Operating Parameters Optimization of Buffer Gas in Optically Pumped Submillimeter Wave Laser

Based on the basic theory of molecular vibration relaxation and semi-classical density matrix theory, operating parameters optimization of buffer gas in the process of miniature pulsed optically pumped submillimeter wave laser was systemically studied and the theoretical calculated result was tested by experiments. The result would do favor to develop and study high-power and wide-range tunable miniature and high-efficient pulsed optically pumped submillimeter wave laser and also had some instruction to its application.     

陈化温度和Fe/Zr配比对SO42-/Fe2O3-ZrO2固体超强酸结构与性能的影响

用低温陈化法制备了SO42 -/Fe2 O3 ZrO2 (简称SFZ)固体超强酸催化剂 ,用红外光谱 (IR)和X光衍射(XRD)对其结构进行了表征 ,并考察了它对合成癸二酸二正丁酯的催化性能 .IR谱显示 ,低温陈化的SFZ样品在10 70cm-1处吸收峰远强于常温陈化样品 .XRD分析则显示 ,在焙烧温度为 6 5 0℃、Fe/Zr为 2∶1时 ,低温陈化的样品出现了亚稳态的ZrO2 四方晶相 .该样品在催化酯化反应中使产率达 90 %以上 ,高于常温陈化样品的 30 % .研究结果表明 :在其他条件不变时 ,低温陈化所出现的亚稳态的ZrO2 四方晶相是表面酸性和催化活性增加的微观原因     

Performance evaluation on a double‐layered satellite network

How to evaluate the performance of satellite networks is a prerequisite to the construction of satellite networks, and is also one of challenges in the researches on satellite networks. In this paper, generalized stochastic Petri net (GSPN) models are presented to carry out the performance analysis of a double‐layered satellite network. Firstly, the GSPN model of a double‐layered satellite network is simplified by proper analysis. Then, two sets of experiments are conducted to analyse the performance of the satellite networks, and show that the double‐layered satellite network outperforms single‐layered ones on the heavy traffic load. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified by simulation experiments. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

A new summation identity for the Srivastava-Singhal polynomials

In his recent investigations involving differential operators for some generalizations of the classical Laguerre polynomials, H. Bavinck [J. Phys. A Math. Gen. 29 (1996) L277-L279] encountered and proved a certain summation identity for the classical Laguerre polynomials. The main object of this sequel to Bavinck's work is to prove a generalization of this summation identity for the Srivastava-Singhal polynomials. The demonstration, which is presented here in the general case, differs markedly from the earlier proof given for the known special case. It is also indicated how the general summation identity can be applied to derive the corresponding result for one class of the Konhauser biorthogonal polynomials.     

Structural, magnetic properties and photoemission study of Ni-doped ZnO

Nickel-doped ZnO (Zn_1−xNi_xO) have been produced using rf magnetron sputtering. X-ray diffraction measurements revealed that nickel atoms were successfully incorporated into ZnO host matrix without forming any detectable secondary phase. Ni 2p core-level photoemission spectroscopy confirmed this result and suggested Ni has a chemical valence of 2+. According to the magnetization measurements, no ferromagnetic but paramagnetic behavior was found for Zn_0.86Ni_0.14O. We studied the electronic structure of Zn_0.86Ni_0.14O by valence-band photoemission spectroscopy. The spectra demonstrate a structure at ∼2 eV below the Fermi energy E_F, which is of Ni 3d origin. No emission was found at E_F, suggesting the insulating nature of the film.     

Chalcogenide Glasses Based on Germanium Disulfide for Second Harmonic Generation

High second‐order susceptibilities are created by thermal poling in bulk germanium disulfide based chalcogenide glasses. Experimental conditions of the poling treatment (temperature, voltage, time) were optimized for each glass composition. The second‐order nonlinear signals were recorded by using the Maker fringes experiment and a second‐order coefficient χ⁽²⁾ up to 8 pm V^–1 was measured in the Ge₂₅Sb₁₀S₆₅ glass. This value is obtained using a simulation based on accurate knowledge of the thickness of the nonlinear layer. Two mechanisms are proposed to explain the creation of a nonlinear layer under the anode: the formation and the migration of charged defects towards the anode may mainly occur in Ge₂₀Ga₅Sb₁₀S₆₅ and Ge₂₅Ga₅S₇₀ glasses, whereas the migration of Na⁺ ions towards the cathode may be responsible for the accumulation of negative charges under the anode in Ge₃₃S₆₇ and Ge₂₅Sb₁₀S₆₅ glasses. Different electronic conductivity behaviors seem to be at the origin of the phenomenon. In parallel, the potential effect of the poling treatment on the structural and electronic properties is studied using Raman spectroscopy and secondary ion mass spectroscopy measurements.     

Second-order duality for the variational problems

A dual problem associated with a class of variational problems is formulated that involves second derivatives of the functions. Under the invexity assumptions on the functions that compose the primal problems, second-order duality results (weak duality, strong duality and converse duality) are derived for this pair of problems.
