Developing a hybrid emulsion polymerization system to synthesize Fe3O4/polystyrene latexes with narrow size distribution and high magnetite content

A hybrid emulsion polymerization was formulated for synthesizing Fe₃O₄/polystyrene composite latex. This system, containing binary droplets that are magnetic (Mag)‐droplets with a diameter of 100–200 nm and styrene (St)‐droplets with a diameter of 3–4 μm, was obtained by mixing Mag‐miniemulsion and St‐macroemulsion. With extremely low surfactants concentration (?critical micelle concentration, CMC), the nucleated loci are selectively controlled in the Mag‐droplets, as the result of smaller droplet size and larger surface ratio. Both water‐soluble potassium persulfate (KPS) and oil‐soluble 2,2′‐azobis(2‐isobutyronitrile) was adopted to initiate the polymerization. In the presence of KPS, magnetic polystyrene latices with particles size of 60–200 nm, narrow size distribution, and high magnetite content (86 wt % measured by TGA) were attained successfully. The synthesized magnetic Fe₃O_4/polystyrene latices assembled into well‐ordered hexagonal structure in the surface of a carbon supported copper grid. The influence of various parameters on various aspects of the as‐synthesized Fe₃O₄/polystyrene was investigated in detail: type of initiator on composite morphology, feed ratio of Mag‐miniemulsion and St‐macroemulsion on magnetite content, and hydrophobic agent or amount of surfactant on size and size distribution. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Characterization of ultrashort optical pulses with third-harmonic-generation based triple autocorrelation

We present a method to obtain complete information of femtosecond pulses. By measuring triple-optical autocorrelation directly with third-harmonic generation, without spectral information, a temporal pulse shape can be obtained by analytical calculation without direction-of-time ambiguity. Combining the resulting optical pulse shape with its corresponding optical spectrum, the exact phase and color variations in time can all be recovered with a Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm through an iterative calculation with an O(n) complexity.     

激光结晶a-Si:H SOI离子注入和快速退火

本文对激光结晶a-Si∶H SOI结构砷注入和快速退火行为作了研究.a-Si∶H激光结晶有Lp-LCR,OD,FCR-2,FCR-1四个结晶区.用剖面电镜观察了结晶区的结构.扩展电阻测量表明Lp-LCR区中有两种扩散机制,即杂质在晶粒体内扩散和沿缺陷扩散.OD区中有三种扩散形式,除有上述两种以外,还有沿缺陷的扩散.首次比较了沿晶界和缺陷的扩散速度.     

Scattering from bandlimited fractal fibers

The scattering of electromagnetic or optical waves from tenuous dielectric fibers characterized by bandlimited fractal surfaces is considered. The role of several fractal dimensions is noted, and one suitable for this problem is identified. It is found that in the fractal regime, the Rayleigh-Gans differential scattering cross section as a function of the normalized size parameter exhibits a power-law relation reminiscent of that associated with light scattering from fractal clusters and small-angle X-ray and neutron scattering by porous material. This power-law relation is monotonically related to an appropriate fractal dimension and variance of the fiber surface     

Nonlinear transforms of ECG signals for digital QRS detection: aquantitative analysis

A class of algorithms has been developed which detects QRS complexes in the electrocardiogram (ECG). The algorithms employ nonlinear transforms derived from multiplication of backward differences (MOBD). The algorithms are evaluated with the American Heart Association ECG database, and comparisons are made with the algorithms reported by Okada (1979) and by Hamilton and Tompkins (1986). The MOBD algorithms provide a good performance tradeoff between accuracy and response time, making this type of algorithm desirable for real-time microprocessor-based implementation     

Si/SiGe epitaxial-base transistors. I. Materials, physics, andcircuits

A detailed review of SiGe epitaxial base technology is presented, which chronicles the progression of research from materials deposition through device and integration demonstrations, culminating in the first SiGe integrated circuit application. In part I of this paper, the requirements and processes for high-quality SiGe film preparation are discussed, with emphasis on fundamental principles. A detailed overview of SiGe HBT device design and implications for circuit applications is then presented     

Highly compact AC-AC converter achieving a high voltage transferratio

This paper reports a new, highly integrated modular design approach for pulsewidth-modulation AC-AC converters based on a modular phase-bank structure. Novel high-power 3-in-1 integrated bi-directional power modules (IBPM) rated at 1200-V AC and 150 A and the 3-to-1 phase bank circuits have been successfully developed, fabricated and tested. This enables the modularity design of the multiphase converter systems and reduces the critical parasitic inductance. A theoretical analysis of the IBPM's silicon utilization for this new breed of direct power converters has been outlined. A lab prototype at medium power level has been successfully designed, implemented, and tested with good results. A nearly 460-VRMS out voltage at a 1:0.955 voltage transfer ratio, which, perhaps, is the highest performance reported so far in the literature, has been achieved by the novel two-side modulation control system. The converter-fed AC motor system is able to operate over the 0-240 Hz range with inherent regenerative capability and four-quadrant operation. Potential industrial applications are also briefly highlighted in this paper

GaAs亚微米自对准工艺技术研究

总结了在５０ｍｍＧａＡｓ圆片上实现自对准介质膜隔离等平面工艺技术的研究，着重描述了离子注入、自对准亚微米难熔栅制备、钝化介质膜生长、干法刻蚀、电阻和电容制备等关键工艺的研究结果。这套工艺的均匀性、重复性好，在５０ｍｍＧａＡｓ圆片上获得了满意的成品率。采用这套工艺已成功地研制出多种性能良好的ＧａＡｓＩＣ和ＧａＡｓ功率ＭＥＳＦＥＴ，证明国家自然科学基金委员会这一重大课题的选择对发展我国ＧａＡｓＩＣ确实具有重大意义。
