We review recent structural studies that we have undertaken aimed at elucidating the fundamental properties of metal-organic framework materials and their interactions with hydrogen. We have shown that exposing coordinatively unsaturated metal centers can greatly enhance the hydrogen binding energy and that they result in a significant increase of the surface packing density of adsorbed hydrogen molecules on materials’ surface. We will review some of the structural aspects of these materials, especially the adsorbed hydrogen molecule surface packing density in one type of metal-organic framework, MOF-74, which can be packed even denser than that in solid hydrogen.   相似文献

In order to well understand the growth mechanism of the diverse morphology of the ZnO nanostructures, in situ analysis of the formation of different ZnO nanostructures, such as nanowires, nanocombs, and nanosheets, has been conducted in an environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM). It is found that both nanocombs and nanosheets grew in two-stage heating processes on parent nanowires. The difference is that the nanocombs were synthesized in extremely high pressure of zinc vapor via a self-catalyzed vapor-liquid-solid process, while the ZnO nanosheets were grown in relatively low pressure of zinc vapor. All the growth processes were revealed in real time imaging. It is demonstrated that the change in the growth environments can influence the thickness of the ZnO polycrystalline surface of the zinc powder, which alters the pressure of the zinc vapor and in turn determines the morphology of the final nanostructures.  相似文献

Laboratory formation of four isomers of C5H2 molecule is reported and detection of the ring-chain isomer (isomer 1) of C5H2 in cosmic objects has been suggested. For identification of a molecule in cosmic objects, one of the required input data is EinsteinA-coefficients (radiative transition probabilities) for the molecule. Here, we report EinsteinA-coefficients for electric dipole transitions in the ring-chain isomer of C5H2 among the rotational levels of the ground electronic and ground vibrational states up to 21 cm−1.  相似文献

A detailed photoluminescence investigation of the thermal redshift and broadening of the excitonic line of cubic CdSe film grown by molecular beam epitaxy is presented. Free excitonic emission from the cubic CdSe film was observed at low temperature. Temperature-dependent measurement was performed to obtain material parameters related to exciton-phonon interaction by fitting the experimental data to the phenomenological model. The relative contribution of both acoustic and optical phonon to the band gap shrinkage and exciton linewidth broadening are discussed. Exciton binding energy of 16±1.5 meV was determined from the Arrhenius analysis.  相似文献

Magnetic edge-state excitons in zigzag graphene nanoribbons   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We present first-principles calculations of the optical properties of zigzag-edged graphene nanoribbons (ZGNRs) employing the GW-Bethe-Salpeter equation approach with the spin interaction included. Optical response of the ZGNRs is found to be dominated by magnetic edge-state-derived excitons with large binding energy. The absorption spectrum is composed of a characteristic series of exciton states, providing a possible signature for identifying the ZGNRs. The edge-state excitons are charge-transfer excitations with the excited electron and hole located on opposite edges; they moreover induce a spin transfer across the ribbon, resulting in a photoreduction of the magnetic ordering. These novel characteristics are potentially useful in the applications.  相似文献

A sensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of plasmonic crystals fabricated via a colloidal-crystal-assisted templating method is studied. Plasmonic crystals are prepared by depositing a thin gold (Au) layer onto a two-dimensional array of polystyrene spheres self-assembled on a quartz substrate. The enhanced transmission as a result of the SPR of Au plasmonic crystals, which are immersed in different ambient liquids, are measured and compared with that of polystyrene (PS) microsphere templates of different sizes, both before and after removal of Au nanoprisms formed on the quartz substrate through pores among the spheres. It is found that the measured sensitivities exhibit a linear dependence on the refractive index of the surrounding medium and are linked to coupling effects between SPRs on the corrugated Au film and nanoislands. The feasibility of the SPR system in molecular monolayer detection is further demonstrated through a formation of alkanethiolate self-assembled monolayers on the Au film surface, which causes a 4 nm red-shift of the main SPR. An improved transmission line model to study the thermal effects in semiconductor laser diodes is reported in this paper. The temperature effects in the laser characteristics are obtained by incorporating temperature dependent gain and carrier density equations for the laser cavity. These primary factors are introduced in the regular transmission line laser model to estimate the static and dynamic characteristics of an 1.3μm InGaAsP double heterostructure laser diode. The results show good agreement with the experimental observation and solution of rate equations referred in the literature. The key feature of this model is that it provides the laser spectra at various temperatures. Based on the model, time dependent evolution of optical spectrum, temperature dependent optical output and frequency chirp are evaluated. Further the distribution of photon and electron density within the cavity is also determined.  相似文献
