Three diastereomers of burkholdac B were prepared by total synthesis, enabling the full stereochemical assignment of the natural product. It is proposed that burkholdac B is identical to thailandepsin A independently isolated by Cheng from the same strain of Burkholderia thailandensis . Polycrystalline thin films of silver antimony selenide have been deposited using a reactive evaporation technique onto an ultrasonically cleaned glass substrate at a vacuum of 10-5 torr. The preparative parameters, like substrate temperature and incident fluxes, have been properly controlled in order to get stoichiometric, good quality and reproducible thin film samples. The samples are characterized by XRD, SEM, AFM and a UV-vis-NIR spectrophotometer. The prepared sample is found to be polycrystalline in nature. From the XRD pattern, the average particle size and lattice constant are calculated. The dislocation density, strain and number of crystallites per unit area are evaluated using the average particle size. The dependence of the electrical conductivity on the temperature has also been studied and the prepared AgSbSe2 samples are semiconducting in nature. The AgSbSe2 thin films exhibited an indirect allowed optical transition with a band gap of 0.64 eV. The compound exhibits promising thermoelectric properties, a large Seebeck coefficient of 30 mV/K at 48 K due to strong phonon electron interaction. It shows a strong temperature dependence on thermoelectric properties, including the inversion of a dominant carrier type from p to n over a low temperature range 9-300 K, which is explained on the basis of a phonon drag effect. 相似文献

Single crystals of the organic nonlinear optical material γ-glycine have been grown in the presence of Zinc sulphate by slow evaporation technique at ambient temperature for the first time. Bulk growth of γ-glycine single crystals was grown by Top-seeded solution growth method. The γ-phase of glycine was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction and the FTIR analysis. Elemental analysis CHN was performed to confirm the non-inclusion of zinc sulphate species into the solution. Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry study (ICP-OES) was employed to quantify the concentration of Zinc element in the grown γ-glycine single crystals. The optical transmission was ascertained from UV–Vis–NIR spectrum. The optical band gap was estimated for γ-glycine single crystal using UV–Vis–NIR study. Differential scanning calorimetry analysis was employed to explore information about thermal stability, phase transition and melting point of the grown crystal. Y2O3 nanoparticles and nanorods have been firstly synthesized in bulk Ti-Y films prepared by magnetron sputtering on Si (100) substrates at different temperatures. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) are used to characterize the structure, morphology, and composition of the as-synthesized nanoparticles and nanorods. The mechanical properties of the sputtered films are investigated using nanoindentation techniques. The results indicate that both the nanoparticles and nanorods have a pure cubic Y2O3 structure resulting from the reaction of Y atoms with the residual O2 in the vacuum chamber, and are free from defects and dislocations with uniform diameters of about 30 nm. The Y2O3 nanoparticles mainly distribute at the grain boundaries of the Ti matrix and the nanorods have lengths ranging from 250 nm to more than 1 μm with the growth direction parallel to the (002) plane. As the growth temperature elevates, the nanoparticles turn to be coarsening while more and longer nanorods are inclined to form. Compared with the Ti film, the TiY films have a remarkable increase in hardness, but do not exhibit expected increase in elastic modulus. Finally, the growth mechanism is also briefly discussed. 相似文献

Finite difference solution of the transient free-convection flow of an incompressible viscous fluid past an impulsively started
semi-infinite vertical plate with heat and mass transfer is presented here. The steady state velocity, temperature and concentration
profiles are shown graphically. Velocity profiles are compared with exact solution. It has been observed that there is a rise
in the velocity due to the presence of a mass diffusion. An increase in Schmidt number, leads to a fall in the velocity. Stability
and the convergence of the finite difference scheme are established.
