The high-sensitivity determination of protein concentrations by the enhancement of Rayleigh light scattering of Arsenazo-DBN

A new Rayleigh light scattering (RLS) assay of protein is presented in this paper. At the optimum pH 4.10, the weak RLS of Arsenazo-DBN can be greatly enhanced by the addition of proteins due to the interaction between protein and Arsenazo-DBN. Based on this, the reactions of Arsenazo-DBN and proteins, including bovine serum albumin, human serum album, gamma-globulin, egg albumin, lysozyme and trypsin, were studied. A new quantitative determination method for proteins has been developed. The linear range for human serum albumin, for example, is 0.085-34.62 micrograms mL-1 with a detection limit of 44.8 ng mL-1. Besides high sensitivity, the method is characterized by good reproducibility, rapidity of reaction, good stability, and few interfering substances. The determination of the proteins in human serum and urine samples by this method give results very close to those obtained using Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 colorimetry, with relative standard deviations of 0.7-2.5%.     

富勒烯化聚环氧丙基咔唑的合成与表征

通过Ｆｒｉｅｄｅｌ－Ｃｒｒａｆｔｓ反应制备了富勒烯化的聚环氧丙基咔唑，聚合物中Ｃ６０的含量最高可达７．６ｗｔ％。通过凝胶渗透色谱法测定了聚合物分子量，并采用＾上Ｈ和＾１３Ｃ－ＮＭＲ，ＩＲ，热分析及光谱等手段对其结构进行了分析与表征。     

Parallel solution combustion synthesis for combinatorial materials studies

A parallel solution combustion synthesis technique was developed for combinatorial materials studies. The vigorous combustion reactions were successfully limited in the microreactors by using a substrate-net-mask microreactor system and the lowest adoptable furnace temperature. Using this technique, a luminescent materials library of Y3Al5O12/Tb(chi) was synthesized with the aid of an ink-jet delivery system. Structure and luminescence characterizations were implemented using X-ray diffraction and UV/X-ray spectroscopies, respectively. The results show that this technique is reliable and applicable to combinatorial study of powder materials with high synthesis temperature.     

Dimeric iron n-confused porphyrin complexes

A dimeric iron N-confused porphyrin, [Fe(NCTPP)]2 was obtained from the anaerobic reaction of Fe(NCTPP)Br with NaSePh while under aerobic conditions a hydroxo bridged iron dimer with Na bridging the outer-N atoms was obtained and oxygenation occurred on the inner core pyrrolic carbon to form a novel ONCTPP porphyrinic ring.     

Voltammetric studies of the effect of Cisplatin-liposome on Hela cells

In this paper, the voltammetric method was used for the first time to study the effect of Cisplatin-liposome on Hela cells. The results showed the voltammetric behavior of Hela cells was irreversible and the peak current had linear relationship with the cell number. With both Cisplatin-liposome concentration and treating time increasing, the peak current decreased. The peak current decreasing was in accordance with the nuclear damage and loss of mitochondrial membrane potential revealed by two-photon laser scanning microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy. This voltammetric method may provide a simple way to study the electron-transfer mechanism in drug-treating cells.     

Diterpene derivative and chromone from Hypericum perforatum

A novel diterpene derivative, 5-methyl-5-(4,8,12-trimethyl-tridecyl)-dihydro-furan-2-one (1) and a new chromone, 5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-3-methyl-chromen-4-one (2), along with a known compound, phytol (3) have been isolated from the aerial parts of Hypericum perforatum. Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and by comparison with published values.     

两性离子流动相测定杂多酸中的磷酸根、氯离子和硫酸根

采用离子色谱法测定杂多酸中痕量阴离子。由于常规的淋洗液(如Na2CO3,NaOH)呈碱性,使杂多酸迅速分解生成磷酸根,致使测定结果偏高。实验通过在常规淋洗液中加入适量两性离子后,调节淋洗液的pH为中性,从而能准确测定杂多酸中磷酸根氯离子和硫酸根的含量值。经过比较分别用去离子水和流动相稀释的样品中磷酸根的测定结果,确定淋洗液的最佳条件为2.5mmol/LNa2CO3-9.0mmol/LCHES,在该条件下测定,快速、准确、灵敏,且有较好的灵敏度和重现性。     

Synthesis and Properties of Bis(2,5-dimethylpyrrolo[3,4-d])tetrathiafulvalenes, a Class of Annelated Tetrathiafulvalene Derivatives with Excellent Electron Donor Properties

The synthesis of the first derivatives of bis(pyrrolo[3,4-d])tetrathiafulvalene has been studied in detail. Starting from the readily available 2,5-dimethylpyrrole (11) and N-phenyl-2,5-dimethylpyrrole, bis(2,5-dimethylpyrrolo[3,4-d])tetrathiafulvalene (8) and the N,N'-disubstituted derivatives 6, 7, 9, and 10 were prepared in good yields by practical procedures. In contrast to the other types of aromatic annelated tetrathiafulvalenes (TTFs), which have appreciably higher oxidation potentials than TTF, the redox behavior of the pyrrolo tetrathiafulvalenes (TTFs) is very close to that of TTF itself. The potential of pyrrolotetrathiafulvalenes as a new series of organic metal building blocks is shown by the two-probe conductivities of the tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) complexes of the N-phenyl compound 7 and the N-methyl compound 9, which give higher values than TTF-TCNQ under similar conditions.     

Effects of Lead on Temporal Response Properties of Retinal Ganglion Cells in Developing Rats

Neonatal rats have taken in lead, during the period from their parturition to their weaning, from the milk of dams fed with water containing 0.2% lead acetate solutions. The alterations in the temporal response properties of retinal ganglion cells in adult rats (90 days) following the lead exposure at their developing stage have been studied. The results of this investigation demonstrate that the lead exposure in neonatal rats causes decreases in the optimal temporal frequency, bandwidth at half amplitude, temporal resolution and response phase of the retinal ganglion cells in adult rats. Compared with the sustained cells, the transient cells have a much greater alteration in temporal response properties.     

Syntheses,structures and electrochemical properties of ruthenium(II/III) complexes with tetradentate Schiff base ligands

Three unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff base ligands, H₂salipn, H₂salipn-Br₄ and H₂salipn-Cl₂, have been synthesized from the typical condensation reactions of treating 1,2-diaminopropane with salicylaldehyde, 3,5-dibromosalicylaldehyde and 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde, respectively. Treatment of [RuCl₂(PPh₃)₃] with one equivalent of H₂salipn or H₂salipn-Br₄ in the presence of triethylamine in tetrahydrofuran (THF) afforded the corresponding ruthenium(III) complexes [Ru^IIICl(PPh₃)(salipn)] (1) and [Ru^IIICl(PPh₃)(salipn-Br₄)] (2). Interaction of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh₃)₃] with one equivalent of H₂salipn-Cl₂ or H₂salipn-Br₄ under the same conditions led to isolation of ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru^II(CO)(PPh₃)(salalipn-Cl₂)] (3) and [Ru^II(CO)(PPh₃)(salalipn-Br₄)] (4), respectively, in which one of the imine bonds was nucleophilically attacked by hydride to result in the formation of a mixed imine-amine ligand. The molecular structures of 1?1.5CH₂Cl₂, 2, 3?0.5CH₂Cl₂ and 4 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The electrochemical properties of 1–4 were also investigated. Their cyclic voltammograms displayed quasi-reversible Ru(IV)/Ru(III) and Ru(III)/Ru(II) couples with E^o ranging from 0.67 to 1.05 V and 0.74 to 0.80 V vs. Ag/AgCl (0.1 M), respectively.
