Novel Hydrogen‐bond Three Dimensional Networks Generated from the Reaction of Metal Nitrate Hydrate (M = Co,Ni) with Ammonium Thiocynate and Bidentate Ligand Piperazine

The reaction of Co(NO₃)₂·6H₂O with two equivalents of PPz (PPz = piperazine hexahydrate) and two equivalents of NH₄SCN in CH₃OH afforded the complex [Co(NCS)₂(PPz)₂(CH₃OH)₂]. The reaction of Ni(NO₃)₂·6H₂O with two equivalents of PPz and four equivalents of NH₄SCN in CH₃OH afforded the complex [Ni(NCS)₄(PPz)₂]. Their IR spectra have been recorded and the structures have been determined. Crystal data for 1 : space group P&1bar;, a = 6.7208(6) Å, b = 8.4310(8) Å, c = 8.5923(8) Å, a = 77.881(2)°, β = 76.342(2)°, γ = 83.936(2)°, V = 461.75(1) ų, Z = 1 with final residuals R1 = 0.0650 and wR2 = 0.1725. Crystal data for 2 : space group P2(1)/n, a = 7.4209(6) Å, b = 11.0231(9) Å, c = 12.317(1) Å, β = 96.642(9)°, V = 1000.9(2) ų, Z = 2 with final residuals R1 = 0.0378 and wR2 = 0.0809. Important NCS—H‐N and O‐H—N(PPz) hydrogen‐bonding interactions in compound 1 and NCS···H‐N hydrogen‐bonding interactions and NCS—SCN interactions in compound 2 play a significant role in aligning the polymer strands in crystalline solids.     

Self－assembly of Novel Hetero[3]rotaxane, [2]Rotaxanes and [2]Catenane

One linear template 13 and one cyclophane template 15, both incorporating two electron rich 1,4‐dialkoxybenzene units and one diamide unit, have been synthesized. By utilizing donor‐acceptor interaction and/or intermolecular hydrogen bonding assembling principles, one novel hetero[3]rotazane 22·4Cl, possessing one neutral and one tetracationic ring components, has been synthesized from 13, through neutral [2]rotaxane 21 as intermediate. With 15 as template, tetracationic [2]catenane 23·4PF₆ was assembled by using donor‐acceptor interaction, but no neutral [2]rotaxane could be obtained under the typical conditions of hydrogen bonding assembling principle. The interlocked supramolecular compounds have been characterized and their spectral properties are investigated.     

Cleavage of the Fe—Fe Bond of （Me2SiSiMe2） [η^5－C5H4Fe（CO）2]2 with Na／Hg and Molecular Structure of the Ring－Opened Complex

The reaction of the rifle cyclic complex (1) with sodium amalgam in THF resulted in the expected cleavage of the Fe-Fe bond to afford his-sodium salt ( Me2SiSiMe2 ) [η^5-C5H4Fe(CO)2]2 (4). The latter was not isolated and was used directly to react with MeI, PhCH2Cl, CH3C(O)Cl, PhC(O)Cl,Cy3SnCl (Cy= cyclohexyl) or Ph3SnCl to afford corresponding ring-opened derivatives (Me2SiSiMe2) [η^5-C5H4Fe(CO)2]2 [5, R=Me; 6, R=PhCH2; 7, R=CH3C(O); 8, R=PhC(O); 9, R = Cy3Sn or 10, R = Ph3Sn ]. The crystal and molecular structures of 10 were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The molecule took the desired ant/ conformation around the Si-Si bond. The length of the Si--Si bond is 0.2343(3)nm, which is essentially identical to that in the cyclic structure of 1[0.2346(4) tun]. This result unambiguously demonstrates that the Si--Si bond in the cyclic structure of 1 is not subject to obvious strain.     

The Chemistry of Tetrafluoroallene： One－pot Synthesis of Trifluoromethylindolizines from 1,3－Diiodo－1,1,3,3－tetrafluoropropane by 1,3－Dipolar Cycloaddition

Heating a mixture of 1, 3-diiodo-1, 1, 3, 3-tetrafluoropropane (2), K2CO3, pyridinium bromides (3) in CH3CN at 65℃ for 10 h gives the corresponding trifluoromethylindolizines.     

