This paper presents a motion estimation and compensation large scale integration (LSI) for the MPEG2 standard. An embedded RISC processor and special hardware modules enable the LSI to achieve a sufficient ability to perform real-time operation and provide the availability to realize many kinds of block matching algorithms. Using a three-step hierarchical telescopic search algorithm, a single chip accomplishes real-time motion estimation with search ranges of ±32.5×±32.5 pixels for motion vectors. We have confirmed biexciton formation in an organic-inorganic hybrid quantum-well material (C4H9NH3)2PbBr4 by photoluminescence and two-photon absorption measurements. The biexciton has extremely large binding energy, 60 meV, which to our knowledge is the largest value ever reported for a semiconductor. By analyzing the spectrum of biexciton luminescence, the biexciton gas temperature was found to be much higher than the bath temperature due to a higher local temperature arising from the large biexciton binding energy.  相似文献

We demonstrate optical properties of one-dimensional photonic crystals (PC), which are fabricated using high-aspect-ratio etching on a V-grooved silicon wafer. The measured transmission spectrum has an obvious band gap; the suppression is over 30 dB. The quite small insertion loss of 1.9 dB is achieved by induced coupled plasma (ICP) cryogenic etching and direct coupling to the optical fiber aligned in the V-groove. We also successfully observed peaks originating from a localized cavity mode. Such a microcavity enables control of the light, which qualifies photonic crystal as a fundamental structure of optical functional devices. These results lead to achievement of integrated Si-based photonic circuits.  相似文献

We theoretically investigated a digitally tunable laser with a chirped ladder filter and a ring resonator to obtain a wide wavelength tuning range covering the whole C- or L- band. The clear relation between the tuning range and laser structure, especially the ladder filter, is described analytically. The introduction of a chirped structure into a ladder filter is effective in achieving both wide tunability and a stable lasing mode. A numerical simulation based on multimode rate equations shows that a tuning range of over 40 nm and a mode suppression ratio over 40 dB can be achieved by introducing a chirped ladder filter.  相似文献

Domain wall motion in Mn–Zn and Ni–Zn ferrites with applied magnetic fields is investigated by in situ observations with Lorentz microscopy and electron holography. It is found that both Mn–Zn and Ni–Zn ferrites have a mean grain size of approximately 10 μm and several pores with sizes ranging from 0.2 to 1.1 μm. In situ observations by Lorentz microscopy with an applied magnetic field reveals that in Mn–Zn ferrite, the domain walls move easily across the grain boundary, while in Ni–Zn ferrite, the domain walls move along the grain boundary but are pinned at the grain boundary and pores. From in situ observations of Ni–Zn ferrite by electron holography, it is clarified that domain wall pinning at the grain boundary retards a sensitive increase in magnetic flux parallel to the applied field direction, which is considered to result in high hysteresis loss.  相似文献

We report a measurement of the electroweak parameters sin2θ w and ? based on the ratios of neutral current to charged current events measured in the Fermilab narrow-band neutrino beam at energies of 30–240 GeV. The data are fully corrected for radiative effects, heavy-quark production, and other effects. The best value for sin2θ w obtained, sin2θ w =0.239±0.011, is consistent with the most recent values fromW andZ production, as well as from other neutrino experiments.  相似文献

Items are assumed to fail only by degradation. An appropriate stochastic model of such items is a cumulative process in which an item can fail only when the total amount of damage exceeds a prespecified failure level. This paper introduces a replacement policy in which an item is replaced at a certain level of damage before failure or at failure, whichever occurs first. The optimum replacement level of damage which will minimize the total expected cost per unit of time for an infinite time span is obtained. A numerical example is also presented.
