Synthesis and herbicidal activities of methyl-1-(2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetoxy)alkylphosphonate monosalts

A series of 1-(2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetoxy)alkylphosphonic acid dimethyl esters 5 and its corresponding phosphonate monosalts 6 were synthesized as potential herbicide. The phosphonate monosalts can be prepared from 1-(2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetoxy)alkylphosphonic acid dimethyl esters 5, which were synthesized by the condensation of O,O-dimethyl-1-hydroxyalkylphosphonates with dichlorophenoxyacetic chloride. This method provides a simple and efficient procedure for the synthesis of phosphonate derivatives containing sensitive groups to acid, base or water such as carboxylate ester bond; and the herbicidal activity of title compounds was evaluated in a set of experiments in greenhouse. Most of the compounds exhibited notable herbicidal activity.     

One-step preparation of highly monodisperse micron-size particles in organic solvents

In this communication, we report the first simple and fast one-step method for synthesizing highly monodisperse micron-size PMMA particles in organic media through dispersion polymerization in the presence of PHSA (a polyhydroxyl-stearic-acid graft PMMA copolymer) as a stabilizer. There are two significant advantages of our method over earlier methods. First, by optimizing the composition of a solvent mixture of hexane and dodecane, we were able to increase the concentration of monomer up to 50-56% and obtain unusually large (up to 10 mum in diameter) PMMA particles. Second, by strictly controlling the nucleation time, we were able to make PMMA particles with a low polydispersity of around 1%, much lower than has ever before been achieved for such large particles. We also report an unusual apparent metastable state in the nucleation stage.     

Novel hydrogen-bonded three-dimensional network complexes containing cobalt-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid

The novel complex, Co(H₂O)₅[Co(2,6-pydc)₂] (1) has been prepared in aqueous solution and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analyses and i.r. spectra. X-ray structural analysis revealed that three novel compounds each possess both – stacking and hydrogen-bonding interaction three-dimensional (3-D) networks.     

Synthesis of New Chiral C2-Symmetrical Bis(oxazoline )Compounds

New chiral C2-symmetrical bis(oxazoline)compounds bearing one isobutyl-,secbutyl-benzyl- or isopropyl-substituent at the 4-position have been prepared and characterized.     

Nonalkaloid Constituents from Stemona japonica

Five new nonalkaloid constituents, a neolignan, japonin A ( 1 ), a macrocyclic lactone, japonin B ( 2 ), a (phenylethyl)benzoquinone, japonin C ( 3 ), a phenanthraquinone, japonin D ( 4 ), as well as a dihydrostilbene, stilbostemin M ( 5 ), were isolated from the roots of Stemona japonica, together with eight known compounds. Their structures were established by spectroscopic analyses.     

Bis[bis­(methoxy­carbimido)amine‐κ2N,N′]bis­(perchlorato‐κO)copper(II) bis­[bis­(methoxy­carbimido)amine‐κ2N,N′]bis­(methanol‐κO)copper(II) bis­(perchlorate) methanol disolvate

The title compound, [Cu(ClO₄)₂(C₄H₉N₃O₂)₂][Cu(C₄H₉N₃O₂)₂(CH₄O)₂](ClO₄)₂·2CH₃OH, comprises two independent Cu^II species lying on different inversion sites. In the Cu complexes, a distorted octa­hedral geometry arises (from basic square‐planar N₄ coordination) from the weak coordination of two perchlorate ions (as Cu—O) in one species and two methanol mol­ecules in the other (also as Cu—O). Inter­actions between the O atoms of the perchlorate anions or methanol groups and the imide or amine NH groups afford an extensive inter­molecular hydrogen‐bonding network.     

Two salts of 5‐sulfosalicylic acid and 3‐aminopyridine

5‐Sulfosalicylic acid (5‐SSA) and 3‐aminopyridine (3‐APy) crystallize in the same solvent system, resulting in two kinds of 1:1 proton‐transfer organic adduct, namely 3‐aminopyridinium 3‐carboxy‐4‐hydroxybenzenesulfonate monohydrate, C₅H₇N₂⁺·C₇H₅O₆S⁻·H₂O or 3‐APy·5‐SSA·H₂O, (I), and the anhydrous adduct, C₅H₇N₂⁺·C₇H₅O₆S⁻ or 3‐APy·5‐SSA, (II). Both compounds have extensively hydrogen‐bonded three‐dimensional layered polymer structures, with interlayer homo‐ and heterogeneous π–π interactions in (I) and (II), respectively.     

4—氟—3—羟基—1—取代苯基—6—哒嗪酮类结构及其反应的研究

氟代马来酐和苯肼缩合,反应先在乙醚后在25％盐酸中进行。4-氟-3-羟基-1-苯基-6-哒嗪酮(Ⅰ)的收率达54％,文献仅26％。Ⅰ和吗啡啉反应,得熔点为243～244℃的白色晶体。熔点及元素分析结果(表1)表明,产物为4-吗啡啉基-3-羟基-1-苯基-6-哒嗪酮(Ⅱ),据此作者认为氟原子位于第4位。     

The dynamics of reactions of O(3P) atoms with allene and methylacetylene

The reactions of O(³P) atoms with allene and methylacetylene: O+CH₂=C=CH₂

CO+C₂H₄,ΔH₂⁰ = ?117.8 kcal/mole were studied at 293 K with a CO laser resonant absorption and a discharge-flow GC-sampling method. The CO formed in reaction (1) was found to have a vibrational temperature of 5100 ± 100 K, compared with 2400 ± 200 K in (2). The good agreement between the observed CO vibrational distributions and those predicted by simple statistical models indicates that the reaction energies were completely randomized.The present results also showed unambiguously that CH₃CH, instead of C₂H₄, was produced initially in reaction (2).
