The telecommunication systems require introduction of high performance devices especially for microwave applications. The emergence of molecular beam epitaxy as a growth technique allows the fabrication of heterostructure-based performing devices. The present trend in the industry is towards the use of power transistors in the development of efficient Pulsewidth Modulated (PWM) inverters, because of their operation at high frequency, simplicity of turn-off, and low commutation losses compared to the technology using thyristors. But the protection of power transistors, minimization of switching power loss, and design of base drive circuit are very important for a reliable operation of the system. The requirements, analysis, and a simplified procedure for calculation of the switching-aid network components are presented. The transistor is protected against short circuit using a modified autoregulated and autoprotection drive circuit. The experimental results show that the switching power loss and voltage stress in the device can be reduced by suitable choice of the switching-aid network component values.  相似文献

The theory, design, and initial evaluation of an optkal sensor for the measurement of blood oxygen saturation (SO2) and hematocrit (Hct) are presented. A model based on the diffusion of light in an anisotropically scattering medium is developed and used to predict the effects of physiological parameters and the source/detector configuration on the diffuse reflectance of blood measured by the sensor. From model results, a ratiometric method is developed by which SO2 and Hct can be determined using a sensor comprised of three light sources and a detector. An implantable integrated circuit-based sensor was built to perform the blood reflectance measurements. The design of the monolithic signal processor is discussed, along with techniques for combining the chip with hybrid optoelectronics on the same glasscapped silicon substrate. Finally, preliminary results of an in vitro evaluation of prototype sensors are presented.  相似文献

The synthesis of 5,10-dideazaaminopterin by two independent routes is described. Condensation of the piperidine enamine of 4-p-carbomethoxyphenylbutyraldehyde ( 4 ) with ethoxymethylenemalononitrile followed by treatment of the resultant arylethylenaminomalononitrile ( 5 ) with methanolic ammonia produced 2-amino-3-cyano-5-p-carbomethoxyphenethylpyridine ( 6 ). Cyclization of the aminocyanopyridine with guanidine afforded 4-amino-4-deoxy-5,10-dideazapteroic acid ( 8 ). Coupling of the pteroate intermediate with glutamate yielded the target 5,10-dideazaaminopterin ( 10 ). Alternatively, reduction of 2,4-diamino-6-formyl-5-deazapteridine ( 11 ) with sodium borohydride gave the 6-hydroxymethyl compound 12 . Conversion to the bromide was followed by alkylation of dimethyl homoterephthalate to afford methyl 4-amino-4-deoxy-10-carbomethoxy-5,10-dideazapteroate ( 14 ). Decarboxylation with ester cleavage (sodium cyanide in dimethyl sulfoxide at 180°) also gave the diaminopteroic acid ( 8 ). 5,10-dideazaaminopterin ( 10 ) was an effective growth inhibitorof folate dependent bacteria, S. faecium and L. casei.  相似文献
