The octaline diol system 6 was found to undergo an interesting set of reactions upon treatment with PhI(OAc)2, leading, in a single synthetic operation, to complex oxygen heterocycles. Experimental evidence supports an intramolecular hetero[4 + 2 + 2] adduct that has heretofore never been observed, which completely dominates the hetero[4 + 2] path in several cases. Five ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC) instruments were compared to one another by examining the overall system performance and key functions of the system parts including: pump, auto-sampler, thermo-stated column compartment, and the detector. The five UHPLC systems used in this study were: ThermoFisher Vanquish, Agilent 1290 Infinity I, Agilent 1290 Infinity II, Waters Acquity I-Class, and Shimadzu Nexera X2. The identities of the systems were blinded in the results and discussion section to use this study for scientific purposes only rather than for competition and marketing. The following tests were performed to evaluate and compare the five UHPLC systems: injector linearity and precision, sample carryover, sample (autosampler) temperature accuracy, column temperature accuracy and precision, pressure ripple, pump mixing accuracy, flow rate accuracy, detector drift and noise, detector linearity, wavelength accuracy, extra-column volume, and dwell volume determination. Metamaterials that provide negative refraction can be implemented in photonic crystals (PhCs) through careful design of the devices. Theoretically, we demonstrate that the dispersion can be altered to achieve negative refraction. This can be done through engineering the geometry of the device as well as selecting appropriate materials. The PhC also demonstrates slow light that facilitate sensing chemicals or biological agents. Using metallic materials such as gold nano-particle enables PhCs to guide optical waves in desired pathways. Also using magnetic materials such as highly doped n-GaAs, we can tune the band gap by changing magnetic field. The simulated results are consistent with some of the previously reported experimental results and give us guidance for future experiments. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a novel augmenting and partitioning scheme for constructing multistage interconnection networks
(MINs) with improved fault-tolerant capabilities. We first propose a partitioning scheme to construct and analyze partitioned
MINs (PMINs). A simulation method is developed, based on the stuck-at fault model, to evaluate dynamic full access (DFA) and
average number of passes in PMINs. We then propose an augmenting scheme to construct augmented partitioned MINs (APMINs) with
further enhanced fault-tolerant capabilities. Simulation analysis of APMINs, based on the switch level fault model, showed
that the proposed scheme significantly improves the fault-tolerant capability of MINs. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed
scheme is evaluated with respect to cost, DFA, locality, and average path length.

Impact of network failures on the performance degradation of aclass of cluster-based multiprocessors
The impact of increased unreliability of network components on the performance of a cluster-based multiprocessor system (CBMS) is investigated. A generalized model which has been developed for computing the closed-form bandwidth expressions for fault-free as well as faulty systems is discussed. Performance curves are given which illustrate the degradation when unreliability is increased in terms of the number of cluster-network failures. Spectrofluorimetric methods are described for the assay of tetracycline (TC) and anhydrotetracycline (ATC) in combination, without prior separation. The interference from ATC in the TC assay has been corrected for by forming the aluminium complexes of both drugs and measuring the difference in fluorescence at 475 and 418 nm, with excitation at 393 nm. Similarly, measurement of the fluorescence of the magnesium complexes at 525 and 470 nm (excitation at 440 nm) nullifies TC interference in the ATC assay. 相似文献

The structure and tautomerism of 5-amino-4-arylazopyrazoles (2a-f) are investigated in aqueous media. In solutions of pH>5 these compounds exist as ring N—1 protonated species. At pH>10 they afford anions which are stabilized by delocalization of the negative charge in the ring as well as on the arylazo moiety. Controlled potential electrolysis and polarographic analysis indicate that 2a-f are reduced via a four electron reduction process to triaminopyrazole and the corresponding substituted aniline derivative.
