INVESTIGATION OF A QUASI-STEADY LIQUID CRYSTAL TECHNIQUE FOR FILM COOLING HEAT TRANSFER MEASUREMENTS
A quasi-steady technique to simultaneously measure the local heat transfer coefficient and cooling effectiveness on surfaces involving film cooling situations is investigated. The method employs a composite slab consisting of a very thin laminate layer of low-thermal-conductivity material superposed upon a highly conductive metal substrate. The resulting heat transfer in the thin laminate is described by one-dimensional conduction. A very thin coating of thermochromic liquid crystals sprayed onto the surface of the laminate is used in conjunction with a computer image processing procedure to provide local surface temperature data. This information, combined with the substrate and mainstream gas temperatures, provides highly detailed (90 video pixels/cm2) local convection heat transfer distributions. The method is used to conduct flat-plate film cooling experiments consisting of a single row of discrete holes inclined at 35 to the mainstream flow. The local surface temperature is influenced by the combination of two interacting fluid streams at different temperatures. A numerical analysis was performed to assess the assumptions underlying the data reduction procedure. The experimental uncertainty of 7% in the heat transfer coefficient is comparable to prior studies. Furthermore, the uncertainty of 5% in the film cooling effectiveness, coupled with the negligible lateral conduction errors, indicates the present technique offers a unique capability for accurate measurement of the local film cooling effectiveness. 相似文献

The properties of solid surface on oil-wax gel are one of the most important factors which decide the quality of products such as cosmetics. The thixotropic property of solid surface depends on the velocity gradient and it is increased with higher velocity gradient as controlling the morphology on solid surface of oil-wax gel. The morphological change of oil-wax gel in compliance with surface properties of wax matrix can cause different rheological behaviors. Rheological behavior of oil-wax gel regarding the surface transition range in accordance with shear strain was observed to characterize surface properties. In an earlier article, the morphological mechanism of causing surface transition range and the factors of influencing surface transition range were examined by studying the rheological behaviors of a solid-state emulsion. Here, we investigated, in the lattice structure terms, the morphological change of oil-wax gel by measuring surface transition range depending on velocity gradient, which could influence the hardness and sweating phenomenon. We confirmed that the morphological change of oil-wax gel was accompanied by crystal size, crystal conformation, the degree of crystallinity. Temperature-sensitive hybrid films were synthesized with a concentration gradient by casting and UV curing of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) monomers (0%–70%) on the free surface of waterborne polyurethane (WPU) films on a Teflon substrate. The surface hardness and contact angle of the free surface with a water drop increased asymptotically with the addition of NIPAAm, whereas those on the substrate side were virtually unchanged. The diffusion coefficient (D), rates of swelling at 20°C (below the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM)) and deswelling at 50°C (above the LCST) increased with increasing NIPAM content, showing favorable thermosensitivity. In addition, the glassy state modulus and glass transition temperature (Tg) of the film increased with increasing NIPAM content, whereas the rubbery modulus decreased due to the increased molecular weight between the crosslinks. In addition, as the NIPAM content increased, the film showed a positive yield with an increased yield and fracture stress and decreased ductility. For the purpose, we introduced new concepts of pattern design most appropriate design for single light source, density adjustment design and radius adjustment design. And than compared the LGP output intensity distribution of the two cases with that of the uniform density pattern. As the result, above two types pattern design given a good result. Polyoxometalates (POMs), as inorganic ligands, can endow metal nanocrystals (NCs) with unique reactivities on account of their characteristic redox properties. In the present work, we present a facile POM‐mediated one‐pot aqueous synthesis method for the production of single‐crystalline Pd NCs with controlled shapes and sizes. The POMs could function as both reducing and stabilizing agents in the formation of NCs, and thus gave a fine control over the nucleation and growth kinetics of NCs. The prepared POM‐stabilized Pd NCs exhibited excellent catalytic activity and stability for electrocatalytic (formic acid oxidation) and catalytic (Suzuki coupling) reactions compared to Pd NCs prepared without the POMs. This shows that the POMs play a pivotal role in determining the catalytic performance, as well as the growth, of NCs. Cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) is known to bind strongly to hydrophilic amino saccharide guests with exceptional α‐anomer selectivities under aqueous conditions. Single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography and computational methods were used to elucidate the reason behind this interesting phenomenon. The crystal structures of protonated galactosamine (GalN) and glucosamine (GluN) complexes confirm the inclusion of α anomers inside CB[7] and disclose the details of the host–guest binding. Whereas computed gas‐phase structures agree with these crystal structures, gas‐phase binding free energies show preferences for the β‐anomer complexes over their α counterparts, in striking contrast to the experimental results under aqueous conditions. However, when the solvation effect is considered, the binding structures drastically change and the preference for the α anomers is recovered. The α anomers also tend to bind more tightly and leave less space in the CB[7] cavity toward inclusion of only one water molecule, whereas loosely bound β anomers leave more space toward accommodating two water molecules, with markedly different hydrogen‐bonding natures. Surprisingly, entropy seems to contribute significantly to both anomeric discrimination and binding. This suggests that of all the driving factors for the strong complexation of the hydrophilic amino saccharide guests, water mediation plays a crucial role in the anomer discrimination. 相似文献
