In this paper, a new numerical method is proposed to solve one-dimensional Burgers’ equation using multiquadric (MQ) radial basis function (RBF) for spatial approximation and a second-order compact finite difference scheme for temporal approximation. The numerical results obtained by this way for different Reynolds number have been compared with the existing numerical schemes to show the accuracy and efficiency of the approach. To show the superiority of this meshless method, numerical experiments with non-uniform MQ interpolation node distribution are also performed.  相似文献

Cooperative advertising in a distribution channel with fairness concerns   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Cooperative (co-op) advertising has been widely used in practice and employed as a strategy to improve the performance of a distribution channel. It is known from the existing models that co-op advertising could not achieve the channel coordination (i.e., maximize the total channel profit). In this paper, we consider a distribution channel consisting of a single manufacturer and a single retailer, and investigate the effect of the retailer’s fairness concerns. Applying the equilibrium analysis, we obtain the following results: (1) Channel coordination can be achieved if the retailer has fairness concerns and model parameters satisfy certain conditions. (2) Although both channel members become better off with co-op advertising if neither channel member has fairness concerns, we find situations where co-op advertising brings detrimental effects to the retailer if the retailer has fairness concerns. (3) The retailer’s fairness concerns may increase or decrease the equilibrium participation rate, the equilibrium advertising effort, and the equilibrium profit of the manufacturer and the whole channel. (4) We identify the conditions under which the effectiveness of co-op advertising can be improved or reduced by the retailer’s fairness concerns. As long as co-op advertising can bring extra profit to the manufacturer, the retailer’s fairness concerns could improve the effectiveness of the co-op advertising. (5) There exists a Pareto improvement for the profits of both the manufacturer and the retailer when a retailer without fairness concerns becomes fair-minded.  相似文献

The controversy surrounding the correctness of Marotto’s theorem continues over the last two decades, with many researchers claiming to have found an error in the proof. In this paper, we show that Marotto’s theorem is indeed correct for analyzing the existence of chaos in the sense of Li-Yorke even after relaxing certain assumptions in the proof. In addition, we extend the theory to derive the conditions for the existence of chaos in the sense of Devaney. We show that these results can be applied to study the chaotification of linear switching systems.  相似文献

The generation of novel chaotic funnel-shaped attractors is introduced and the analysis of related critical values is given with a proposed switching method in this paper. The underlying mechanism involves a simple three-dimensional switched system and a hysteretically switching signal. Moreover, theoretic analysis is carried out to study the attractor generation and the corresponding critical values by fully utilizing the specific structure of the non-smooth system. Based on carefully derivation, the critical values and related stability regions of the created attractors are estimated explicitly, which is usually impossible for general non-smooth dynamics. In addition, it is demonstrated by simulation that various attractor patterns are generated conveniently by adjusting suitable system parameters.  相似文献

The class KKM(X,Y) (resp., s-KKM(X,Y,Z)) of set-valued mappings with KKM (resp., s-KKM) property is introduced in FC-spaces without any convexity structure. Some generalized KKM (resp., s-KKM) type theorems are proved in FC-spaces under much weak assumptions. As applications, some new section theorems and coincidence theorems are established in FC-spaces. These theorems generalize many known results in literature.
