formula CH3(CH2)nSO3 were detected at m/z 165, 221, and 305, respectively, and were derived from the partial oxidation of the corresponding alkanethiol self-assembled monolayers. Little fragmentation and no clustering was observed in these mass spectra. These results indicate that the sensitivity of LD-ITMS is sufficient to allow its application to a wide array of problems in surface science.  相似文献

Based on the thermo-electro-elastic coupling theory, the mathematical model for a surface heated piezoelectric semiconductor (PS) plate is developed in the time domain. Applying the direct and inverse Laplace transformations to the established model, the mechanical and electrical responses are investigated. The comparison between the analytical solution and the finite element method (FEM) is conducted, which illustrates the validity of the derivation. The calculated results show that the maximum values of the mechanical and electrical fields appear at the heating surface. Importantly, the perturbation carriers tend to concentrate in the zone near the heating surface under the given boundary conditions. It can also be observed that the heating induced elastic wave leads to jumps for the electric potential and perturbation carrier density at the wavefront. When the thermal relaxation time is introduced, all the field quantities become smaller because of the thermal lagging effect. Meanwhile, it can be found that the thermal relaxation time can describe the smooth variation at the jump position. Besides, for a plate with P-N junction, the effect of the interface position on the electrical response is studied. The effects of the initial carrier density on the electrical properties are discussed in detail. The conclusions in this article can be the guidance for the design of PS devices serving in thermal environment.  相似文献