The Methoxycarbonylation of Vinyl Acetate Catalyzed by Palladium Complexes of [1,2‐Phenylenebis(methylene)]bis[di(tert‐butyl)phosphine]

Palladium complexes of [1,2‐phenylenebis(methylene)]bis[di(tert‐butyl)phosphine] ( 1 ) catalyze the methoxycarbonylation of vinyl acetate (= ethenyl acetate) in the presence of methanesulfonic acid (Scheme 1). High selectivities to ester products can be obtained if free phosphine ligand is in excess over the amount of added acid (Table 1). Selectivities to methyl 2‐acetoxypropanoate, a precursor to lactate esters, can be as high as 3.6 : 1 at low temperature and pressure (Table 2). Replacing ^tBu by ⁱPr groups leads to less‐active catalysts and lower selectivities to the branched product. Replacing the phenylene moiety by a naphthalenediyl moiety also gives lower activity, but with similar selectivity to the phenylene‐based analogues. Linear hydrocarbon‐chain linkers as the backbone instead of the phenylenebis(methylene) linker leads to poor catalysis, except for a propane‐1,3‐diyl linker, which gives good rates but poor branched selectivity (Table 5). The effect of different reaction conditions on the catalysis is discussed. The syntheses of the new xylene‐based diphosphines 2 – 5 with one to four ⁱPr groups replacing the ^tBu groups at the P‐atoms of 1 and of the ligands 6 and 7 based on 1,2‐ and 2,3‐dimethylnaphthalene are also described (Schemes 2 and 3).     

B20N20团簇的结构与稳定性

B3LYP/6-31G* density functional theory calculations have been carried out on the structure and stability of ten B20N20 clusters. It was found that two new proposed isomers with two octagons, twelve hexagons, eight squares in Cab and C2 symmetry were more stable than the isomer with sixteen hexagons and six squares in C2 symmetry which was previously deemed to the most stable by 79.5 and 13.8 kJ/mol respectively. The isomer with two decagons in S10 symmetry is much higher in energy than the most stable structure in C4h symmetry by 637.2 kJ/mol.

运用三足四齿配体三（2－甲基吡啶）胺（TPA）或三（2－甲基苯丙咪唑）胺（TBA）,得到两个双核铁(III)配合物，[Fe₂L₂(μ₂-O)(μ₂-p-NH₂-C₆H₄COO)]³⁺ (L = TPA, 1 和 L = TBA, 2)。两个配合物均为单斜晶系，空间群为P2(1)/c.晶胞参数 1: a = 1.4529(4), b = 1.6622(5), c = 2.0625(6) nm, β= 100.327(5)º, V = 4.900(3) nm³, z = 4, F(000) = 2344, 分子量M_r = 1142.91, Dc = 1.549 g/cm³, R₁ = 0.0544, R₂ = 0.0962. 2: a = 1.3378(4), b = 2.1174(7), c = 2.4351(7) nm, β= 97.315(6)º, V = 6.842(4) nm³, z = 4, F (000) = 3116, 分子量M_r = 1505.08, Dc = 1.444 g/cm³, R₁ = 0.0793, R₂ = 0.1623. 在两个双核铁(III)配合物中，中心的三价铁和配体TPA或TBA上的四个氮原子和两个氧原子通过不同的桥形成一个畸变的八面体构型。     

Preconcentration and Determination of Chromium Species Using Octadecyl Silica Membrane Disks and Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

A novel and selective method for the fast determination of trace amounts of chromium species in water samples has been developed. The procedure is based on the selective formation of chromium diethyldithiocarbamate complexes at different pH in the presence of Mn(II) as an enhancement agent of chromium signals followed by elution with organic eluents and determination by atomic flame absorption spectrometry. The maximum capacity of the employed disks was found to be (396±3) µg and (376±2) µg for Cr(III) and Cr(VI), respectively. The detection limit of the proposed method is 49 and 43 ng·L^?1 for Cr(III) and Cr(VI), respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied for determination of chromium species Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in different water samples.     

Preparation of nickel-mesoporous materials and their application to the hydrodechlorination of chlorinated organic compounds

Mesoporous materials have attracted considerable attention for use as a catalyst or a catalyst support due to their remarkable textural properties such as high surface area and large pore volume with a narrow pore size distribution. Many efforts have been made to design mesoporous materials for use in heterogeneous catalyst systems. Recent progress and results regarding the preparation of nickel-mesoporous materials and their application to the hydrodechlorination of chlorinated organic compounds were discussed in this review. Mesoporous materials were used as a support for nickel catalyst or a nickel-incorporated mesoporous catalytic material in this work. Two research areas were described and discussed in this review. One is the preparation of mesoporous alumina-supported nickel catalysts and their application to the hydrodechlorination of 1,2-dichloropropane and o-dichlorobenzene. The other is the preparation of mesoporous silica-supported nickel catalysts and their application to the hydrodechlorination of 1,1,2-trichloroethane and chlorobenzene.     

Synthesis of π‐conjugated oligomer that can form metallo polymers

An oligo(p‐phenylene vinylene) that contains terpyridine ligands has been synthesized. Upon addition of metal ions, a π‐conjugated metallo polymer is formed in which the well‐defined character of oligomers and the material properties of polymers are combined. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
