Single-mode and high-power operation at temperatures up to 120°C has been achieved in 1.3-μm strained MQW gain-coupled DFB lasers. A stable lasing wavelength is maintained due to a large modal facet loss difference of the two Bragg modes, which is provided by the gain-coupling effect. A very low temperature dependence of the threshold current has been obtained by detuning the lasing wavelength to the long wavelength side of the material gain peak at room temperature, which effectively compensates the waveguide loss at higher temperatures. Capturing high quality palmprint images in a very short time period is a fundamental step in palmprint research. While a palmprint scanner capable of this function is especially important for developing a real-time online palmprint identification system, limited research effort has been put into designing and implementing palmprint acquisition systems. A novel palmprint acquisition system is presented, which is designed for various civilian applications such as access control, ATM, etc. The novel contactless design on the user interface prevents the distortion of the palm skin introduced by the traditional glass plate of a palm scanner. The system is designed to have the best performance at reasonable price. It has a resolution of 150 dpi that is able to obtain palmprint features, including the principal lines, wrinkles and ridge texture. The proposed system provides an important step for implementing a personal identification system using palmprint. Over 9,400 palmprint images were collected by the proposed system. An online palmprint identification system was then developed based on the proposed acquisition system. 相似文献

This paper introduces a profile empirical likelihood and a profile conditionally empirical likelihood to estimate the parameter
of interest in the presence of nuisance parameters respectively for the parametric and semiparametric models. It is proven
that these methods propose some efficient estimators of parameters of interest in the sense of least-favorable efficiency.
Particularly, for the decomposable semiparametric models, an explicit representation for the estimator of parameter of interest
is derived from the proposed nonparametric method. These new estimations are different from and more efficient than the existing
estimations. Some examples and simulation studies are given to illustrate the theoretical results.

A dual-resonator monolithic crystal filter (MCF) is basically a narrowband bandpass filter. It is well known that a narrowband bandstop response can be obtained by connecting an inductor in parallel to an MCF element, however, it yields a lowpass response outside the stopband with a cutoff frequency about square root (2) times the stopband frequency. Ideally, outside the stopband, it should have an allpass characteristic. The author shows a simple method of designing a bandstop MCF filter having an allpass response outside the stopband by adding a series-connection inductor.
